1 Instructions
This user manual is an integral part of the appliance and must therefore be kept in its entirety and within the user's reach for the whole working life of the appliance.
1.1 Intended Use
- Only use the appliance indoors and at a maximum altitude of 2000 metres.
- This appliance is intended for household use.
- Uses other than household use are considered improper.
- Only use the appliance to heat water. Never fill the kettle with other liquids.
- This appliance may be used by people of reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities (including children over the age of 8), only if they are supervised by adults or have been trained on how to use the appliance safely and have understood the dangers associated with its use.
- Children must never play with the appliance.
- Keep the appliance out of the reach of children younger than 8.
- Do not use heat sources larger than the size of the kettle's base.
1.2 General Safety Instructions
- Improper use of the appliance can cause injury.
- Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
- Never wash the appliance in the dishwasher.
- Do not put the appliance inside a hot oven.
- Do not use the kettle if the handle is loose.
- Make sure that the inside bottom of the kettle is completely covered with water and that the lid is correctly closed before switching it on.
- Any modifications to the appliance will make the warranty invalid.
- Only use original spare parts. The use of spare parts not approved by the manufacturer could lead to fires, electric shocks or personal injury.
- In the event of a fault with the appliance, repairs must be performed only by qualified technicians or an authorised technical support service.
1.3 Manufacturer Liability
The manufacturer declines any liability for damage to persons or property caused by:
- Not having read the user manual.
- Failure to comply with the safety instructions.
- Use of the appliance other than the one envisaged.
- Tampering with any part of the appliance.
- Use of non-original spare parts.
In addition, the following is excluded from the Warranty:
- Damage caused by wear and tear, accidental misuse, abuse, or commercial use.
- Scratches, stains, discolouration, corrosion, or damage from overheating to the interior or exterior of the kettle.
- Damage to either the hob/cooker or kettle as a result of allowing the kettle to boil dry from over heating following use of the boost function on an induction hob.
⚠️ Danger of burns:
- Do not overfill the kettle (maximum capacity 2.3 litres / 78 fl. oz.) to avoid boiling water from being splashed out.
- The surfaces of the kettle may become very hot. Avoid touching hot surfaces; use the handle.
- Wait a few seconds after the kettle has reached boiling temperature, then pour the water out slowly to prevent hot water from spraying or coming out too fast.
- Do not tilt the hot kettle excessively – the boiling water could spray out, with a risk of burns.
- Keep your face at safe distance from the lid to avoid the risk of scalding from escaping steam.
- Let the appliance cool down before cleaning.
- Caution! The heating element surface is subject to residual heat after use.
⚠️ Suffocation hazard due to plastic packaging:
- Do not leave the packaging or any part of it unattended.
- Do not let children play with the plastic bags.
2 Use
2.1 Before first use
- Rinse the interior of the kettle with hot water.
- Fill the kettle to the maximum level.
- Close the lid and bring to boil.
- Empty the kettle and repeat this operation at least three times.
2.2 Operation
Always hold the product by its handle when removing from your selected heat source.
- Remove the lid to fill with water:
- By holding the handle and using your index and middle finger, lift the knob and unclip the lid.
- Fill the kettle with the desired amount of water and do not fill above the maximum fill line, as water could bubble out the spout when boiling.
- Close the kettle with the lid firmly.
- Place the kettle on the heat source making sure that the heat source matches the size.
- Once you hear the whistle tone, turn off the heat source.
- Wait a few seconds, then pour the water out slowly to prevent hot water from spraying out.
Let the appliance to cool before adding water.
Never fill the hot appliance with cold water.
The heating source needs to match the size of the base of the kettle. Should you use a larger plate or if the gas flames wrap around the edges of the appliance, discolouration could occur by damaging the product finishing.
3 Cleaning and maintenance
3.1 Cleaning the surfaces
Clean the surfaces regularly after each use with gentle detergent and a damp cloth.
To avoid damaging the surfaces, do not use steam jets, products containing chlorine, ammonia or bleach, abrasive or corrosive detergents.
3.2 Descaling
The kettle can be descaled using a specific descaling product and following the instructions.
Alternatively, you can use common household vinegar proceeding as follows:
- Fill the kettle with water (1.5 litre / 51 fl. oz.) and boil it.
- Add white vinegar (0.5 litres / 17 fl. oz. to 0.7 litres / 24 fl. oz. depending on the amount of scale).
- Leave it to act overnight.
- Empty the kettle.
- Fill the kettle with water and boil it.
- Empty the kettle and repeat this operation at least twice.
