The VIVOSUN Digital Timer is a versatile and programmable device designed to control electrical appliances with precision. Featuring an LCD display and user-friendly controls, it allows for automated ON/OFF scheduling, making it ideal for home, garden, and various other applications. It includes advanced features like daylight saving time adjustment, an anti-theft random function, and a countdown timer.
The timer is designed by VIVOSUN in California and made in China.

Battery: 1.2V 40mAh Built-in Rechargeable Ni-MH battery.
Before Programming the Timer
This timer has a built-in backup battery to save user's presets and programs.
- ⚠️ The timer is designed for indoor use; ensure it is dry and away from water.
- Do not use the timer in temperatures above 55°C or below -10°C.
- Do not plug in any electrical appliances that exceed the rated power.
- Heaters, pet feeders, and similar appliances should not be connected to timers.
- The appliance must be turned "ON" before plugging it into the timer.
- Do not attempt to repair, disassemble, or modify the timer under any circumstances.
- Keep the timer away from children and pets when unplugging it from the power outlet.
1. Initial Setting
Press the Reset button [R] to reset the timer. The screen will turn blank and show a reset display.
Note:
- If the screen is blank, plug the timer into a power source to charge the battery for 15 to 20 minutes and press the [R] button to enter factory mode.
- Returning to factory mode will delete all user programs and settings.
2. Current Time Setting
a. Day setting: While pressing the [CLOCK] button, press the [WEEK] button to adjust the current day. For example, to set the current day as Sunday.
b. Hour setting: While pressing the [CLOCK] button, press the [HOUR] button to adjust the current hour. For example, to set the current hour as 08:00.
c. Minute setting: While pressing the [CLOCK] button, press the [MIN] button to adjust the current minute. For example, to set the current minute as 08:30.
3. Timer Program Setting
a. Setting ON time: Press the [PROG] button to enter the "1ON" cycle time setting (first group ON time). For example, "1ON" will show on the display.
b. Selecting days: Press the [WEEK] button to choose the working day(s) you want. The combinations of days are:
- 1. Mon+Tue+Wed+Thu+Fri
- 2. Sat + Sun
- 3. Mon+Wed+Fri
- 4. Tue+Thu+Sat
- 5. Mon+Tue+Wed
- 6. Thu+Fri+Sat
- 7. Mon+Tue+Wed+Thu+Fri+Sat
- 8. Individual days: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, or Sun.
c. Setting ON hour: Press the [HOUR] button to choose the desired working hour. Keep pressing [HOUR] for more than 3 seconds to change the hour number rapidly.
d. Setting ON minute: Press the [MIN] button to choose the desired working minute. Keep pressing [MIN] for more than 3 seconds to change the minute number rapidly.
e. Setting OFF time: After finishing the "1ON" setting, press the [PROG] button to enter the "1OFF" time setting. Repeat steps b, c, and d to finish the "1OFF" time setting.
f. Setting more programs: Press the [PROG] button to switch to the next ON/OFF group. Repeat steps b-e to set more timing programs as needed. The maximum setting group is 20 ON/OFF.
g. Exiting program setting: Press the [CLOCK] button to exit the program setting and return to the current time. Press the [PROG] button repeatedly to review the program settings. Press the [DEL] button to delete a setting or press it one more time to restore.
Important Note: Do not overlap set ON/OFF times for different timing groups.
4. Mode and Manual Override Switch
Press the [MODE] button to advance through the following switching commands or to set the timer to always ON, OFF, or AUTO.
- OFF: Always OFF (Timing function is off).
- AUTO: ON/OFF automatically follows programmed settings.
- ON: Always ON (Timing function is on).
Note:
- When the mode changes to AUTO, if the socket was previously OFF, it remains OFF until the next programmed ON time. If the timer was in ON mode, it will work as programmed.
- When the mode changes to AUTO, if the socket was previously ON, it remains ON until the next programmed OFF time. Then the timer will work as per your program.
5. Daylight Saving Time (Summer time)
This function allows the timer to adjust the current time on the timer one hour ahead to accommodate daylight savings.
a. Set the daylight saving time: Press [HOUR] and [MIN] to set the daylight saving time. An "S" [DST] will show on the display, and the current time will be advanced by one hour.
b. Cancel & exit daylight saving time: Press [HOUR] and [MIN] to cancel the daylight saving time. The "S" [DST] will disappear from the display, and the time will revert by one hour.
6. Anti-theft Random Function
The timer can operate the plugged-in appliance with a random ON/OFF cycle pattern when you are away from home. This is especially useful during vacations to deter potential theft.
In random mode, the timer will turn ON and OFF randomly within a 10 to 42 minutes variation based on the ON and OFF schedule you set.
The random function only works when the timer program has been set, and the mode is in AUTO mode.
Random function setting:
Ensure that the programs have been set and the timer is in AUTO mode.
Press "WEEK" and "HOUR" simultaneously to enter random mode; a symbol will appear on the display.
Press "WEEK" and "HOUR" again to cancel the random mode. The symbol will disappear, and the timer will revert to the user's previous program settings.
7. Countdown Function
This function allows a plugged-in appliance to turn ON or OFF during a countdown period. The user can set the countdown duration (1 second to 99 hours, 59 minutes, 59 seconds).
Countdown setting:
Keep pressing “WEEK” and “DEL” to enter countdown setting mode. The display will show "dOFF 00:00:00".
Press the [MODE] button to switch between countdown ON ([dON]) or OFF ([dOFF]) mode.
Press "HOUR”, “MIN” and “DEL” to set the hour, minute, and second for the countdown time.
Long press “HOUR”, “MIN” and "DEL” to adjust the hour, minute, and second rapidly.
Press "WEEK" to cancel or recover countdown time setting.
Note:
- If in [dON] mode, the timer will change to AUTO OFF when the countdown finishes.
- If in [dOFF] mode, the timer will change to ON AUTO when the countdown finishes.
Manual countdown operation:
Press [PROG] to start the countdown after setting the countdown time.
Press [PROG] to pause and continue the countdown during operation.
Cancel countdown mode:
Keep pressing “WEEK” and “DEL” to cancel the countdown mode at any time. The display will return to the current time.
8. AM & PM Display Mode
Press "MIN" and "DEL” simultaneously to switch between 12/24 hours display mode. "AM" or "PM" will show on the display when you choose and set the 12-hour mode. Press "MIN" and "DEL" again to exit the 12-hour mode.
