Aqara Smart Lock U200 Installation and User Guide

Product Introduction

The Aqara Smart Lock U200 offers advanced keyless access with Matter over Thread support, ensuring seamless integration with various smart home ecosystems. It operates the existing lock cylinder without requiring door modifications.

Compatibility

• Euro Mortise Locks: Supports Euro profile and select Scandi cylinders. Requires a cylinder with an Emergency Function.
• US Deadbolt Locks: Suitable for single-cylinder deadbolt locks with backsets of 2-3/8” (60 mm) and 2-3/4” (70 mm).
• Additional Requirements: A PH1 Phillips screwdriver is needed. An installation video is recommended. A 2-in-1 Matter Controller and Thread Border Router are required for smart automations.

Installation Guide

Pre-installation Checks

• Interior Key: If your door has an interior key, ensure its thickness is ≤ 5mm and the handle length is ≤ 39mm when inserted. The door must be unlockable from the outside with the interior key inserted. Replace the lock cylinder if it doesn't meet these requirements.
• Interior Knob: Remove the knob and retain screws. Select the appropriate adapter for the lock cylinder tailpiece. Replace the lock cylinder if the knob cannot be removed.

Installation Steps

1. Prepare the Door: For US Deadbolt Locks, use tape to secure the outdoor part of the door lock. Remove the indoor knob and keep the mounting screws.
2. Mounting Plate: Attach the keypad mounting plate to the door, ideally within 2 meters of the lock.
3. Install the Lock:
   • Screw Installation: If the lock cylinder protrudes ≥ 3mm, secure the fixed plate with screws. Tighten the three screws clockwise using the provided hex key. Avoid over-tightening.
   • 3M Adhesive Installation: If the lock cylinder protrudes ≤ 3mm, clean the area, apply the 3M adhesive to the fixed plate, and attach it to the lock cylinder. Press and hold for 60 seconds. Use a hairdryer to remove.
4. Install Key or Adapter: If the knob tailpiece is cylindrical, use the original knob screws to secure the adapter. Ensure the tailpiece does not rub against the fixed plate and protrudes 1-20mm. Trim if necessary.
5. Install Batteries: Open the battery cover, install AAA batteries, and cover the battery plate.
6. Secure the Lock: Attach the door lock to the fixed plate using screws. Rotate the knob to check for smooth locking and unlocking. Adjust screw tightness as needed.
7. Keypad Installation: Insert AAA batteries into the keypad. Slide the keypad down to lock it in place.

Lock Calibration

Calibration ensures proper lock function. You can calibrate using the Aqara Home app or directly on the lock.

On-Lock Calibration

1. Close the door and unlock it from the inside.
2. Press and hold the Set button ⚙️ on the lock for 3 seconds.
3. The lock will beep twice, then rotate to unlock and lock positions. A tune indicates completion.

Note: Two beeps indicate calibration failure. If issues persist, check screw tightness or use the manual calibration in the Aqara Home app.

Connectivity and App Setup

Aqara Home App

1. Download the Aqara Home app from your app store or by scanning the QR code.
2. Power on the device, bring your phone near it, open the app, tap the '+' icon, select "Smart Lock U200," and follow the instructions.
3. Aqara Home offers exclusive features like Manual Calibration, Auto Lock, and more.

Connecting to Other Matter Ecosystems

1. Ensure you have a Matter Controller and Thread Border Router.
2. Power on the lock, press the Set button ⚙️ to enter pairing mode.
3. Use the third-party app to scan the Matter QR code or enter the setup code.
4. To add to other ecosystems after Matter binding, use the Matter app to share the device.
5. To switch ecosystems, remove the device from the current app, reset the lock, and re-pair.

Adding Apple Home Key (for iOS Users)

1. Connect to Apple Home. The "Wallet" app will generate Apple home keys.
2. Requires an Apple home hub (HomePod mini, HomePod, Apple TV 4K 3rd gen).
3. For home key feature: iPhone XS or newer with iOS 17.1+, Apple Watch Series 4 or newer with watchOS 10.1+.

Local Settings and Features

Accessing Local Settings

• Aqara Home Users: Long press the Confirm button ✔️ for 3 seconds, then verify admin credentials.
• Other Matter Users: Long press the Confirm button ✔️ for 3 seconds, then press the Set button ⚙️ on the indoor lock.
• Bound to Both: Verify Aqara admin credentials on the keypad.

Local Settings Options

• Add User: Register fingerprints and passwords.
• Remove Users: Delete user credentials.
• Volume & Language: Adjust settings.
• Matter Reset: Reset the Matter ecosystem binding.
• Door Lock Calibration: Recalibrate the lock.

Quiet Lock and Unlock

• Outdoor Quiet Unlock: Press Confirm ✔️, then verify credentials.
• Outdoor Quiet Lock: Press Confirm ✔️, then press the Lock button ?.
• Indoor Quiet Unlock/Lock: Slowly turn the door lock knob in the unlock/lock direction.

Note: Customize quiet functions via the Aqara Home app. Auxiliary rotation feature must be enabled in Aqara Home settings.

Auto-Lock

Enable this feature in the Aqara Home app settings. The lock attempts to secure automatically after the door closes. Recalibration may be needed after extended use.

Resetting the Lock and Keypad

Reset Methods

• Aqara Home Bound: Press and hold Lock ? and Confirm ✔️ buttons on keypad for 5 seconds. Verify admin credentials.
• Matter Ecosystem Bound: Press and hold Lock ? and Confirm ✔️ buttons on keypad for 5 seconds. Then press and hold the Reset button ⚙️ on the lock for 3 seconds.

The lock will reset to factory settings, erasing all user data.

Power and FAQ

Power Options

• Door Lock: Supports charging while in use. Use the supplied pouch to hang the charger on the door handle.
• Keypad: Use LR3 AAA batteries or connect a 12V-24V 0.5A AC/DC power supply.
