KorEXO Firmware Update

DOWNLOAD AND APPLY THE LATEST FIRMWARE

Step 1: Download the Firmware Package

Visit the YSI Software and Firmware Downloads page: https://www.ysi.com/customer-support/software-firmware-downloads/software

Under the 'Firmware' section, click the button to download the latest KorEXO Firmware Update Package. This package is approximately 8.3 MB.

Note: If you encounter issues with automatic downloads, this manual update procedure can be used. This will update the EXO sonde to version X.X.X.

Step 2: Extract the Downloaded File

Locate the downloaded file, which is typically in your computer's 'Downloads' folder. The file will be zipped.

Right-click on the zipped folder and select 'Extract All'. This action will unzip the files into a new folder named 'korexo-firmware-[Version]'.

Step 3: Prepare for Local Update

Double-click to open the newly created firmware folder. Inside, you will find another .zip file along with the KorEXO Manifest file. Keep these two files within this folder.

Step 4: Initiate Local Update in KorEXO Software

Launch the KorEXO Software.

Click on the 'File' menu.

Select the 'Click Here to Browse for a Local Update Package' button.

Note: If this button is not visible, navigate to 'Settings', toggle the 'Automatically Update Software and Firmware' setting to 'Off', then click 'Save' and close the KorEXO Software. Re-open the software, and the button should now be available.

Step 5: Select the Local Update Package

When prompted to browse for a local update package, navigate to and select the folder you extracted in Step 2 ('korexo-firmware-[Version]'). The software will import the files.

Once the import is complete, an 'Update is Available' message should appear.

Close and restart the KorEXO Software. The firmware update will then be applied.

Step 6: Connect Instruments and Update Firmware

Connect your instruments to the software.

If the firmware update was not applied automatically upon connection, navigate to the 'Instruments and Sensors' menu and click the 'Update Instrument Firmware' button.

KorEXO Software will apply the latest firmware to all connected instruments.
