VI. Buttons and setup
Buttons:
- Power/Auto Shutdown: Short press to power ON/OFF. Long press to switch ON/OFF auto shutdown function. An auto shutdown indicator is shown when active.
- Temperature Unit: Short press to switch between °C/°F.
- MODE: Short press to switch between MAX/MIN/AVG modes. Long press to switch thermocouple type (K/J).
- HOLD: Short press to switch ON/OFF data hold function. Long press to switch ON/OFF backlight.
VII. Operation instructions
Connection:
A. Insert thermocouple into input jacks.
B. Short press the power button to turn on the device.
C. Setup the thermocouple type (according to the type being used).
Note: If the thermocouple is not connected or in open circuit, "----" appears on the screen. If over range occurs, "OL" appears.
Temperature display:
A. Short press °C/°F to select temperature unit.
B. Place the thermocouple probe on the object to be measured.
Note: It takes several minutes for readings to steady if thermocouples are just inserted or replaced. This ensures the accuracy of cold junction compensation.
Data hold:
A. Short press to hold the data displayed. The HOLD symbol appears.
B. Short press again to switch off data hold function. The HOLD symbol disappears.
Backlight ON/OFF:
A. Long press the HOLD button to turn on backlight.
B. Long press the HOLD button again to turn off backlight.
MAX/MIN/AVG value:
Short press the MODE button to cycle through MAX, MIN, AVG, or regular measurement. The corresponding symbol appears for different modes (e.g., MAX appears when measuring the maximum value).
Thermocouple type:
Long press the MODE button to switch thermocouple types (K/J). "TYPE:K" or "TYPE: J" indicators are shown.
