Product Description
The versatile EloPOS System combines modern aesthetics, modular flexibility, and commercial-grade reliability. Purpose-built for point of sale, EloPOS offers a 15.6-inch touchscreen display with 1366 x 768 resolution, a choice of Intel's 8th generation Gemini Lake Celeron processors or the i3 and i5 Core Coffee Lake processors. All models include TPM 2.0, and i5 models support VPRO for maximum system security and manageability. All models utilize one of two connectivity hubs: an integrated expansion hub stand and a rear-mounted hub providing a wide array of mounting options. These hubs provide the flexibility needed for any application's peripherals, whether it's a customer-facing display, payment reader, printer, cash drawer, barcode scanner, or scale. EloPOS has it covered. From traditional POS to self-service applications, EloPOS delivers the durability needed to survive continuous public use and is backed by Elo's standard 3-year warranty.

This manual contains information that is important for the proper setup and maintenance of the EloPOS All-in-one touch computers. Before setting up and powering on your unit, please read through this manual in detail seriously and carefully.
EloPOS Layout and Ports
EloPOS 15" Models Overview
The EloPOS 15" models feature a touchscreen display, a stand module, and various ports on the rear and bottom for connectivity. The layout is designed for commercial and point-of-sale applications.
Port and Feature Descriptions:
- 1. Display with Touch: The model is available with TouchPro, zero-bezel projective capacitive (PCAP) touch technology.
- 2. Power Indicator LED: Indicates the state of the touch computer.
- 3. Stand Module: A robust design supporting Elo All-in-one touch computers.
- 4. Edge Micro USB Port (Accessory kit - connections): Four edge USB ports on the display for mounting optional peripherals.
- 5. VESA Mount: A 75x75mm mounting pattern for M4 screws is provided on the rear of the monitor (VESA MIS-D, C compliant).
- 6. Speaker: Two integrated 2-watt speakers provide audio output.
- 7. Power Button: Used to turn the touch computer system on/off.
- 8. Headset: Audio port for headset and microphone connectivity.
- 9. USB 3.0 Port: Standard Super Speed USB 3.0 port available on the rear.
- 10. Ethernet LAN Port: Provides up to 1 Gbps speed capability for networking.
- 11. Kensington Lock: Standard anti-theft mechanism for securing the desktop. Cable lock not included.
- 12. Serial Port (COM1/RJ-45)/Serial Port (COM2/RJ-45): Native RS-232 specification for RJ-45 interface connection.
- 13. Power Connector (DC-IN): Connect the AC/DC power adapter kit here. A note indicates how to detach the DC plug from the stand module.
- 14. USB Type-C Port: Allows connection to other Type-C compatible devices.

Cash Drawer Port (A/B) Details
The cash drawer port uses an RJ-12 interface and supports switchable voltages (+12V/+24V). The default setting is +24V.

Switching between +12VOLTs and +24VOLTS:
To switch the voltage for the cash drawer power, remove the cover from the bottom of the stand module or the back of the touch computer to reveal the switch. Slide the switch between 24V or 12V.
Peripheral Power Consumption Notice
Ensure overall peripheral power consumption does not exceed the following limits (when the system is running at max power, which is uncommon for POS applications):
- E2 models: Not exceed 156W
- E3 models: Not exceed 115W
- E5 models: Not exceed 106W
Section 2: Installation
Adjusting the Display to a Suitable Position
The touch computer provides tilt adjustment for the monitor to accommodate different deployment scenarios. The tilt adjustment allows for a range of angles, with dimensions indicating the physical size of the unit.

Section 3: Operation
General Information
This section describes unique features of the Elo all-in-one Touch computer.
Power LED
The EloPOS has a Power LED indicating the state of the touch computer. The table below shows LED state and corresponding color:

Touching the screen will bring the system out of SLEEP mode (similar to moving the mouse or pressing a keyboard key).

Touch
Your touchscreen display is factory-calibrated and does not need any additional manual calibration.
Setting Up the Operating System
If configured with an operating system, the initial setup takes approximately 5-10 minutes, potentially longer depending on hardware and connected devices. To set up Microsoft® Windows®, turn on the computer and follow the on-screen instructions. Elo ensures drivers are correct and loaded for Windows. For custom image creation, use the Elo image or driver packs, or contact support.
Creating the Recovery Flash Drive
All Windows 10 touch computers include the built-in Elo Restore Utility to create a recovery flash drive. Create this immediately in case the HDD/SSD recovery partition becomes inaccessible.
- Right-click the EloRestoreUtility icon on the Desktop and select “Run as administrator”.
- Click the “Start” button to begin the process.
- Once completed, a pop-up window will prompt you to insert a blank flash drive into any available USB port.
- After inserting the flash drive, click “Format Drive” to continue. Note: All data on the drive will be lost.
- Click “Create Restore Media” to proceed. This step takes 10-20 minutes.
- Once the message “Creation Restore Media success...” appears, remove the flash drive and click “Exit”.
- If the system crashes, reboot and press F11 to enter the DeviceBoot Menu, then choose “boot from flash drive”.
- When the ELO OS Recovery Solution (UEFI) UI appears, click “Install Recovery Solution” button.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation and exit. Note: All data is deleted during recovery. Back up files. Elo Touch Solutions is not liable for lost data. The end user must adhere to Microsoft's Licensing Agreement.
Recovering the Operating System
To recover the operating system to FACTORY SETTINGS, follow these procedures. Note: ALL CUSTOMER SETTINGS AND DATA WILL BE LOST. Backup all data, settings, and software before proceeding.
- Power off your system completely.
- Power on your system.
- When the “Choose an operating system” screen appears, tap to select “UEFI – Recover Operating System”.
- The ELO OS Recovery Solution (UEFI) interface will be presented.
- Select “Restore OS”. The system will test hardware automatically. Click “Start” to perform system recovery.
- The process will reformat the primary hard drive. Note: Back up data before recovery. All existing data on the primary drive and its partitions will be destroyed.
- Once completed, click “Close”, then click “Exit” to restart your system. Note: All data is deleted during the recovery process. Back up files. Elo Touch Solutions is not liable for lost data or software. The end user must adhere to Microsoft's Licensing Agreement.
Reconfigure COM Port Order
If Windows re-arranges COM port order after OS recovery or hardware changes, Elo provides a COM port rename tool located in “C:\EloTouchSolutions\Peripherals\RS232\COMPortResetUtility\”. Execute this tool as Administrator. The system will reboot, setting two COM ports to COM1 and COM2.

Solutions to Common Problems

Section 6: Safety & Maintenance
Safety
- To avoid risk of electric shock, follow all safety notices and do not disassemble the touch computer. They are not user-serviceable.
- Do not block or insert anything inside the ventilation slots.
- The EloPOS is equipped with an AC/DC power adaptor. Do not use a damaged AC/DC power adaptor. Use only the AC/DC power adaptor supplied by Elo. Use of an unauthorized adaptor may void your warranty.
- Ensure the system is maintained and runs within the specified environmental conditions.
- Be sure to disconnect the power source before disassembling the equipment. Wait one-half hour after switching off before handling parts.

This notice applies when using the Power USB function of your Elo EloPOS. Do not exceed a total of 180 watts. Check the wattage of the power adaptor and add the power consumption of Elo Peripherals or other connected devices to ensure the total is under 180 watts. Care and Handling
Follow these tips to keep your touch computer functioning optimally:
- Disconnect the AC power cable before cleaning.
- To clean the unit (except touchscreen), use a clean cloth lightly dampened with a mild detergent. Ensure the unit remains dry; do not get liquids on or inside it. If liquid enters, contact a qualified service technician before powering on again.
- Do not wipe the screen with a cloth or sponge that could scratch the surface.
- To clean the touchscreen, use window or glass cleaner applied to a clean cloth or sponge. Never apply cleaner directly to the touchscreen. Do not use alcohol, thinner, benzene, or other abrasive cleaners.
- Ensure environmental temperature and humidity are within specifications and do not block ventilation slots.
- Touch computers are not designed for outdoor use.
Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE)
This product should not be disposed of with household waste. It must be deposited at a facility for recovery and recycling according to local laws and regulations. Elo has recycling arrangements; visit https://www.elotouch.com/e-waste-recycling-program for information.
UL Directive
The touch computer contains a lithium battery. Incorrect battery replacement risks explosion. Dispose of used batteries according to regional instructions.
Warning
- Keep your touch computer dry. Do not pour liquid into or onto it. If it becomes wet, do not attempt repair; contact Elo Customer Service.
- Overuse may damage vision.
- Take a 10-minute rest after every 30 minutes of use.
- Children under two years old should not look directly at the screen. Children over two years old should not look at the screen for more than one hour per day.
Section 7: Regulatory Information
Electrical Safety Information
Compliance requires adherence to voltage, frequency, and current requirements on the manufacturer's label. Using a different power source may result in improper operation, damage, or fire hazard.
This equipment contains no operator-serviceable parts. Hazardous voltages are present. Service must be provided by a qualified technician. Contact a qualified electrician or the manufacturer if you have questions about connecting to mains power.
