Product Overview

The ArmorConnect® power and control media offers a comprehensive solution for industrial automation systems, providing reliable and quick connections for three-phase power and control signals. These cable system components, including cordsets, patchcords, receptacles, tees, and reducers, are designed for use with the ArmorStart Distributed Motor Controller, simplifying installation and reducing wiring errors.

Three-Phase Power Media

The three-phase power media provides quick-disconnect cables for secure connections to the ArmorStart Distributed Motor Controller. Connectors are available in straight or right-angled configurations and are physically keyed to prevent mis-wiring. Cabling options include:

  • Cordsets: Cable with an integral male or female connector at one end and flying leads at the other.
  • Patchcords: Cable with an integral connector at each end (one male, one female).

Three-phase power tees, reducing tees, and reducers offer flexibility in system design. Receptacles serve as termination points at the panel and motor junction box. Field-installable receptacles allow for custom power cable lengths, reducing excess cable and improving machine aesthetics. These components are rated for motor branch circuits per UL 2237.

Three-Phase Power Media System Overview Diagram

The system overview diagram illustrates the connection of an enclosure containing a branch circuit protective device and power supplies to multiple ArmorStart units. These units are interconnected using three-phase power trunk cables, drop cables, tees, and receptacles. A Bulletin 800F Stop Pushbutton is also integrated into the system.

  • Component 2: Three-Phase Drop Cable - PatchCord cable with integral female or male connector on each end (Example Cat. No.: 280-PWRM22A-M*).
  • Component 3: Three-Phase Power Tees and Reducer - Tee connects to a single drop line to trunk with quick change connectors (Cat. No.: 280-T35). Reducing Tee connects to a single drop line (Mini) to trunk (Quick change) connector (Cat. No.: 280-RT35). Reducer connects from quick change male connector to mini female connector (Cat. No.: 280-RA35).
  • Component 4: Three-Phase Power Receptacles - Female receptacles are panel mount connectors with flying leads (Cat. No.: 280-M35F-M1).

Control Power Media

The control power media offers mini-disconnect cables for secure connections to the ArmorStart Distributed Motor Controller. These components feature a 6-pin/5-used configuration to prevent mis-wiring. Connectors are available in straight or right-angled configurations and are physically keyed. Cabling options include:

  • Cordsets: Cable with an integral male or female connector at one end and flying leads at the other.
  • Patchcords: Cable with an integral connector at each end (one male, one female).

Control power tees offer system design flexibility. The T-port connects a single drop line to the trunk, with E-stop In and E-stop Out configurations available for connecting to Bulletin 800F On-Machine E-Stop stations. ArmorStart Auxiliary tees allow for standard 4-wire auxiliary power distribution. Receptacles provide termination points at the panel and controller, with female receptacles for panel mount and male receptacles for quick disconnect at the motor junction box.
