Firmware
Covered vehicles use BLADE-AL (DL) -CH7. Confirm the application, flash the module, and update the firmware controller before installing.
CAN
Type 1 vehicles use CAN connections in the OBD-II harness. The included CAN extension is not necessary for this type of installation.
Lights
Type A parking lights use the 6-pin connector. Ensure that the unused 10-pin connector is properly secured for safety.
Ignition
Common ignition provisions are listed in the BLADE diagram. Ignition is also available in the vehicle BCM (connector C5 / E, pink / white, pin # 27). The hood status wire is available in the vehicle BCM, connector C1, pin # 11 (violet / blue).
Installation and Configuration Notes
- The Type 1 CAN connection utilizes the harness provision to obtain CAN data from the OBD-II connector.
- The Type 2 CAN extension cable is not used in covered vehicles. Ensure that all unused connections are properly isolated and secured for safety.
- Hood pin connection (if necessary).
- Ignition source jumper: NO CONNECTION is required for this type of installation. Secure the ignition without using jumpers to ensure safety.
- Ignition connection varies by vehicle. The component locator illustrates the common connection to BCM connector C5 (pin # 27, pink / white). See notes on the coverage page for location details and exceptions.
Jumper Setting Information:
- FT-DAS Required for manual transmission.
- BOTH Red & Red/White MUST be connected with high current application.
