Firmware
Covered vehicles use BLADE-AL (DL) -CH7; confirm the application, modulate the flash, and update the firmware controller before installation.
CAN
Type 1 vehicles use CAN connections in the OBD-II harness; the included CAN extension is not necessary for this type of installation.
Lights
Type A parking lights use the 6-pin connector; ensure the unused 10-pin connector is properly secured for safety.
Ignition
Common ignition provisions are listed in the BLADE diagram; ignition is also available in the vehicle BCM (connector C5 / E, pink / white, pin # 27). The hood status wire is available in the vehicle BCM, connector C1, pin # 11 (violet / blue).
FTI-CDP1 - Installation and Configuration Notes
- CAN type 1 connection uses the harness provision to obtain CAN data from the OBD-II connector.
- CAN extension cable type 2 is not used in covered vehicles; ensure all unused connections are properly isolated and secured for safety.
- Hood pin connection (if necessary).
- Ignition source jumper; NO CONNECTION is required for this type of installation. Secure the ignition without using jumpers to ensure safety.
- Ignition connection varies by vehicle; the component locator illustrates the common connection to BCM connector C5 (pin # 27, pink / white). See notes on the coverage page for location and exception details.
Important Notes:
- FT-DAS Required for manual transmission.
- BOTH Red & Red/White MUST be connected with high current application.
Jumper Setting
A diagram illustrates jumper settings for various functions. Options include: Parking Light, Accessory, Ignition (Default), Door Trigger In (+), Door Trigger In (-), Trunk, Starter, Parking Light (Default), Accessory (Default).
Feature Coverage
A diagram shows a list of covered features, indicated by checkboxes: Immobilizer Data, Priority Unlock, Door Lock, Door Unlock, Arm OEM Alarm, Disarm OEM Alarm, Trunk/Hatch Release, Door Status, Trunk Status, RAP Shutdown, Brake Status, E-Brake Status, Tach Output, Secure Takeover, Parking Lights.
Jumper Configurations
Two jumper configurations are shown: CM7000/7200 (with a 'Cut loop for A/T' instruction) and CM900AS/900S Jumper (with pins for START, ACC, IGN1).
FTI-CDP1 - DL-CH7 - Type 4 2018-22 Jeep Grand Cherokee PTS Wiring Diagram
This section describes the wiring connections for the BLADE-AL(DL)-CH7 module in a 2018-2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee PTS.
The diagram illustrates the connections between the BLADE module, vehicle components, and the power source. Key components and connections include:
- BLADE Module: Connected to PWR (Power) and various vehicle systems.
- OBD-II Connector (1): A primary connection point for CAN data.
- PTS Button (2): Push-to-Start button connection.
- Headlight Switch (3): Connection for headlight control, typically Type B.
- BCM (4): Body Control Module, a central point for many vehicle functions.
- Green Junction Block (5): Located on the driver side dash, with connections for brown/yellow and pink/white wires.
- C5 - Ignition: A specific connector on the BCM for ignition signals, showing pins 48, 39, 26, 25, and 1.
- Hood Connection (C): A connection point for the hood status.
- RAP Shutdown (B): A wire for Retained Accessory Power shutdown.
- Aftermarket Part (C): Indication to install an aftermarket part if required.
- Not Required: A section of the wiring diagram is marked as 'Not required', indicating certain connections are optional or not used in this specific installation type.
The diagram uses letters (A, B, C, D, E) to denote specific connection points or wire paths.
LED Programming Error Codes
The module's LED flashes RED during programming to indicate errors:
- 1x Flash: CAN error, check wiring and CAN voltages.
- 2x Flashes: Key code not learned, confirm unlock sent, check CAN.
- 3x Flashes: No PTS signal, check button connection.
- 4x Flashes: No immobilizer data, check wiring. If without immobilizer, confirm only one key in the vehicle.
- 5x Flashes: No ignition, check wiring.
- 6x Flashes: VIN error, check CAN wiring.
- 7x Flashes: PTS signal error, check button connection.
- 8x Flashes: No PTS signal, check button connection.
