Gateway Description

The ENGO EGATE is a ZigBee Universal Gateway.

Installation

Important Notes:

• Warning: Additional protection requirements may apply to the entire installation, for which the installer is responsible.
• Assembly: Installation must be carried out by a qualified person with appropriate electrical training in accordance with standards and regulations applicable in a specific country and in the EU. The manufacturer is not responsible for non-compliance with the instructions.
• Power Connection: Connect the gateway to a 230V AC power supply, using only the supplied plug and USB cable.
• Placement: It is recommended to maintain a minimum distance of 1 meter between the router and the gateway to avoid WiFi and Zigbee interference.

Operating Modes

The ZigBee gateway can communicate with the cloud via the internet in two ways:

• 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network
• Ethernet network via LAN cable

Installation in the App

Step 1: Download the ENGO Smart App

Download and install the ENGO Smart App from Google Play or the Apple App Store on your smartphone. Ensure your router is within smartphone range and you are connected to the internet to shorten pairing time.

Step 2: Register a New Account

1. Click "Sign Up" to create a new account.
2. Enter your email address to receive a verification code.
3. Enter the verification code received via email (you have 60 seconds to enter it).
4. Set your login password.

Step 3a: Install the Internet Gateway via LAN Cable

1. Ensure the ENGO Smart App has permissions (location, Bluetooth, nearby devices). Turn on Bluetooth and location.
2. Connect the device via cable (2) to the power supply and the internet.
3. Press and hold the RESET button (1) for 10 seconds. The red LED should blink slowly, indicating pairing mode. If it blinks rapidly, press and hold RESET again for 10 seconds, wait, and ensure the red LED blinks slowly.
4. In the app, select "Add Device".
5. Find the gateway and select "Add".
6. Wait for the app to configure the device.
7. Select "DONE". The gateway is installed and displays the main interface. The red LED is solid on.

Step 3b: Install the Internet Gateway via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Network

1. Ensure the ENGO Smart App has permissions (location, Bluetooth, nearby devices). Turn on Bluetooth and location.
2. Connect to the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network you want to assign to the gateway.
3. Ensure the device is powered on.
4. Press and hold the RESET button (1) for 10 seconds. The red LED should blink slowly, indicating pairing mode. If it blinks rapidly, press and hold RESET again for 10 seconds, wait, and ensure the red LED blinks slowly.
5. In the app, select "Add Device".
6. Go to the "Gateway Control" tab and select "EGATE-PRO Gateway (Zigbee)".
7. Select "AP Mode".
8. Click "Next".
9. Confirm the indicator is blinking slowly.
10. Select the desired field and click "Next".
11. Select the Wi-Fi network where the gateway will operate and enter the password.
12. Connect your mobile phone to the device's hotspot (e.g., "SmartLife-XXXX").
13. Once the network is configured, select "Connect only this time" and click "Back".
14. Wait for the app to configure the device.
15. Select "DONE". The gateway is installed and displays the main interface. The red LED is solid on.

Adding Devices to the Gateway in Offline Mode

To start pairing ZigBee devices with the gateway, press the RESET button (1). The blue LED will start blinking, indicating the ZigBee network is "open" (you can add devices to the gateway). After adding all ZigBee devices, press the "RESET" button on the gateway again. The blue LED will stop blinking and remain solid, indicating the ZigBee network is "closed".

• Note: ZigBee devices can only be added when the network is "open" (blue LED blinking). Refer to the individual device's manual for synchronization instructions.

Resetting to Factory Settings

To restore the device to its default settings, press and hold the RESET button (1) for approximately 10 seconds until both LEDs light up. Release the button, and the Universal Internet Gateway will restore default settings and begin the pairing process.
