APPLICABLE WARRANTY

This repair is covered under the Toyota Basic Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.

Software Update Procedure

  1. Confirm the audio system type by checking the Panel ID printed above the top-right or bottom-right of the display.
    Figure 1 shows the Entune display for a Corolla, indicating the location of the Panel ID near the top-right or bottom-right of the screen. Figure 2 shows the Entune display for a Camry, RAV4, or Camry HV, indicating the location of the Panel ID near the top-right or bottom-right of the screen.
  2. Insert the USB Drive SST into the vehicle USB port.
  3. Start the engine.
  4. Wait for the "Select Audio Source" screen to be displayed.
    Figure 3 displays the 'Select Audio Source' screen, showing various audio input options like AM, FM, CD, USB, Audio, AUX.
  5. Wait until the USB source icon highlights and displays the USB name with the icon.
    Figure 4 displays the 'Select Audio Source' screen, with the USB source icon highlighted, indicating it is ready for selection.
  6. Go to the Setup screen.
    A. For Entune™ Audio: Press the SETUP button on the panel.
    Figure 5 shows the Entune display for Entune™ Audio, with the 'SETUP' button highlighted on the panel.
    B. For Entune™ Audio Plus / Entune™ Premium Audio: Press the APPS button on the left of the panel.
    Figure 6 shows the Entune display for Entune™ Audio Plus or Entune™ Premium Audio, with the 'APPS' button highlighted on the left of the panel.
  7. Select Setup on the Apps screen.
    Figure 7 shows a pop-up related to accessing more applications, advising connection via Bluetooth, the Entune app, and a valid Entune account, with 'OK' and 'Do Not Tell Me Again' options. Figure 8 shows the 'Apps' screen with the 'Setup' option highlighted.
  8. Select General on the Setup screen.
    Figure 9 shows the 'Setup' screen with the 'General' option highlighted.
  9. Select Software Update from the list on the General Settings screen.
    HINT: Scroll down the list until Software Update is displayed. Figure 10 shows the 'General Settings' screen, with 'Software Update' highlighted in the list.
  10. Select Update on the Software Update screen.
    NOTE: If software has been detected properly, a "New software was found." pop-up will be displayed. Figure 11 shows the 'Software Update' screen, with the 'Update' option highlighted. Figure 12 shows the 'Software Update' screen indicating that new software has been found, displaying current and new version details for Device Driver and Audio.
  11. Verify that the new software is up-to-date on the Software Update screen.
    NOTE: Update Software is enabled only if there is an update newer than the current software. Figure 13 shows the 'Software Update' screen, displaying current and new versions for Operating System, Device Driver, and Audio.
  12. Select Update Software on the Software Update screen.
    Figure 14 shows the 'Software Update' screen, with the 'Update Software' button highlighted.
  13. Select Yes on the "Would you like to start the software update?" pop-up.
    Figure 15 displays a pop-up asking 'The new software is X MB. Would you like to start the software update?', with 'Yes' and 'No' options.
    NOTE (Entune™ Audio Plus only): Select left box on the "This preset is currently empty. Would you like to save [XXXX] as a preset?" pop-up. Figure 16 displays a pop-up specific to Entune™ Audio Plus, asking 'This preset is currently empty. Would you like to save [XXXX] as a preset?', with 'Yes' and 'No' options.
  14. The unit begins installation.
    NOTE: Do NOT turn off ACC before the software is ready for updating. Figure 17 shows the 'Software Update' screen indicating 'Installing the new software...' and 'Installing 1 of 12...'.
  15. When "The software is ready for updating." displays, cycle the ignition OFF and wait for 30 seconds. Then cycle the ignition ON again.
    Figure 18 displays the 'Software Update' screen stating 'The software is ready for updating.' and advises parking safely and cycling the ignition.
  16. Wait for the audio system to finish the software update.
    NOTICE: Do NOT turn off ACC before the next Toyota logo screen displays. Figure 19 shows the 'Software Update' screen indicating 'Updating the software...' and advising not to turn off the engine.
  17. When the Toyota logo screen is displayed, the update is finished.
    Figure 20 displays the Toyota logo screen, indicating the software update is complete. It includes a safety message in English and French.
  18. Remove the USB Drive SST from the vehicle USB port.

Software Version Confirmation

  1. Wait for the "Select Audio Source" screen to be displayed.
    Figure 21 displays the 'Select Audio Source' screen, similar to Figure 3, used for confirming the update.
  2. Perform steps 6 - 9 of the Software Update procedure to re-enter the Software Update screen.
  3. Verify that the software information is updated on the Software Update screen.
