Safety Instructions
- ⚠️ Not suitable for children under 6 years (contains small parts which could be swallowed).
- Do not operate cooling components without coolant. Coolers operated without coolant can become very hot (Burn Hazard!) and can destroy computer hardware. Always ensure the pump is functioning when the hardware is switched on.
- When tightening connectors/fittings, do not use tools like screwdrivers, pliers, or wrenches. Plastic parts or metal threaded connections linked with plastic are easily overloaded, leading to cracks or damage. Such damages and damages from leaking coolant are not covered under warranty.
- Use only connectors with a sealing O-ring. Hand-tightening is sufficient. Tools are only to be used in exceptional cases as indicated in the manual.
- Check your hardware and cooling system (tightness, pump function, fans) before assembly. This minimizes troubleshooting. Alphacool International GmbH is not liable for manufacturer warranty issues of electronic components. Assembly is at your own risk.
- Do not overtighten screws. Overtightening can loosen knurled nuts and compromise uniform cooler pressure.
- Fasten connections without tools. Connectors with 8mm long threads may restrict flow.
- Perform a tightness test before assembly/installation. Water pressure in the loop should not exceed 0.8 bar. Do not use tools on connectors.
- Ensure the cooler touches all components to be cooled via thermal grease and pads.
- Use only distilled water or Alphacool Cape Kelvin Catcher in your cooling circuit. Damage from unsuitable coolant is not covered by warranty.
Installation Steps
Step 1: Preparation and Disassembly
- Place hardware on an antistatic mat.
- Begin dismantling the original cooler. Remove screws at the back of the card and carefully unhook the fan connector first, depending on the cooler's structure.
- Exercise extreme care if the original cooler uses thermal glue to avoid damaging parts.
- Collect all items carefully.
- Clean the hardware of thermal paste or pad residues with a solvent (e.g., alcohol).
- Before starting cooler assembly, compare your card with the provided image to ensure compatibility, as manufacturers may revise designs.
- During assembly, ensure taller parts have adequate clearance and the cooler does not damage your graphics card. Alphacool International GmbH is not liable for assembly errors due to negligence, such as selecting an incompatible cooler.
Step 2: Pad Placement
- Clean the contact surfaces on the bottom side of the cooler with alcohol or similar. The surface must be free of contaminants.
- Remove the protective foils from the thermal pads and place the pads on the copper block as shown in the diagram.
Step 3: Thermal Paste Application
- Using a plastic strip or similar tool, spread a thin layer of thermal paste on the GPU.
- The layer should be less than a millimeter thick; otherwise, surrounding components may be contaminated unnecessarily.
Step 4: Mounting the Graphics Card
- Place the graphics card on the prepared cooler.
- Fasten the card using the 11 M2x5 screws as shown.
- Hand-tighten the screws crosswise, one turn at a time.
Step 5: Retightening Screws
- Retighten all screws after approximately 12 hours of graphics card usage.
Step 6: Digital-RGB Connection
- To control digital-RGB lighting, connect the included adapter to the 3-pin female connector.
- Plug the adapter into a digital-RGB controller (e.g., Alphacool Aurora Eiscontrol, Art.: 15360, not included).
- Additional digital-RGB LEDs can be connected to the remaining 3-pin male connector.
Step 7: Closing Inlets
- Close any inlets not needed for tubing.
- Screw in the screw plugs using the enclosed tool.
