Getting Started

1. Connection: Plug the 3.5mm Microphone Cable into the 3.5mm headphone or dedicated microphone jack on your computer, smartphone, or stereo system. For devices like laptops that only have one 3.5mm port, a splitter cable (if applicable) can be used to connect the microphone and your speakers through a single input.

2. Windows Setup: If using with a Windows computer, select "Listen to this device" under "Record Devices" in the "Sounds" settings (accessible via Control Panel). Set the microphone's "Levels" to the highest setting.

3. Usage: Use with video chat applications like Skype, recording software for narration, podcasts, or vocals.

Laptop or PC Installation

For devices with two 3.5mm ports (Input & Output): Connect the microphone plug to the input port (Mic interface).

For devices with only one 3.5mm port: Connect the microphone plug directly to the AUX port.

Locate the microphone jack on your laptop (usually on the side) or PC (usually on the back).

Windows 7/8/10 Installation (3.5mm Jack)

Step 1: Access Sound Settings

Right-click the volume icon [volume icon] in the lower-right corner of your Windows taskbar.

Select "Recording devices" from the context menu.

Step 2: Configure Microphone

In the "Sound" window, navigate to the "Recording" tab.

Identify your microphone device. If plugged in, a "mic jack device" should appear.

Click on your microphone device once, then click the "Set Default" button.

Step 3: Adjust Levels

Click "Properties" for your microphone.

Go to the "Levels" tab.

Enable "Listen to this device" to monitor your microphone input.

Adjust the "Volume" slider to the highest level.

Adjust the "Microphone Boost" slider to the lowest setting (recommended 0). If "Microphone Boost" is not available, go to the "Custom" tab and uncheck the "AGC" option.

Click "OK" to save changes.

Power Management Note: Ensure power management settings do not disable the microphone when on battery power or to save power.

Phone, Tablet, or Xbox Installation

Connect the microphone cable to the splitter cable marked "microphone".

Connect the splitter jack to your phone or tablet. Remove the phone case if necessary to ensure a secure connection.

Note: The phone's internal speaker will be muted upon connecting the splitter. Connect an external speaker to your phone if you need to hear audio while recording.

iOS Installation

Open the "Voice Memo" app.

Tap the red record button [record button] to start recording.

Tap the microphone a few times to confirm the sound source is the external microphone.

Android Installation

Open the "Voice Recorder" app.

Insert your microphone using the adapter. A popup window should appear stating "EXTERNAL MIC WILL BE USED TO RECORD".

Tap the red record button [record button] to start recording.

Tap the microphone a few times to confirm the sound source is the external microphone, not the phone's internal mic.

You can also try recording using the Android or iOS video recorder app.

Troubleshooting Guide

Microphone not picking up voice on PC/Laptop:

Check the Jack: Ensure you are using the correct jack on your PC/laptop, typically marked with a microphone icon or the word "mic". Avoid using "Line-IN" or "Stereo" jacks, as this microphone requires phantom power which these ports may not provide.

Set as Default: Make sure the microphone is set as the default recording device. Right-click the volume icon [volume icon], select "Recording devices", locate your microphone, click it once, and then click "Set Default".

Buzzing sound:

The microphone boost might be set too high. This is a high-sensitivity condenser microphone, so boosting is often unnecessary. Reduce the level or set it to 0.

To adjust levels: Right-click the volume icon [volume icon], select "Recording devices", double-click your microphone, go to the "Levels" tab, and set "Microphone Boost" to 0. If "Microphone Boost" is unavailable, go to the "Custom" tab and uncheck the "AGC" option.
