This guide provides essential information for operating your Konica Minolta bizhub multifunction printer.

How to Use the System - Panel

The system panel provides access to various functions. Key components include:

  • Status indicator: Displays the current operational status.
  • Touch panel: The primary interface for interacting with the device.
  • Keypad KP-102 (option): An optional physical keypad for input.
  • Power indicator: Shows the power status.
  • Energy Safe Mode on/off: Button to activate or deactivate energy-saving mode.
  • Reset the settings: Button to reset current settings.
  • Stop a process: Button to halt an ongoing operation.
  • Start a process: Button to initiate an operation.

Operating the Touch Screen

Interact with the touch screen using the following gestures:

Touch Screen - Home

The home screen provides quick access to common functions and status information:

  • User ID: Displays when the menu is open.

  • Open/close menu: Access the main menu.

Displaying and Moving the Keypad

Displaying the keypad: Tap on a numeral or input area to bring up the keypad. The optional hardware keypad KP-102 can also be used.

Moving the keypad: Touch the upper side of the keypad and drag it to a preferred position on the screen.

Basic Copy Functions - Make a Copy

Follow these steps to make a copy:

  1. Position the original(s) on the scanner glass or in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).
  2. Tap ?️ (Copy) or Quick Copy on the home screen.
  3. Set your desired copy options (e.g., color, paper size, density).
  4. Tap ▶️ (Start).

Zoom Function

Adjust the size of your copies using the zoom feature:

  1. Position the original(s).
  2. Tap ?️ (Copy) on the home screen.

  5. Make your desired zoom settings (e.g., percentage, fit to paper).

You can automatically reduce/enlarge the original size to fit the paper, or change the zoom manually. Preset zoom values are also available.

Copy Operations - Settings

The Copy and Quick Copy screens offer various settings to customize your copies:

Original DirectionSelect orientation of the original loaded into ADF or placed on the original glass.
Mixed OriginalScan originals of different sizes.
Original SettingConfigure settings to properly scan thin or folded paper.
Blank Page RemovalSkip blank pages.
Original SizeSpecify the size of the original when it is not detected correctly.
Automatic Image RotationRotate the original image according to paper direction (switched on as default).

Duplex Settings

Configure duplex (2-sided) scanning and copying:

  2. Tap ?️ (Copy) on the home screen.

  5. Specify the original binding position (e.g., top, side).

Scan to E-mail (Direct Input)

Send scanned documents directly via email:

  1. Position the original(s).
  2. Tap ✉️ (Scan to Email) on the home screen.
  3. Tap ➕ (Add New Destination).
  4. Enter the destination email address.
  5. Tap ✔️ (OK).
  6. Specify any additional scan settings as needed.

Scan documents and save them directly to a PC:

  4. Specify two or more destinations, or select a pre-defined group.
  5. Tap ✔️ (OK).
  6. Tap ▶️ (Start). The file is sent.

Search for a Destination (Address Book)

Find registered destinations:

  1. Position the original(s).

  4. Choose a search method: Name Search, Address Search, or Search Box No.
  5. Enter the search text and tap Search.

Register a Destination (Address Book)

Add new destinations to the address book:
