System Requirements (UT372)
To use the UT372 Interface Program, the following hardware and software are required:
- An IBM PC or equivalent computer with an 80586 or higher processor and a monitor with a resolution of 600 x 800 pixels or better.
- Microsoft Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows VISTA, or Windows 7 operating system.
- At least 128MB of RAM.
- Access to a local or network CD-ROM drive.
- A USB port.
- A mouse or other pointing device supported by Windows.
Hardware Install:
To install the multimeter's USB connection, connect the provided USB cable to the computer. Ensure the correct USB driver is installed. The connection process involves plugging the USB cable into the multimeter and then into the computer.
Installing UT372 Interface Program
To install the UT372 Interface Program, follow these steps:
- Before installing, ensure your computer is running Windows 98 or a later operating system.
- Insert the provided CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
- Double-click the 'My Computer' icon on the Windows desktop.
- Navigate to the CD-ROM drive and locate the UT372 installation files, including 'autorun.inf', 'icon.ico', and 'UT372_V2.01.exe'.
- Double-click 'Setup.Exe' to begin the installation process.
- Follow the on-screen installation instructions provided by the InstallShield Wizard. This includes preparing the installation and selecting the destination folder (default is 'C:\Program Files\DMM\UT372\').
- Once the software installation is complete, the InstallShield Wizard will indicate success. Click 'Finish' to exit.
- The installed software can be found in the 'DMM Interface Program - UT372' folder within your program files.
Getting Started with UT372 Interface Program
- From the Windows Start menu, navigate to 'Programs' > 'DMM Interface Program' > 'UT372'.
- Press the 'USB connect' button.
- Press 'Connect' from the menu bar to establish the connection. A connection status icon will be displayed.
The software interface displays the LCD readings, connection status, and a graphic area for data visualization. Key functions include:
- Repeat: Click to enable or disable repeated record display. Repeated records are shown graphically regardless of this setting.
- Sampling Interval: Enable or disable the sampling interval function. Enter the desired sampling interval time in seconds.
- Clear: Permanently clear all current records.
- Open: Load records from an existing file (*.xls, *.txt, *.xml).
- Save: Save current records to a file (*.xls, *.txt, *.xml).
- Print: Print the current records.
Graphic Operation
The graphic operation section allows for data visualization:
- Fill: Select 'fill-up graph' or 'line graph'.
- Record: Set the number of records to be displayed on the graphic.
- Clear: Clear all current records' graphics.
- Save: Save the current graphic in BMP format.
- Navigation: Use 'First', 'Previous', 'Next', and 'Last' to navigate through recorded graphics.
- Zoom: Enlarge a specific part of the graphic.
Maximum Number of Records Setting
The following are the approximate maximum number of records a computer can save without performance degradation:
- 80486 computer: 1000 to 5000 records
- 80586 computer: 5000 to 50000 records
- Pentium 2 or up: 50000 records and above
The maximum number of records can be set via the 'Record' option in the menu bar.
