Carefully read through this Service Guide for a look at various components of the device before performing any service and repairs.
To provide the best service, ASUS has provided the below information for technicians from distributors and resellers to perform the complete device disassembly and assembly. Before performing the procedures, please be sure to read through the overview in this service guide for component overview to avoid any unwarranted damages to the device hardware.
The following contents include all part numbers mentioned in the service guide are used for reference only. If you need the exact part number for ordering, please refer to the OrderBook.

Repair Overview
Precautions
- Before performing any service or repair on the notebook, pay special attention to the cautions to prevent any damages.
- Ensure the notebook is powered down.
- Before disassembling any part, disconnect all power sources (e.g., AC plug, Battery connector, Power protect screw).
- Remove all rings, watches, and any other metal objects from your hands.
- Always wear a ground strap on your hand to protect the notebook from static discharge.
- Refer to “ANSI ESD S20.20” for ESD protection measures.
- Place disassembled parts in a functional PE BAG to avoid damage.
- Maintenance environment: temperature 20-30 °C and humidity 40%-70%.
- To avoid scratching the machine surface, use anti-static and soft materials on the desk.
Screw Appearance Criteria
Do not use screws with the following damaged appearance:
- a. Shape deformed.
- b. Damaged head (unable to drive in or stripped).
- c. Damaged (unable to securely tighten).
- d. Paint scratched off.
- e. Rusty.

Prepare and select the appropriate tools to disassemble/assemble the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 (2021 GA401Q/I) series notebook.

Warning: When tools have Liquid Metal or Thermally Conductive Elastomer (RV289) residue, clean them with dust-free cloth and 95% alcohol.
Storage Notes: Liquid Metal components should be stored between 10-40°C and kept tightly closed. RV289 should be stored under 27°C and kept tightly closed. Some items may be classified as Dangerous Goods.
BOTTOM CASE Disassembly

Step 1: Remove screws *13pcs.
Step 2: Use plastic blade to pry the bottom case.

Diagrams show screw locations and prying points. ⚠️ Note: The screw that is difficult to remove should be loosened last and tightened first. To avoid damaging the bottom case hooks, do not insert the plastic blade into the red-circled areas. Follow the arrow direction and use the plastic blade to pry the bottom case at the blue-circled locations.
BATTERY Disassembly
Disassembly Notice
Please be sure to pull out the adapter and disconnect the battery.
Caution: Before disconnecting the battery connector, ensure the adapter is pulled out and the battery is disconnected for at least ten seconds to prevent IC damage.
Step 1: Disconnect the battery connector.
Step 2: Remove screws *4pcs.
Step 3: Remove BATTERY.

Assembly Notice
To prevent short circuits or electric shock, follow these steps to connect the battery connector:
Step 1: Use a non-conductive pry tool to connect the black cable side first, then connect the red cable side.
Step 2: Use the non-conductive pry tool to push the iron sheet.
Battery Specifications: Rated +15.4V, Capacity 4940mAh (Typical)/4800mAh (Rated).
RTC BATTERY Disassembly
Disassembly Notice
Please be sure to pull out the adapter and disconnect the battery.
Caution: Before disconnecting the battery connector, ensure the adapter is pulled out and the battery is disconnected for at least ten seconds to prevent IC damage.
Step 1: Disconnect the RTC battery connector.
Step 2: Remove RTC BATTERY.

DDR Disassembly
Disassembly Notice
Please be sure to pull out the adapter and disconnect the battery.
Step 1: Remove the Mylar.
Step 2: Unlock DDR.
Step 3: Remove DDR.
Diagrams show Mylar removal, DDR unlocking clips, and DDR module removal. The DDR module is identified as SAMSUNG M471A2G43AB2-CWE PC4-3200AA.
Assembly Notice
Please make sure to paste ABSORBER on the front and back side of DDR before assembling the DDR.
SSD Disassembly

Step 1: Remove the SSD Mylar.
Step 2: Remove the screws *1pcs.
Step 3: Remove SSD.

SPEAKER Disassembly

Step 1: Disconnect the SPEAKER connector.
Step 2: Remove SPEAKER.

FAN (with THERMAL MODULE and MAIN BOARD) Disassembly

Please be sure to pull out the adapter and disconnect the battery.
Step 1: Disconnect connectors (yellow mark) *9pcs.
Step 2: Remove screws (blue mark) *4pcs.
Step 3: Remove MB and Thermal and FAN module.
Step 4: Remove FAN *2pcs.

THERMAL MODULE Disassembly
Disassembly Notice
Please be sure to pull out the adapter and disconnect the battery.
Step 1: Remove screws *8pcs following the reverse screw numbers.
Step 2: Remove the THERMAL MODULE from MB.
Recommendation: Apply force at the green block and pull the thermal module upwards. Do not pull at the red block, and ensure the thermal pipe is not deformed.

Assembly Notice
Step-1: THERMAL MODULE Location: [VRAM/CHOKE/MOS]. Material: FCR-AS Grease.
MB Location: [GPU]. Material: Main (Thermal Pad PTM7958).
Step-2: MB Location: [CPU].
Step-3: Please follow the screw numbers to lock screws *8pcs.
Important: Thermal paste, thermal pads, liquid metal, or other thermal interface materials must be thoroughly removed and replaced if this component is removed. Ensure replacement materials are available before proceeding, or contact an authorized service center.
WARNING! The heat sink contains liquid metal and should only be removed by authorized service personnel. Significant damage may occur to motherboard components if the heat sink is improperly removed.

LCD BEZEL Disassembly
Disassembly Notice
Please be sure to pull out the adapter and disconnect the battery.
Step 1: Remove LCD BEZEL.
Instructions: Start from the middle area of each side of the bezel. Hold the outer edge firmly with your forefinger and flip the bezel inner edge outward to release the hooks. This can be easier if you hold the bezel outer edge firmly with your forefinger.
Note: Due to tapes behind the lower edge of the bezel, use a plastic blade to carefully separate the bezel. Follow the red arrow direction, moving the plastic blade from left to right. Peel the bezel away slowly, moving the blade parallel to the panel and pressing the black Mylar downward (as circled in green) to ensure the black Mylar and tape behind the bezel are well separated. Move the blade slowly and press the black Mylar downward parallel to the panel.
Assembly Notice
When reusing the LCD BEZEL: Please paste new LCD BEZEL ADHESIVE before assembly. The new LCD BEZEL already contains LCD BEZEL ADHESIVE *1pcs.
LCD PANEL Disassembly
Disassembly Notice
Please be sure to pull out the adapter and disconnect the battery.
Step 1: Remove screws *8pcs, and remove Hinge *2pcs.
Step 2: Remove screws *4pcs, and remove hinge cap *2pcs & hinge DECO rubber *2pcs.
Step 3: Pull out LCD adhesive *2pcs.
Step 4: Remove LCD PANEL.

Step 4 shows flipping the panel and disconnecting MIC cable and EDP cable.
Assembly Notice
A. When reuse the LCD PANEL: Please use your fingertip to clean the residual glue on PANEL or BEZEL.
B. When reuse the LCD COVER: Please paste new PANEL ADHESIVE *2pcs. (New LCD COVER already contains PANEL ADHESIVE *2pcs).
C. Please follow the green marks to tidy MIC FPC and Antenna.

D. When assembly the LCD PANEL: (Operation example) Step 1~2: Paste NB LCD MYLAR *4pcs on LCD COVER (Upper Left Corner: Mylar *2pcs, Upper Right Corner: Mylar *2pcs).
Step 3: Remove release paper of LCD Adhesive *2pcs.
Step 4: Assemble and align the LCD to the upper side of the LCD Cover.
Step 5: Remove Mylar *4pcs and complete the Panel assembly.
E. When reassembly PANEL: Please make sure to paste Panel Back Mylar.
