MODIS™ Family and SOLUS Edge™ Code Scan and Vehicle System Report

This document provides instructions for using Snap-on diagnostic tools to generate and manage Vehicle System Reports.

Overview

Selecting 'Code Scan' initiates an active scan of a vehicle's control modules. The results are compiled into a Vehicle System Report, which can be printed using ALTUS or ShopStream Connect™ (SSC). The report can also be shared via email, text, and social media when using ALTUS.

Setting Up the Vehicle System Report

To customize your Vehicle System Report, use ShopStream Connect (SSC) to add your shop's name, address, and phone number, and to set up a date and time stamp.

ShopStream Connect Setup and Connection

  1. Download and install the ShopStream Connect (SSC) software on your PC.
  2. Connect the diagnostic tool to the PC using the supplied USB cable.
  3. On the diagnostic tool, navigate to the Home screen, select 'Tools', then select 'Connect-to-PC'.
  4. Open the SSC application on your PC. If it does not launch automatically, open it manually.
  5. In the SSC application's file directory (left side), double-click the drive corresponding to your diagnostic tool's name to view saved files.

Adding Your Shop Information to the Report

You can include your shop's information in the report header and add a timestamp:

  1. In SSC, go to 'Tools' > 'Options' > 'Edit Shop Info'.
  2. The 'Shop Info' dialog box will open, allowing you to enter your shop's name, address, and phone number. This information will appear in the report header. A preview panel shows how the information will look when printed.
  3. Check the 'Use Shop Info in Printout Header' box to include your shop information in the printout.
  4. Check the 'Use timestamp in Vehicle System Report' box to include the scan time in the printout.
  5. Select 'Save' to confirm your changes and close the dialog box.

Your setup is now complete to begin creating Vehicle System Reports.

Using Code Scan to Scan Vehicle Systems

After connecting to and identifying a vehicle via 'Scanner' on your diagnostic tool, select 'Code Scan' from the Vehicle System menu to begin scanning vehicle control modules.

During the scan, the total number of systems analyzed is displayed at the top of the screen.

Once the scan is complete, the report is automatically saved and can be viewed on the diagnostic tool:

  1. From the Home screen, select 'Previous Vehicles and Data'.
  2. Select 'View Saved Data'.
  3. Choose the code scan report file from the list to view it.

Note: Vehicle System Reports are automatically uploaded to ALTUSdrive.com when saved (requires Wi-Fi connection and registration). Refer to "Printing From ALTUS" for printing instructions using ALTUS. For more information on Code Scan, consult your diagnostic tool's user manual at www.snapon.com/diagnostics/us/UserManuals.

  2. Click on the editable fields to change values or add notes.
  3. Check the 'Add the notes to the printed copy' box to include your notes in the printed report.
