Assembly Instructions
Step 1: Mark Openings
Mark the center of the sidelight opening and the center of the blind (A) with a pencil (not included).
Diagram shows a pencil marking a point on the top edge of a sidelight window frame and on the blind headrail.
Step 2: Position Mounting Brackets
Slide mounting brackets (AA) onto each end of the blind (A) headrail. Position the blind (A) in the window, either on the inside or outside, and align the center marks. Mark the position of the mounting brackets (AA) with a pencil.
Diagram shows mounting brackets (AA) attached to the blind headrail. Two scenarios are shown: 'Inside Mount' where the blind is within the window frame, and 'Outside Mount' where it's mounted on the wall outside the frame. Pencil marks indicate bracket placement on the frame/wall.
Hardware Used: AA Mounting Bracket x 2
Step 3: Attach Mounting Brackets
Remove mounting brackets (AA) from the blind (A), align them with the pencil marks, and attach them to the sidelight frame or wall using 2 large screws (DD) per bracket. Note: Use a 3/32 in. drill bit (not included) to pre-drill pilot holes as needed.
Hardware Used: DD Large Screw
Diagram shows mounting brackets (AA) being screwed into the window frame/wall using large screws (DD). Shows 'Inside Mount' and 'Outside Mount' examples.
Step 3a (Optional): Install Spacers
Optionally, install small spacers (EE) or large spacers (FF) behind the mounting brackets (AA) if more clearance is needed behind the blind (A). Place the spacer behind the mounting bracket (AA), aligning it against the inside edge of the top and side trim. This allows the mounting bracket (AA) to be spaced up to 1/2 inch further apart on each side of the blind's headrail.
Hardware Used: DD Large Screw, EE Small Spacer, FF Large Spacer
Diagram shows optional placement of small (EE) or large (FF) spacers behind mounting brackets (AA) before screwing them into the wall/frame.
Step 4: Connect Wand
Connect the wand (C) by inserting the wand connector (JJ) into both pieces of the wand (C).
Hardware Used: JJ Wand Connector x 1
Diagram shows two pieces of the wand (C) being joined by the wand connector (JJ).
Step 5: Install Wand
Install the wand (C) by gripping and pulling the wand tilter, located on the left-hand side of the blind (A) headrail.
Diagram shows a hand gripping the wand (C) and pulling the wand tilter mechanism located on the blind headrail.
Step 6: Hook Wand
Hook the wand (C) into the wand tilter.
Diagram shows the wand (C) being hooked into the wand tilter mechanism.
Step 7: Attach Valance Clips
Attach valance clips (GG) to the blind (A) headrail (optional). Hang the blind (A) and snap the locking tabs of the mounting brackets (AA).
Hardware Used: GG Valance Clips
Diagram shows valance clips (GG) being attached to the blind headrail. Another part of the diagram shows the blind being hung and the locking tabs of the mounting brackets (AA) engaging.
Step 8 (Optional): Install Hold Down Brackets
To install hold down brackets (BB), lower the blind (A) to the desired position. Screw the hold down brackets (BB) into the wall or window sill using medium screws (CC) and attach the blind (A) to the hole in the cap on the bottom rail.
Hardware Used: BB Hold Down Bracket x 2, CC Medium Screw x 4
Diagram shows hold-down brackets (BB) being screwed into the window sill or wall at the bottom of the blind, with the blind's bottom rail secured to them.
Step 9 (Optional): Slide Valance
Slide the valance (B) onto the valance clips (GG) as needed to center the valance (B).
Hardware Used: GG Valance Clips
Diagram shows the valance (B) being slid onto the previously installed valance clips (GG) on the blind headrail.
Step 10 (Optional): Attach Valance Returns
Attach valance returns (HH) by inserting valance connectors (II) into the ends of the valance (B).
Hardware Used: HH Valance Return x 2, II Valance Return Connector x 2
Diagram shows valance returns (HH) being attached to the valance (B) using valance return connectors (II).
Adjust Length of Blind
CAUTION: REMOVAL OF MORE THAN 5 SLATS WILL VOID THE WARRANTY.
Step 1: Lower and Cut Slats
Lower the blind (A) to its maximum length. Cut the desired number of the bottom-most slats, leaving the bottom rail as is. The blind (A) can be shortened by a maximum of 5 slats (up to 10 inches) without affecting operation.
Diagram shows scissors cutting the bottom-most slats of the blind (A).
Step 2: Remove Cut Slats
Remove the cut slats.
Diagram shows the cut slats being pulled away from the blind.
Step 3: Cut Ladder Strings
Cut the excess horizontal ladder strings. CAUTION: Do not cut the vertical ladder strings, as this will void the warranty.
Diagram shows scissors cutting the horizontal strings that connect the slats, with a warning symbol next to the vertical strings.
Step 4: Remove Bottom Rail Plugs
Remove the plugs from the bottom rail using a flathead screwdriver (not included).
Diagram shows a flathead screwdriver removing a plug from the bottom rail of the blind.
Step 5: Slide Bottom Rail
Slide the bottom rail up to 1 inch below the newest bottom slat.
Diagram shows the bottom rail being slid upwards to a new position.
Step 6: Replace Cords and Plugs
Twist the cords back into the bottom rail and replace the plugs.
Diagram shows cords being tucked into the bottom rail and plugs being reinserted.
Operating Instructions
Step 1: Raise or Lower Blind
To raise or lower the blind (A), grip the bottom rail and lift or lower the bottom rail to the desired height.
Diagram shows a hand gripping the bottom rail of the blind (A) and moving it up or down.
Step 2: Open or Close Slats
Open or close the blind (A) slats by turning the wand (C) until the slats are opened or closed to the desired amount.
Diagram shows the wand (C) being turned, which causes the slats of the blind (A) to open or close.
