WET & DRY VACUUM Components:

Accessories:

Diagram Description: The main body of the vacuum cleaner is a cylindrical tank (15) with a motor housing (2) on top. A carry handle (1) is attached to the motor housing. The suction hose (3) connects to the vacuum inlet (12) or blow outlet (7). Extension tubes (9) and accessories like the floor tool (11) or crevice nozzle (20) attach to the hose. Castors (14) are located at the base of the tank for mobility. A water drain outlet (13) is present on the tank. A cable hook (8) is provided for cord storage. Motor securing clips (16) attach the motor to the tank. An accessory mount (17) is also present.

Setup & Preparation

1. ASSEMBLY

[warning-symbol] ENSURE THE TOOL IS DISCONNECTED FROM THE POWER SUPPLY BEFORE PERFORMING ANY OF THE FOLLOWING OPERATIONS.

Assembling the Castors

  1. Turn the container upside down.
  2. Insert the castor assemblies into the base of the tank.

Fitting the Motor

  1. When fitting the motor to the tank, position it so that the motor securing clips on the tank align with the fastening points on the motor.
  2. Fasten the motor securing clips to the motor, making sure that they lock into place correctly.
  3. To remove the motor, open the motor securing clip and lift the motor out of the tank.

Fitting the Handle

  1. Align the holes on either side of the handle with the holes in the top side of the motor.
  2. Insert two screws (supplied) into the handle and tighten with a screwdriver (not supplied).

Fitting Filters and Bags

Fitting a Dust Bag (not included)

For vacuuming fine, dry dirt, it is recommended that you fit a 30-litre dust bag. This will ensure that the pleated filter does not clog up so quickly and help maintain vacuuming power. A dust bag is suitable for dry vacuuming only. Using the dust bag makes it easier to dispose of the collected dust.

  1. To attach, slip the dust bag over the vacuum inlet.

2. FITTING THE FILTER

[important-symbol] NEVER USE THE WET AND DRY VACUUM CLEANER WITHOUT A FILTER! ALWAYS ENSURE THAT THE FILTERS ARE PERFECTLY SECURE!

Fitting the Foam Filter - Vacuuming Liquid

For wet-vacuuming, slip the supplied foam filter over the filter basket.

NOTE: Do not use the pleated filter and/or dust bag when vacuuming liquid.

Fitting the Pleated Filter - Vacuuming Dry Matter

  1. For dry vacuum cleaning, always use the pleated filter. Mount the pleated filter so that no air is sucked through the filter cage without being filtered.
  2. Place the cap on the base of the pleated filter, turn clockwise to lock in position.

NOTE: Do not use the foam filter when vacuuming dry matter.

Operation

3. FITTING HOSES & NOZZLES

Connect the suction hose to the corresponding connector on the wet and dry vacuum, depending on the application required:

Vacuuming

Connect the suction hose to the vacuum inlet.

Blowing

Connect the suction hose to the blow outlet.

Extension Tube and Adaptor

  1. The suction hose can be extended by attaching one or more sections of the 3-part extension tubes.
  2. The adapter must be inserted between the extension tube and whichever of the nozzles is required.

Suction Tools

4. OPERATION

[caution-symbol] TO REDUCE THE RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK, A RESIDUAL CURRENT DEVICE (RATED 30mA OR LESS) SHOULD BE USED.

[important-symbol] SWITCH OFF THE EQUIPMENT IF LIQUID OR FOAM IS EMITTED WITH THE EXHAUST AIR WHEN WET VACUUM CLEANING.

On/Off Switch

Dry Vacuuming

Use the pleated filter for dry vacuuming (see 2. Fitting the Filter). Check that the filter is securely fitted at all times.

Wet Vacuuming

For wet-vacuuming, use the foam filter (see 2. Fitting the Filter). Check that the filter is securely fitted at all times.

NOTE: When wet vacuuming, the safety float closes when the maximum tank level is reached. At the same time, the suction noise of the equipment will change and become louder. You must then switch off the equipment and empty the tank.

[important-symbol] THE WET AND DRY VACUUM CLEANER IS NOT SUITABLE FOR THE VACUUMING OF COMBUSTIBLE LIQUIDS.

Water Drain Outlet

To make the tank easier to empty after wet vacuuming, it is fitted with a water drain outlet. Open the water drain outlet by turning it anticlockwise and drain the liquid.

Maintenance

5. CLEANING & STORING

[important-symbol] BEFORE CLEANING YOUR WET & DRY VAC OR CARRYING OUT ANY MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE, MAKE SURE THAT THE MOTOR IS OFF AND THE VAC DISCONNECTED FROM THE POWER SUPPLY TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL STARTING.

Cleaning

Keep all safety devices, air vents, and the motor housing free of dirt and dust as far as possible. We recommend that you clean the equipment immediately after you use it.

Storing

Ensure the Wet & Dry Vac has been fully emptied of any dry matter or liquid before it is stored.

Safety Information

Electrical Safety

[warning-symbol] WARNING! When using mains-powered tools, basic safety precautions, including the following, should always be followed to reduce risk of fire, electric shock, personal injury and material damage.

Read the whole manual carefully and make sure you know how to switch the tool off in an emergency, before operating the tool. Save these instructions and other documents supplied with this tool for future reference.

The electric motor has been designed for 230V and 240V only. Always check that the power supply corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate.

Note: The supply of 230V and 240V on Ozito tools are interchangeable for Australia and New Zealand.

Note: The power outlet used for the vacuum must be protected by a 30mA residual current device or earth leakage circuit breaker.

If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by an electrician or a power tool repairer in order to avoid a hazard.

Note: Double insulation does not take the place of normal safety precautions when operating this tool. The insulation system is for added protection against injury resulting from a possible electrical insulation failure within the tool.

Using an Extension Lead

Always use an approved extension lead suitable for the power input of this tool. Before use, inspect the extension lead for signs of damage, wear and ageing. Replace the extension lead if damaged or defective.

When using an extension lead on a reel, always unwind the lead completely. Use of an extension lead not suitable for the power input of the tool or which is damaged or defective may result in a risk of fire and electric shock.

General Power Tool Safety Warnings

[warning-symbol] WARNING! Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference. The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.

  1. Work area safety
    • Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
    • Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
    • Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
  2. Electrical safety
    • Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
    • Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
    • Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
    • Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
    • When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
    • If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply with a rated residual current of 30 mA or less. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
  3. Personal safety
    • Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
    • Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
    • Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
    • Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
    • Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
    • Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
    • If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.
  4. Power tool use and care
    • Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
    • Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
    • Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
    • Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
    • Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool's operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
    • Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
    • Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
  5. Service
    • Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
    • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
