About the PLATSA System

The PLATSA series offers versatile sleep and storage solutions for any space in your home, from small to large. This modular system features open, lightweight frames that can be combined to build high or low structures, fitting under sloping ceilings or along entire walls. You can easily add doors, shelves, wire baskets, and hooks to customize the system to your needs. The PLATSA system is designed for flexibility, allowing you to reconfigure or add new features as your requirements change.

Care and Cleaning

To maintain your PLATSA furniture, wipe clean with a cloth dampened in a mild cleaner. Afterward, dry with a clean, dry cloth.

Assembly

IMPORTANT: Two persons are required to assemble this furniture safely.

Storage and Media Solutions

The PLATSA system's various frame sizes provide flexibility for creating storage and media solutions tailored to your home. Whether building under a staircase, around a window, or above a door, the possibilities are extensive. By combining PLATSA frames with HJÄLPA and LÄTTHET interior and exterior components, you can achieve a personalized solution. You can also choose from suggested combinations or create your own unique setup.

Easy Assembly and Disassembly: PLATSA frames feature a wedge dowel fitting, making them quick and easy to assemble and disassemble. This facilitates moving your storage solution when relocating.

PLATSA Open: PLATSA open units are individual frames with adjustable interiors. These frames do not have wedge dowel fittings but are designed with a simple construction for minimal assembly time.

Safety: For safety, always attach PLATSA frames to a wall. Wall attachment devices are sold separately as different wall materials require different fixings. If stacking frames, ensure frames at 3 meters or above are secured to the wall using the LÄTTHET suspension rail. The LÄTTHET suspension rail should also be used for wall-mounted PLATSA frames. Warning: Do not hang PLATSA frames with a depth of 55 cm on the wall; they must be placed on the floor or stacked on another floor-standing frame.

Steps to Create Your Solution:

Choose Frames: Consider the available space in your room and utilize different frame sizes to maximize unused areas.
Select Doors and Drawer Fronts: Choose the style that best suits your preference, from plain white to more traditional designs or dark grey options.
Choose Interiors and Exteriors: Plan your storage needs by selecting HJÄLPA interiors, such as shelves, drawers, and baskets. Complete the look with doors and handles. Integrated lighting can also be added for enhanced functionality.

Sleep and Storage Solutions

The PLATSA bed system allows you to create a personalized sleeping and storage area. It can serve as a room divider, part of a walk-in closet, or a freestanding element to define a room's dynamic. You can build storage solutions by adding PLATSA frames (60/120/180 cm high and 40 cm deep) on top of the footboard, complemented by LÄTTHET footboard panels, HJÄLPA interiors, and doors. The sides underneath the bed can be customized with HJÄLPA interiors and storage boxes. Slats, legs, and a top panel are included with the bed.

The LÄTTHET footboard panel adds stability and a smooth surface to the back of the PLATSA frames, creating a finished look.

Easy Assembly and Disassembly (Bed):

The PLATSA bed is quick and easy to assemble and disassemble thanks to its wedge dowel fitting, making it convenient for moving.

Safety (Bed):

The maximum building height from the floor to the top of the footboard (excluding the top panel) is 220 cm. Warning: Do not drill holes into the footboard panel. For decorative purposes, consider using no-drill hooks for hanging frames. Maximum load is 6 kg.

Steps to Create Your PLATSA Bed Solution:

Bed Frame: Consider your storage needs and how the bed will be positioned in your room, including utilizing the storage space underneath.
Choose Frames for the Footboard: Select frames based on the bed's role (e.g., room divider) and your storage requirements (hanging clothes, books, etc.).
Footboard Panel: Choose the number of footboard panels needed. Panels are 60 cm high, allowing for frame heights of 60/120/180 cm.
Choose Interiors: Select interiors based on your daily needs and what you plan to store. Add boxes, inserts, and integrated lighting for a complete solution.
Pick Style for Doors and Drawer Fronts: Choose the aesthetic for your wardrobe doors and drawer fronts.
Choose Mattress and Mattress Topper: Ensure the mattress is between 120-140 cm wide and 200 cm long.

How to Build LARKOLLEN Sliding Doors

LARKOLLEN sliding doors are compatible with all PLATSA frame sizes and are available in widths of 60 cm and 80 cm. Both are 240 cm long, and multiple doors can be created from one roll of felt. Planning these doors can be detailed, requiring accurate measurements. IKEA.com offers a planner tool to assist with this process.

LARKOLLEN handles: Available in two sizes (H180 cm and H60 cm). May require cutting for specific PLATSA frame heights. Sold separately with felt panels and rails.

Hanging Storage for Big and Small Things:

Adjustable clothes rails are ideal for shirts, blouses, suit jackets, and coats. Use fittings when mounting rails to frames. Hooks on suspension rails can be used for ties, handbags, and jewelry.

Storage Inside and Outside Your Wardrobes:

HJÄLPA adjustable clothes rails can be used within frames, between frames, between a frame and a wall, or between two walls. The width or depth of your PLATSA frame does not affect placement, as suspension rails are positioned at the same depth as the frames.

Storage Outside Your Wardrobe:

HJÄLPA adjustable clothes rails (30-47 cm) can be used on the outside of a frame, between frames, between a frame and wall, or between walls. The width or depth of your PLATSA frame does not affect placement.

The Correct Number of Fittings:

Mounting between frames requires 2 packages of HJÄLPA fittings.
Mounting between a frame and a wall requires 1 package.
Mounting between two walls requires no fittings.

How to Choose a Driver:

There are three types of LED drivers (10W, 30W). You can connect multiple units to a driver, up to a specified wattage. Up to 10 drivers can be connected in one installation. Flashing lights indicate exceeding maximum wattage. Synchronize drivers with a wireless dimmer or remote control for simultaneous dimming.

On/off function:

Use the ANSLUTA driver with cord for basic on/off functionality.

Dimming function:

Use TRÅDFRI wireless dimmer or STYRBAR remote control for dimming. Connect to the DIRIGERA hub for smart home control and mood creation.
