Introduction
This document serves as a quick installation guide for the D-Link DIR-615S Wireless N300 Router. It outlines the initial setup process, including package contents, default settings, system requirements, and connection procedures for both PC with Ethernet adapter and PC with Wi-Fi adapter.
Before You Begin
Ensure all items from the delivery package are present: Router DIR-615S, Power adapter DC 12V/0.5A, and Ethernet cable. If any items are missing, please contact your reseller. Additional documentation, such as the User Manual and a more detailed Quick Installation Guide, is available on the D-Link website at www.dlink.ru.
Important Note: Using a power supply with a different voltage rating than the one included will cause damage and void the product warranty.
Default Settings
The router comes with default settings for easy setup:
- Domain name of device: dlinkrouter.local.
- IP address of device: 192.168.0.1
- Username (login): admin
- Password: admin
- Name of wireless network (SSID): DIR-615
- Network key (PSK password): Located on the barcode label on the bottom panel of the device.
For initial internet connectivity, it is recommended to set a unique password for the web-based interface and change the WLAN name (SSID). Further configuration may be required based on your Internet Service Provider (ISP) recommendations.
System Requirements and Equipment
To set up the router, you will need:
- An Android or iPhone mobile device, or a computer with a web browser.
- A compatible web browser, such as Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, or Opera.
- A Network Interface Card (NIC), either Ethernet or Wi-Fi adapter, to connect to the router.
- An 802.11b, g, or n Wi-Fi adapter to create a wireless network.
Connecting to PC
PC with Ethernet Adapter
- Connect an Ethernet cable from one of the router's LAN ports to your PC's Ethernet port.
- Connect the power cord to the router and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet or power strip.
- Turn on the router using the ON/OFF button. Ensure your PC is configured to obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP client).
PC with Wi-Fi Adapter
- Connect the power cord to the router and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet or power strip.
- Turn on the router using the ON/OFF button.
- Ensure your PC's Wi-Fi adapter is enabled. For built-in adapters, this may involve a button or switch. For pluggable adapters, install the provided software.
- Verify that your Wi-Fi adapter is set to obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP client).
