6. Information on servicing

1) Checks to the area

Before working on systems with flammable refrigerants, perform safety checks to minimize ignition risk. Follow precautions before working on the refrigerating system.

2) Work procedure

Work under a controlled procedure to minimize the risk of flammable gas or vapor presence.

3) General work area

Instruct all personnel on the work nature. Avoid work in confined spaces. Section off the workspace. Ensure the area is safe by controlling flammable materials.

4) Checking for presence of refrigerant

Check the area with a refrigerant detector to be aware of flammable atmospheres. Ensure leak detection equipment is suitable for flammable refrigerants (non-sparking, sealed, or intrinsically safe).

5) Presence of fire extinguisher

Have appropriate fire extinguishing equipment (dry powder or CO2) available for hot work on refrigeration equipment.

6) No ignition sources

Do not use ignition sources when working on systems with flammable refrigerants. Keep all ignition sources (including smoking) far from the installation, repair, removal, and disposal sites. Survey the area for flammable hazards or ignition risks before work. Display "No Smoking" signs.

7) Ventilated area

Ensure the area is open or adequately ventilated before breaking into the system or performing hot work. Maintain ventilation during work to disperse released refrigerant.

8) Checks to the refrigeration equipment

Electrical components must be fit for purpose and specification. Follow manufacturer's maintenance and service guidelines. Consult manufacturer's technical department if in doubt. Checks include: charge size relative to room size, ventilation operation, secondary circuit checks (if applicable), legible markings, and protection of components from corrosive substances.

Care and Maintenance

BEFORE CLEANING OR MAINTENANCE

ALWAYS TURN OFF YOUR AIR CONDITIONER SYSTEM AND DISCONNECT ITS POWER SUPPLY BEFORE CLEANING OR MAINTENANCE.

Cleaning Your Unit

IMPORTANT

Diagrams show Model A and Model B for cleaning.

Cleaning Your Air Filter

A clogged filter reduces efficiency and increases noise. Clean every two weeks (or as needed) during frequent operation.

  1. Hold the slot under the front panel, uplift it outwards, and remove the front panel.
  2. Pinch the handle under the air filter, arch it, and remove it from the slot (Model A: underside to upside; Model B: slide downwards).
  3. Clean with warm, soapy water (below 40°C/104°F) to prevent distortion.
  4. If equipped with a small air freshening filter, clean with a hand-held vacuum.
  5. Rinse with fresh water, shake off excess water.
  6. Dry in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.

Note: If your filter has a small air freshening filter (optional), it can be installed at any of the four positions. Clean it with a hand-held vacuum.

CAUTION: NEVER operate the air conditioner without the air filter, as dust/dirt particles can contribute to equipment failure.

Winter Storage

If storing during winter, remove carefully from the window per installation instructions. Cover with plastic or return to original carton.

WATER DRAINAGE

Condensed water treatment:

Bottom drainage (for units with bottom drain hole only)

Note: Bottom drainage may slightly affect cooling performance but reduces noise from spraying water. Required for pump heating.

Back drainage

Note: Back drainage may slightly affect cooling performance but reduces noise from spraying water.

Diagrams illustrate Bottom drainage, Back drainage, and Non-drainage configurations.

Non-drainage

If choosing non-drainage for cooling, plug both bottom and back drain holes with rubber plugs. Condensed water is sprayed to the condenser, improving cooling performance.

Note: Non-drainage offers perfect cooling efficiency but may cause significant noise from water spraying. Avoid if sensitive to noise.

Note on the product

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Prior to installation

CAUTION: Before installing, remove all packaging and inserts from inside the carton and side louvers.

Step 1: Select the best location

  1. Install securely and firmly to avoid vibration and noise.
  2. Install where sunlight does not shine directly on the unit. Build an awning if needed.
  3. Ensure no obstacles (fences, walls) within 50cm of the cabinet back to allow condenser heat radiation. Restricted outside air reduces efficiency.
  4. Install slightly tilted downward to the outside (approx. 5-7mm) to allow condensed water to drain away from the room.
  5. Install with the bottom portion 75-150cm above the floor level.
  6. Connect the power cord to an independent circuit. The yellow/green wire must be grounded.

CAUTION: All side louvers of the cabinet must remain exposed to the outside of the structure.

Diagrams illustrate installation clearances and options (Option A, Option B).

Step 2: Remove the front panel and air filter

  1. Remove the air conditioner from packaging.
  2. Hold the slot under the front panel, uplift outwards, and remove the panel (See Fig. 1).
  3. Grip the filter tab, lift, and pull towards yourself to remove (See Fig. 2).

Step 3: Remove the frame

  1. Remove two screws at the bottom of the frame (See Fig. 3).
  2. Disconnect coupler plugs, avoiding the temperature sensor cable. Lift the left bottom side of the frame to unlatch and remove towards you (See Fig. 4).

Note: Steps 2 and 3 may not apply if the front panel and frame are not installed on the back of the unit.

Step 4: Remove the cabinet

Note: Cabinet removal varies slightly by model.

Step 5: Install the cabinet

Note: Unit can be supported by a frame below or a hanger (purchase separately).

  1. If draining water, install the drain plug on the chassis board.
  2. Prepare wall hole for cabinet support. Ensure minimum top clearance and air inlet louver clearance (see previous page diagrams). Seal exterior holes. Cabinet should slope down slightly (5-7mm) towards the rear for drainage.
  3. Install cabinet into wall and secure. Ensure foam seals are intact. Seal gaps around the inside and outside for appearance and protection against weather, insects, and rodents (Fig. 7).

Diagrams show cabinet installation and wall mounting options.

Step 6: Install the unit into the cabinet

  1. Slide unit into cabinet until it is firmly against the rear. Ensure foam seals remain in position (Fig. 8).
  2. Connect power cord, positioning excess length beneath the unit.
  3. Engage chassis fixing brackets into the bottom cabinet rail and secure with provided screws.

Diagrams illustrate preferred and alternative installation methods for timber framed walls, partitions, or windows.

Step 7: Install the frame

  1. Hook the frame's upper edge. Connect coupler plugs, avoiding the temperature sensor cable (Fig. 9).
  2. Press the frame's sides and lower edge, secure with two screws at the bottom (Fig. 10).

Step 8: Install the air filter and front panel

  1. Insert air filter into frame slot from top to bottom (Fig. 2).
  2. Hang front panel on frame buckle, press into slot until it clicks (Fig. 11).
  3. Turn unit on. Check operation and vibration.
  4. Fit drain pan to cabinet and run drain hose if needed.

Diagrams show power cord routing for left-side exit units (Fig. a-f).
