Assembly Instructions
Never install on a wet, freshly painted, or plastered surface. Ensure the house electricity supply is switched off at the fuse box. If removing an existing fitting, note down all wiring connections. Check fixings will not touch existing wiring before drilling.
Ensure wall wires are threaded through the black insulating tube fixed to the appliance.
Step 1: Prepare Mounting Bracket
Remove the mounting bracket from the fitting by unscrewing the retaining screws and washers. Use the bracket as a template to mark and drill fixing holes in the wall. Ensure screws are fixed into a solid mounting, not just plasterboard. Take care not to damage wiring. Attach the mounting bracket to the wall surface using suitable fixings. Do not attach the fitting to the bracket yet. Ensure no wires are trapped.
Step 2: Electrical Connections
Lever open the terminal block box cover with a screwdriver. Pierce a hole in the black rubber end cap of the terminal block and feed the supply cable through. Make electrical connections as follows:
- Connect supply live (L) to fitting live (marked "L") on the terminal block.
- Connect supply neutral (N) to fitting neutral (marked "N") on the terminal block.
- Connect the supply earth [earth symbol] to the fitting earth (marked " ").
NOTE: Ensure all electrical connections are tight and no loose strands of wire are left out of the connector block. Excess cable must be carefully located inside the ceiling cup or within the ceiling void.
Step 3: Final Assembly
Carefully locate excess cable inside the wall plate or wall cavity. Offer the fitting over the mounting bracket and secure it in place using the screws and washers removed in Step 1.
Fit the bulb (not supplied), ensuring it is the correct type and wattage as indicated. Do not exceed the maximum wattage. Place the silicone washer over the lamp holder.
Fit the shade: Align the glass shade with the lamp holder section and carefully screw it into place. If cross-threading occurs, undo and restart. Avoid overtightening, which could damage the fitting.
Once installation is complete, restore the house electricity at the fuse box.
