Q-Logic 2 Controller Overview

The Q-Logic 2 Controller is a programmable electronic system for operating a power chair. It can be adjusted using a personal computer or a hand-held programmer by a qualified technician.

WARNING! Improper programming can create a dangerous situation. Only authorized personnel should program the controller.

When multiple input devices are used, the device that powered up the chair is in control.

Precautionary Guidelines

  • Turn off power to the controller before seating yourself in the power chair.
  • Follow all procedures and heed warnings in your power chair owner's manual.

Operating the Q-Logic 2 Controller

The Q-Logic 2 hand control operates the power chair and its components.

On/Off Button and Mode Select Lever

This lever turns the system on/off, recycles power, and selects drive profiles.

WARNING! In an emergency stop, release the joystick, then press the on/off button. Pressing the on/off button may cause an abrupt stop.

WARNING! Always turn the power off when stationary to prevent unexpected movement.

Joystick

The joystick controls driving speed and direction and navigates LCD menus. When at rest, it is in the neutral position, keeping the chair stationary. Moving the joystick in any direction initiates drive. The farther the joystick is moved from neutral, the faster the chair moves. Release the joystick or return it to neutral to stop. Electromagnetic brakes engage upon a controlled stop.

Lock/Unlock Procedure

The controller has a programmable lock/unlock option. It is not programmed at the factory; contact your Quantum Rehab Provider to enable this feature.

  • To lock: Power on, then push and hold the On/Off and Mode Select Lever in the 'on' position until the controller turns off.
  • To unlock: Power on. "System Lock" will appear. Move the joystick fully forward (beep), then fully reverse (beep). Release the joystick.

Speed Adjustment Knob

Used to control the power chair's speed. Push up to increase speed, down to decrease.

Keypad

Located in front of the joystick, containing keys for power chair control.

Horn Button

Activates a warning horn.

Key 1 and Key 2 Select Buttons

Key 1 selects drive profile 1. Key 2 selects seat functions. If a lighting system is present, these buttons are replaced by the Light Button and Left/Right Turn Indicator Buttons.

Light Button

Controls front headlights and rear running lights. Press once to turn on, again to turn off.

Left/Right Turn Indicator Buttons

Toggle left or right turn indicators. Pressing both simultaneously activates hazard lights. Pressing both again turns them off. Hazard lights will continue to flash if the controller is turned off while they are active.

LCD Screen and Drive Screen

The Q-Logic 2 LCD screen provides feedback. A circle at the bottom indicates drive status: green for full operation, amber for limited operation, and red for prohibited operation.

The Drive Screen displays time (12/24 hr), current profile, drive operation, speed setting, trip odometer, and overall odometer reading.

Drive/Function Inhibit status is shown by a light: green (normal), red (full drive lockout due to seat/back angle), yellow (speed reduction with seat lift). Reverse operation restores green status.

Drive Profile Selection

Up to five drive profiles can be programmed for custom tailoring. Profiles 1-5 are selected by cycling the On/Off and Mode Select Lever forward. Profile 1 can also be selected with the Key 1 button. Drive profiles are set by your Quantum Rehab Provider.

  • To select a profile using the Lever: Power on, then push the lever up again to cycle through profiles. You can only scroll forward.

WARNING! Drive/Function Inhibit status is read-only in the actuator adjustment screen and disabled in drive mode to prevent unintended loss of function. Be cautious on obstacles, ramps, and inclines; use an attendant if possible.

WARNING! Use iLevel® only on flat, level, indoor surfaces. Never raise the seat on an incline, as this can cause tipping.

WARNING! Limited outdoor use is permitted on flat, level, hardscape surfaces. If unsure, do not use outdoors.

WARNING! Do not raise the seat into iLevel® on bumpy or uneven surfaces; this can cause tipping.

WARNING! Always fasten the positioning belt.

WARNING! Do not operate iLevel® or change seat height under fixed objects like tables or desks. Keep the area clear.

PROHIBITED! Never use iLevel® outdoors on uneven terrain (gravel, hills) or in fields.

The iLevel® feature allows driving at a predetermined safe speed when elevated. Always check system operation before use.

If the LCD displays "iLevel® is not engaged," speed reduces to 25% when elevated. If this occurs on level ground, discontinue use and consult your Quantum Rehab Provider.
