Power Safety
- Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or adapters beyond their voltage and capacity to prevent fire or electric shock. Refer to product specifications for voltage and amperage.
- Place power-supply cords where they are not likely to be walked on or pinched. Pay attention to cords at the plug end, wall outlets, and where they exit the appliance.
- Never insert metallic objects into open parts of the apparatus, as this may cause electric shock.
- To avoid electric shock, never touch the inside of the apparatus. Only qualified technicians should open it.
- Ensure the power cord is firmly seated. When unplugging, pull the plug, not the cord. Do not touch the power cord with wet hands.
- If the apparatus operates abnormally (unusual sounds or smells), unplug it immediately and contact an authorized Samsung service center.
- To protect the apparatus from lightning storms or for long periods of disuse, unplug it from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna or cable system.
- Accumulated dust can cause electric shock, leakage, or fire due to sparks and heat from the power cord deteriorating insulation.
- Use only a properly grounded plug and wall outlet. Improper grounding may cause electric shock or equipment damage (Class I Equipment only).
- To turn off the apparatus completely, disconnect it from the wall outlet. Ensure the wall outlet and power plug are readily accessible for quick disconnection.
Installation Safety
- Do not place the apparatus near or over radiators, heat registers, or in direct sunlight.
- Do not place water-containing objects (vases, etc.) on the apparatus, as this can result in fire or electric shock.
- Do not expose the apparatus to rain or moisture.
- Contact an authorized Samsung service center for information if installing in locations with heavy dust, extreme temperatures, high humidity, chemical substances, or where it operates 24/7 (e.g., airport, train station), as this may lead to serious damage.
- Do not expose the apparatus to dripping or splashing.
Mounting the TV on a Wall
If mounting the TV on a wall, follow the manufacturer's instructions precisely. Incorrect mounting can cause the TV to slide or fall, leading to serious injury or damage.
- To order a Samsung wall mount kit, contact Samsung service at 1-800-SAMSUNG (1-800-726-7864).
- Samsung Electronics is not responsible for product damage or injury if you install the wall mount yourself.
- Samsung is not liable for damage or injury when using non-VESA or non-specified wall mounts, or when installation instructions are not followed.
- Mount on a solid wall perpendicular to the floor. For surfaces other than plasterboard, consult your dealer. Mounting on a ceiling or slanted wall may result in severe personal injury.
- When installing a wall mount kit, it is recommended to fasten all four VESA screws.
- If using a kit with only two top screws, ensure it's a Samsung-approved kit for this type of installation.
- Do not mount the TV at more than a 15-degree tilt.
- Standard wall mount kit dimensions are in the Unpacking and Installation Guide.
- Do not install the wall mount kit while the TV is turned on to avoid electric shock.
- Do not use screws longer than standard dimensions or non-VESA compliant screws, as they can damage the TV's interior.
- For non-VESA compliant mounts, screw length may vary.
- Do not fasten screws too firmly, as this may damage the product or cause it to fall, leading to injury. Samsung is not liable for such accidents.
- Always have two people mount the TV on a wall. For 82-inch or larger models, four people are recommended.
Providing Proper Ventilation for Your TV
When installing the TV and One Connect Box (if applicable), maintain at least 4 inches (10 cm) distance from walls, cabinet sides, and other objects to ensure proper ventilation. Failure to do so may result in fire or product problems due to increased internal temperature.
When installing with a stand or wall mount, use only parts provided by Samsung Electronics. Using parts from other manufacturers may cause difficulties or injury.
General Safety Precautions
Caution: Pulling, pushing, or climbing on the TV may cause it to fall, leading to serious injury or death. Do not hang on or destabilize the TV.
Follow all safety precautions in the Safety Flyer included with your TV. For added stability, consider purchasing and installing an anti-tip device (refer to "Preventing the TV from falling").
WARNING: Never place a television set in an unstable location. It may fall, causing serious personal injury or death.
To avoid injuries:
- Always use cabinets, stands, or mounting methods recommended by Samsung.
- Always use furniture that can safely support the television set.
- Ensure the television set does not overhang the edge of the supporting furniture.
- Educate about the dangers of climbing furniture to reach the TV or its controls.
- Route cords and cables so they cannot be tripped over, pulled, or grabbed.
- Never place the TV on tall furniture (e.g., cupboards, bookcases) without anchoring both the furniture and the TV to a suitable support.
- Never place the TV on cloth or other materials between the TV and supporting furniture.
- Never place items that might tempt climbing (toys, remote controls) on top of the TV or furniture it rests on.
If relocating an existing TV, apply the same considerations.
- When relocating or lifting the TV for replacement or cleaning, do not pull out the stand.
Preventing the TV from Falling (Anti-tip Device)
[Wall-anchor not supplied]
- Firmly fasten brackets to the wall using appropriate screws. Ensure screws are securely attached. Additional materials like wall anchors may be needed depending on the wall type.
- Firmly fasten brackets to the TV using appropriately sized screws (refer to the Unpacking and Installation Guide for specifications).
- Connect the TV brackets and wall brackets with a durable, heavy-duty string and tie it tightly.
- Install the TV near the wall to prevent it from falling backward.
- Ensure wall brackets are at the same height as or lower than the TV brackets when connecting the string.
Precautions When Installing the TV with a Stand (The Frame only)
When using a stand, avoid placing it on the back part of the table surface. Failure to do so may prevent the motion sensor at the bottom of the TV from working properly.
