Manufacturer: Grothe GmbH, Lõhestraße 22, D-53773 Hennef, Germany (part of URMET GROUP)
1.0 Safety Instructions
[Warning] Do not expose the MISTRAL SE06 to dripping or splashing liquid. Do not place vessels filled with liquid on it. Protect it from direct sunlight, naked flames, and excessive heat. Do not cover it with objects like blankets or curtains.
2.0 Intended Use
The MISTRAL SE06 is intended solely as a radio-controlled bell and signalling system for private use. Its function can be impaired by influences such as flat batteries or radio interference. It must not be used in safety-related areas. If its failure could cause a hazard to people or consequential damage, appropriate additional safety measures must be implemented.
3.0 Short Description
The MISTRAL SE06 transmitter is compact, suitable for mounting in flush boxes or other electrical equipment. After connecting to a potential-free contact (e.g., push-button, bell button, motion detector), it can wirelessly control Grothe wireless doorbells. It can be powered by an external source or a CR 2450 battery (article number 43397).
4.0 Product Description & Components
The MISTRAL SE06 device features:
- Terminals: For connecting external contacts.
- Push button: An integrated button on the device for testing or pairing.
- LED: An indicator light for status feedback.
- Battery compartment: For a CR 2450 battery.
5.0 Power Supply
The MISTRAL SE06 can be powered by an external DC power supply or a CR 2450 battery.
5.1 External Power Connection
Connection Diagram: The diagram shows a terminal block with labels C, O, T, V. It illustrates stripping individual wires by 7 mm and connecting them to terminals (V) = + and (O) = -. The device requires a power supply of 8-12 V DC / 30 mA.
[Warning] Use a power supply with a maximum power of 10 W.
5.2 Battery Power Connection
Battery Installation:
- Open the housing by releasing the two snap-in hooks (A) on the sides.
- Insert the CR 2450 battery into the holder, ensuring correct polarity: positive pole (+) facing upwards, negative pole (-) towards the PCB.
- Close the cover.
Note: The battery has an approximate lifespan of 5 years under normal use. For very frequent transmissions, an external DC supply (e.g., NA 9V-GPE, article no. 43399) is recommended.
6.0 Connection with Potential-Free Push-Button
Wiring: Strip individual wires by 7 mm and connect them to terminals (C) and (O). The required push-button is a normally open (NO) contact.
Diagram Description: Shows a terminal block with C and O, and a symbol for a normally open push-button.
7.0 Connection with Button with Voltage
Wiring: Strip individual wires by 7 mm and connect them to terminals (C) = - and (T) = +. This connection is for a 12 V AC/DC power source.
Triggering: For direct current, C is connected to '-' and T to '+'.
Note: A parallel connection with an existing bell system is possible.
Diagram Description: Shows a terminal block with C and T, a power source symbol (12V AC/DC), and labels for Gong/Bell/Carillon/Deurtelefon.
8.0 Coupling with Wireless Doorbells (Receivers)
Follow these steps to pair the MISTRAL SE06 transmitter with a wireless doorbell:
- Switch the wireless doorbell to pairing mode as described in its user manual. The doorbell's LED will light up red as confirmation.
- Within 30 seconds, press the push-button on the MISTRAL SE06 (labeled A) or the button connected to terminals (B).
- The LED (labeled C) on the MISTRAL SE06 will flash red during transmission.
- Once paired, the wireless doorbell will signal, and the MISTRAL SE06 LED will turn off.
Diagram Description: Shows the MISTRAL SE06 device with labels A (on-device button), B (terminals for external button), and C (LED indicator).
9.0 Range Information
The range of the MISTRAL SE06 is approximately 150 meters in open field conditions when installed according to instructions. Walls, doors, and metal components can significantly reduce this range.
Note: Flush mounting can considerably reduce the range, depending on wall construction (e.g., reinforced concrete).
Range Reduction Factors:
- Free Field: 100%
- Wood/Glass: approx. 80%
- Plasterboard/Metal Stud Wall: approx. 60-70%
- Stone: approx. 50-70%
- Concrete Wall: approx. 30-50%
- Concrete Ceiling: approx. 20%
- Metal Wall: approx. 10%
Example: A signal passing through a 50% material wall and then an 80% material wall results in a total range of 40% (50% x 80%).
Diagram Description: Illustrates range reduction percentages for various building materials and shows a calculation for combined range reduction through multiple walls.
9.2 Guarantee and Liability
Grothe GmbH products undergo 100% quality control. The guarantee covers repair or replacement for functional or material defects. It does not cover natural wear, transport damage, or damage from improper installation or disregard of instructions. The guarantee expires if the device is opened after fault diagnosis. The guarantee period is 24 months from the date of purchase, verified by proof of purchase (invoice, delivery note, etc.). In case of a defect, send the device with a description of the defect to the seller's address.
9.3 Declaration of Conformity
This product complies with the essential requirements and other relevant provisions of Directive 2014/53/EU (RED). It is tested according to standards such as EN 300220-2, EN 301489-1, EN 62368-1, EN 55022, EN 50581. It also complies with EMC Directive 2014/30/EU, RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU, and WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU. The EC Declaration of Conformity can be found at www.funkgong.de. The transmission frequency is 868.35 MHz.
