Functional Description

Locking Mechanism Diagrams:

Back Unit: Overall dimensions 140 mm height, 65 mm width, 25 mm depth. Features a locking bolt (C) with dimensions approximately 69.5 mm length and 42.6 mm width. Includes mounting points and a beeper (D).

Arretiereinheit (Locking Mechanism): Shows the internal mechanism with dimensions such as 38 mm height, 19 mm width, and a 30 mm depth. Includes a hole for the locking bolt and mounting points.

Mode: Fixed Assigned Authorization (Private Mode)

This mode is suitable for user groups with stable access requirements, such as office cabinets. A pre-set user code or transponder medium is used for operation.

  • User Code: To lock, enter a stored user code and confirm with the hook key [✔️]. The lock unlocks with a stored user code. The locking bolt locks automatically after 5 seconds. Unstored codes are rejected.
  • Transponder: To unlock, hold a stored transponder medium centrally in front of the lock. The locking bolt locks automatically after 5 seconds. Non-stored transponders are rejected.

Mode: Multi User Authorization (Multi User Mode)

Ideal for temporary or single-use compartments, like in sports facilities. Codes or transponders are valid for a single locking process and are deleted upon compartment reopening, allowing a new code or transponder to be used. The locking bolt remains open until relocked.

  • User Code: Before locking, close the door (press lightly). Enter a user code (4-8 digits) and confirm with the hook key [✔️]. The green LED [?] flashes. The lock opens with the same code.
  • Transponder: Before locking, close the door (press lightly). Hold the transponder medium centrally in front of the lock. The green LED [?] flashes. The lock can only be opened with the same transponder medium.

Master Code

The Master Code allows independent unlocking (emergency opening). In Multi User Mode, entering the Master Code deletes the user code used for locking. In Private Mode, it resets the user code to the default (1234).

Note: It is recommended to program a private Master Code before operation.

Master Card

The Master Card allows independent unlocking (emergency opening). In Multi User Mode, it deletes the transponder medium used for locking.

Automatic locking (Private Mode)

The lock automatically locks five seconds after unlocking, without requiring the door to be closed. The latch function allows the door to be closed by pressing slightly even when the lock is engaged.

LED locking indication

When the lock is locked, the green LED [?] flashes briefly at regular intervals.

Block mode

After four consecutive failed opening attempts, the lock is blocked for 60 seconds. During this period, no action is possible, except opening with an RFID transponder. For code access, the block mode remains active for the full 60 seconds.

Signal tones

Signal tones sound during opening, closing, and configuration steps. Volume can be adjusted using LOUD, SILENT, or OFF function cards.

Battery Warning

A short signal tone sounds if battery voltage is low. If voltage drops to a critical range, three beeps [???] sound, and the lock becomes inoperable.

Assembly Instructions

  1. Drill all holes required for installation according to the dimensioned product drawing.
  2. Carefully place the front unit on the front of the cabinet and pass the connecting cable through the appropriate hole (optimal diameter 18mm).
  3. If batteries are already installed, open the battery compartment and remove the 4 AA batteries from the back unit.
  4. Connect the back unit and the connecting cable: Carefully slide the cable into the socket on the back of the back unit, ensuring the two small guide rails are visible.
  5. Ensure the ribbon cable is not pinched during installation to prevent permanent damage and voiding the warranty.
  6. Important note on screws: The included M4x29.5 screws are for doors/drawers with a material thickness of 17 mm to 30 mm. For thinner fronts (e.g., steel doors), shorter M4 screws are required (formula: material thickness + 13mm). Using the existing screws on thinner material can permanently damage the touchpad. For fronts thinner than 2.8mm, consider using a wooden/HPL adapter plate or washers (min. 6.8mm inside diameter) to compensate for distance. Insert the 2 threaded screws (M4x29.5) through the corresponding holes and screw the back unit to the touchpad. After plugging in the touchpad, slide washers onto the lugs from the inside before screwing on the back unit. Failure to follow this instruction will void the manufacturer's warranty.
  7. Place the spring-loaded strike plate on the inside of the cabinet and fix it with the 3 wood screws (3.4x20).
  8. Insert the four AA batteries and close the battery case. Fix the housing cover with the appropriate screw (3x8).
  9. Ensure the battery cover is closed before closing the cabinet door. Never close the cabinet door with the battery cover open, as this may cause batteries to come loose. Test if the door closes smoothly and the lock engages without pressure or friction. Adjust the lock and striking plate if necessary. Start system setup (programming code and RFID).

Emergency Power Supply

If batteries have insufficient voltage, an external power supply can be connected via the micro USB port. Connect the touchpad to a power supply, notebook, or power bank using a micro USB cable. The lock can then be operated again.

Note: Replace batteries immediately when low.

Battery Replacement

If the lock indicates a low battery level, change the batteries immediately.

Note: The lock is approved for VARTA brand batteries. Using other batteries may reduce the number of possible locking cycles.

  1. Loosen the screw of the battery compartment cover and remove the cover.
  2. Remove empty batteries and insert new batteries according to the symbols (+ / -).
  3. Close the battery compartment with the cover and fix it with the screw.

Disposal and Battery Note

EU Directive 2012/19/EU regulates the proper take-back, treatment, and recycling of used electronic equipment.

Consumers are legally required to dispose of batteries, accumulators, or electrical/electronic equipment separately from household waste, as they contain harmful substances and valuable resources. Disposal can be done at approved collection or take-back points (e.g., local recycling centers) free of charge. Waste equipment, batteries, or rechargeable batteries are accepted there and recycled in an environmentally friendly manner.

Waste equipment, used batteries, or rechargeable batteries can also be returned to BURG F. W. Lüling KG. The return must be sufficiently stamped to the address below.

The following symbol on waste electrical equipment, batteries, or accumulators indicates they must not be disposed of with household waste:

[WEEE symbol - crossed-out wheelie bin]

Caution when using batteries!

Batteries may explode or release flammable gases if mishandled, destroyed, or if the wrong type is used. Do not recharge, disassemble, expose to extreme temperatures, or throw batteries into a fire.

On batteries containing harmful substances, look for abbreviations like cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg), and lead (Pb).
