Block Diagram
The block diagram illustrates the internal architecture of the XBG-160 series LED driver. Input power (I/P) goes through an EMI filter and rectifiers, then to a PFC circuit with PFC control. This is followed by power switching controlled by PWM control and Over Load Protection (OLP). The output stage includes rectifiers and filters, with Over Current Protection (OCP), Over Voltage Protection (OVP), and detection circuits. The dimming function (DIM+ and DIM-) is available for the AB type.

I-V Operating Area
The I-V operating area graph displays the relationship between output voltage and output current for the XBG-160. It shows the constant power region, highlighting the operational limits. Dimming Operation (for AB-Type)
The XBG-160 series (AB-Type) supports 3-in-1 dimming, allowing adjustment of the constant current level via three methods applied between the DIM+ and DIM- terminals:
- 0-10VDC: Applying a variable DC voltage from 0 to 10V. The graph shows output current increasing linearly with input voltage from 0V to 10V.
- 10V PWM Signal: Applying a PWM signal with a frequency range of 100Hz to 3KHz. The graph shows output current increasing linearly with the duty cycle of the PWM signal from 0% to 100%.
- Resistance: Connecting a variable resistor. The graph shows output current increasing with resistance values, from a short circuit (low current) to 100KΩ (full current).
Important Notes for Dimming:
- Direct connection to LEDs is suggested; it is not suitable for use with additional drivers.
- Dimming source current from the power supply is approximately 100μA (typ.).
- DO NOT connect "DIM-" to "Vo-".
- The minimum dimming level is approximately 8%. Output current is not defined for Iout < 8%.
- Output current can drop to 0% with dimming input of approximately 0kΩ, 0Vdc, or a 10V PWM signal with 0% duty cycle.
Performance Characteristics
Output Load vs. Temperature
Two graphs illustrate the derating of output load based on ambient temperature (Ta) and case temperature (Tc). The first graph shows load percentage versus ambient temperature for different input voltage ranges (100-180VAC, 180-305VAC, and 230VAC input only). The second graph shows load percentage versus case temperature for 230VAC input.

This graph shows the output load percentage as a function of input voltage, illustrating the stable operation across the wide input voltage range.
Power Factor (PF) Characteristic
The graph displays the Power Factor (PF) versus load percentage at a case temperature of 65°C for different input voltages (115V, 230V, 277V). It shows PF values generally above 0.9.
Total Harmonic Distortion (THD)
This graph illustrates the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) versus load percentage for the 2850mA model at a case temperature of 65°C, for input voltages of 115VAC, 230VAC, and 277VAC. THD is shown to be below 10% for most operating conditions.
Efficiency vs. Load
The graph shows the efficiency percentage versus load percentage for the XBG-160 series (2850mA model) at a case temperature of 65°C, across input voltages of 115V, 230V, and 277V. The XBG-160 series achieves superior working efficiency, up to 93%.
Life Time
The "Life Time" graph shows the estimated lifetime in thousands of hours (Kh) as a function of case temperature (Tcase) in degrees Celsius. It indicates that the lifetime decreases as the case temperature increases, with a typical minimum lifetime of 50,000 hours at lower case temperatures.

Installations
The LED driver can be installed using various methods:

Cautionary Notes for Installation
- Inspect the driver for damage (cracks) upon receipt.
