Lubrication Tip: Add anti-seize lubricant to the tip of the bolts before securing the nuts. If anti-seize lubricant is not available, apply any standard lubricant to reduce friction and prevent thread galling.

Identify the HSD Frame

Before installation, identify the HSD frame by the kickstand mount located in front of the rear wheel. Tern offers different frame variants, including HSD Gen 1 and HSD Gen 1A. Visual inspection of the mount area will help determine the specific frame type.

Remove the existing kickstand from your bike. The specific tool required may differ depending on your bike model.

Install the bolt sets in the order and arrangement shown below, specific to your HSD frame variant.

Once the desired height is achieved, tighten the bolts on the DuoStand Ends to a torque of 8 - 9 Nm.

Optional: Install Lockstand™ Extensions

For maximum stability when parked, install the Lockstand Extensions. These are available for purchase from your local Tern dealer.
