Environmental Impact & Energy Saving Tips
Suggestions for correct use to reduce environmental impact: Switch ON the hood at minimum speed when cooking starts and keep it running for a few minutes after cooking finishes. Increase speed only for large amounts of smoke and vapor, using boost speeds only in extreme situations. Replace charcoal filters when necessary for odor reduction efficiency. Clean grease filters when necessary for grease filter efficiency. Use the maximum ducting system diameter indicated in this manual for optimal efficiency and minimal noise.
Additional Installation Specifications: Use only the supplied fixing screws or purchase correct types and lengths as identified in the Installation Guide. Consult an authorized service center if in doubt.
WARNING! Failure to install screws or fixing devices correctly may result in electrical hazards.
USE
The hood is designed for either exhausting or filter version.
DUCTING VERSION
Fumes are conveyed outside via a special pipe connected to the connection ring on top of the hood.
Attention! The exhaust pipe is not supplied and must be purchased separately. Its diameter must match the connection ring diameter.
Horizontal runs of the exhaust pipe must be slightly slanted (approx. 10°) upwards to facilitate air expulsion.
Attention! If the hood is equipped with a charcoal filter, it must be removed.
Connect the hood and wall discharge holes with a diameter equivalent to the air outlet. Using smaller diameter tubes or holes will reduce suction performance and increase noise. Hisense declines responsibility for this.
- Use a duct of the minimum indispensable length.
- Use a duct with as few elbows as possible (max. 90° elbow angle).
- Avoid drastic changes in duct cross-section.
- Use a duct with the smoothest possible interior surface.
- The duct material must be certified.
FILTER VERSION
An active charcoal filter is needed and can be obtained from your usual retailer. The filter removes grease and smells from the extracted air before returning it to the room through the upper outlet grid.
INSTALLATION
The minimum distance between the cooking surface and the lowest part of the hood must be not less than 50cm from electric cookers and 65cm from gas or mixed cookers. Adhere to greater distances if specified by the cooking appliance instructions.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
The mains power supply must match the rating on the hood's internal plate. If supplied with a plug, connect to a compliant, accessible socket. If direct mains connection or inaccessible socket, a double pole switch must be installed for complete mains disconnection (over-current category III).
Warning! Before reconnecting to mains and checking function, always ensure the mains cable is correctly assembled.
The hood is provided with a special power cable; if damaged, request a new one from Technical Service.
MOUNTING
This is a heavy product; installation requires at least two persons.
- Check that the purchased product is the correct size for the installation area.
- Remove charcoal filter(s) (*) if supplied; they are only needed for the filtering version.
- Check inside the hood for any loose materials (e.g., screw packets (*), warranty cards (*)) and remove them.
- If possible, disconnect and move the range from its cabinet to access the rear wall/ceiling. Otherwise, cover the hob, worktop, and adjacent furniture with protective covering. Select a flat surface for assembly, cover it, and place all hood parts and hardware on it.
- Check for an accessible electrical socket near the installation area.
- Ensure a fumes discharge device can be connected to the outside (for suction version).
- Carry out necessary masonry work (e.g., installing socket, drilling hole for discharge tube).
Expansion wall plugs are provided for most walls/ceilings. However, a qualified technician must verify plug/screw suitability for your wall/ceiling type. The wall/ceiling must be strong enough to support the hood's weight. Do not tile, grout, or silicone the appliance to the wall; surface mounting only.
OPERATION
Use high suction speed for concentrated cooking vapors. It is recommended to switch on the hood 5 minutes before cooking and leave it running for approximately 15 minutes after cooking finishes.
ROCKER SWITCH
The hood is controlled by three switches located on the sides, visible when the telescopic front is extended. The hood has a limit switch; extending the front starts the hood at the previously set speed.
BUTTON CONTROL
- ON/OFF Button: Press to start the hood at speed level 1.
- Speed 2 Button: Press to start the motor at speed 2.
- Speed 3 Button: Press to start the motor at speed 3.
- Light Button: Press to turn the light ON. Press again to turn it OFF. ?
MAINTENANCE
ATTENTION! Before any maintenance, disconnect the hood from the electrical supply by switching off at the connector and removing the fuse, or by unplugging if connected via a plug.
CLEANING
Clean the hood regularly (internally and externally, at least as often as the grease filters) with a soft cloth dampened with neutral liquid detergent. Do not use abrasive products. DO NOT USE ALCOHOL!
WARNING: Failure to follow cleaning and filter replacement recommendations may cause fire risks. Manufacturer is not responsible for motor or fire damage due to negligent maintenance or non-compliance with safety instructions.
GREASE FILTER
Traps cooking grease particles. Clean the grease filter monthly with a non-aggressive detergent, by hand or in a dishwasher (short cycle, low temperature). Dishwasher washing may cause slight discoloration but does not affect filtering capacity. To remove, press and pull down the small spring handle.
CHARCOAL FILTER (FILTER VERSION ONLY)
Absorbs unpleasant cooking odors. Saturation depends on cooking type and grease filter cleaning frequency. Replace the cartridge at least every four months. The charcoal filter MUST NOT be washed or regenerated.
REPLACING LAMPS
The hood uses LED lighting, offering optimal illumination, up to 10 times longer life than traditional lamps, and saving 90% electrical energy.
Attention! For LED replacement, contact technical service.
ENERGY SAVING TIPS
- When starting cooking, switch on the hood at minimum speed to control moisture and remove odors.
- Increase suction speed only when there is significant smoke and vapor.
- Keep filters clean for optimal grease and odor efficiency.
