WARNING:
- This sauna is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the sauna by a person responsible for their safety.
- Consult your doctor about any health-related limitations related to sauna use. Ignoring advice from your medical provider could cause serious injury or death.
- Do not let people with pre-existing health conditions bathe in the sauna on their own. Using the sauna could cause these users to lose consciousness.
- Parents should consult your pediatrician before allowing children to use the sauna. Ignoring advice from your medical provider could cause serious injury or death.
- Do not smoke, use alcohol, or exercise in the sauna. These tasks could cause users to lose consciousness.
- Do not exceed 30 minutes in the sauna at one time, as excessive exposure may be harmful to health. The sauna should not be used as an endurance test.
- Do not place any combustible material over the sauna heater (towels, bathing suits, wooden bucket or ladle)! This will cause the sauna to catch fire.
- Hyperthermia occurs when the internal temperature of the body reaches a level several degrees above the normal body temperature of 98.6 °F. The symptoms of hyperthermia include an increase in the internal temperature of the body, dizziness, lethargy, drowsiness, and fainting.
- Only use stones approved for sauna heater use. Inadequate stones may crack or explode leading to serious injury.
- Do not sleep in a sauna that the heater is operating. Sleeping in a heated sauna may lead to injury or death.
CAUTION:
- Keep all occupants away from the heater and when it is hot. The stones and outer surface of the heater may burn your skin.
- Do not throw excessive amounts of water on the stones. The evaporating water is boiling hot and could cause burns.
- Do not throw water directly onto the elements. This could cause burns and damage to the heater.
- Be very careful when moving in the sauna, as the benches and floors may be slippery. This could cause the user to slip and fall.
- Do not alter the sauna in any way, unless explicitly instructed in this manual. Altering the sauna could lead to structural damage, increasing the risk to bodily harm.
- When moving and lifting heavy pieces, use two or more people. Moving pieces without adequate manpower will lead to injury.
General Information & Requirements
Thank you for your purchase of your Nordik Sauna. For assembly questions, please call 888-355-3050 or email sales@almostheaven.com. Business hours are 9-5 EST, M-F. Additional resources are available at youtube.com/user/almostheavensauna.
The Nordik sauna comes in three similarly constructed models with slightly different configurations. This manual follows the assembly of the Large model, with notes on differences for other models.
Your Nordik Sauna is designed to be placed on an existing floor. Assembly is simplified as the sauna sits on pre-fabricated rails and risers, not a floor platform. It can be assembled on any firm, flat surface, including concrete, ceramic, vinyl, laminate, or tile. Installation on a carpeted surface is not recommended.
Electrical Requirements
The cost of an electrician can vary. It is recommended to get quotes from two to three licensed electricians before installation. Use copper wire with 90°C insulation; do not use aluminum wire. Consult with an electrician to determine specific requirements for your situation. All wiring must conform to national, state, and local codes and regulations. For heater installation and operation, consult the provided heater manual.

Assembly Instructions
Wall Assembly:
Ensure the sauna foundation is sturdy and level. If not, the sauna could tilt, shift, or fall, leading to injury.
NOTICE:
- All screws must be pre-drilled with a 1/8" bit before installing to prevent breakage.
- The room must be at least 90-5/8" high for installation.
- Maintain a 2" gap from surrounding walls and the sauna walls.
- Instructions follow the right floor plan; for a left floor plan, install noted elements on the opposite side.
- For Medium and Large units, the door can be hinged on either side. Position glass elements for preferred swing.
Step 1: Place the "wall element, bottom rear - ventilation element" at the back of the intended sauna location. On the right side, place the "element, bottom right". Predrill and screw through the side of the right panel into the edge of the rear ventilation element using three 5 X 80 screws. Ensure support strips on the corners of the wall elements extend upwards for proper top panel fit.
Step 2: Repeat for the left side with the "element, bottom left", predrilling and fastening with three 5 X 80 screws.
Step 3: Place the "wall element, top rear" on top of the rear bottom element, aligning panels at the corners. Predrill and fasten through this panel into the protruding board from the bottom panels using one 5 X 80 screw on each side.
Step 4: Install the two top left and top right wall elements. Predrill and fasten using three 5 X 80 screws on each side.
Step 5: Install the two "elements with groove for glass" on the inside of the front edge of the side walls. Predrill and fasten using four 5 X 80 screws from the outside. Ensure the holes for the above door element are located at the top.
Glass Installation:
NOTICE: The glass is very fragile. When carrying, do not hold both ends and let it sag in the middle. Hold the glass upright, not flat. Do not carry it flat by just the middle.
Step 6: Place the "above door element" between the groove glass elements and slide the dowel pins into the top holes. At the top where the above door element meets the glass groove elements, predrill through the above door element into the glass groove element. Install two 4 X 70 screws through the predrilled holes to connect the pieces.
Step 7: Determine door swing direction. Place the "glass element with holes for door hinges" on the left of the sauna for a left hinge, or on the right for a right hinge.
Step 8: Place the aluminum U-profile on the bottom of the glass, then slide both pieces of side glass into the above door element.
Step 9: Install the "mounting rail above door" into the "element above door" between the two pieces of glass and fasten using three 3.2 X 40 screws.
Front Trim Installation:
Step 10: Place the two "cover, front, black" in front of the "element with groove for glass". Predrill and fasten from inside the sauna using five 4 X 70 screws on each side.
Step 11: Place the "cover, top front, black" in front of the "element above door". Predrill and fasten from inside the sauna using five 4 X 70 screws.
Roof & Exterior Trim Installation:
Step 12: Install the roof support slat with LED on the rear wall, and the two side wall roof supports and the front wall roof support. Predrill and fasten using four 4 X 70 screws in each. Install the support 2-1/4" below the top of the walls.
Step 13: Place the roof elements on top of the roof support slats, routing the LED cord out of the sauna carefully. Predrill and fasten the roof elements to the roof support slats using six 4 X 70 screws in each roof element.
Step 14: Install the "cover slat, inside" over the joint in the roof elements by predrilling and fastening using eight 3.2 X 40 screws.
Step 15: Install the "cover slat, outside corners" and "cover slat, outside top" by fastening with four 3.2 X 40 screws in each piece. Complete for both sides of the sauna.
Ventilation Slide, Bench, & Back Rest Installation:
Step 16: Place the ventilation slide over the ventilation cutout and predrill and fasten using four 3.5 X 40 screws.
Step 17: Install an upper bench support slat (dimensions vary by model) on each side wall 33-7/8" off the floor, using three 5 X 70 screws per slat. Install the lower bench support slat on each side 16-1/8" off the floor, using three 5 X 70 screws per slat.
Step 18: Attach the last upper bench support slat to the bench foot by predrilling and fastening using three 5 X 70 screws; place it 3-1/8" below the top.
Step 19: Place the upper and lower benches on the bench support slats. Place the short bench against the front face of the upper bench. From underneath, fasten it to the upper bench using three 5 X 70 screws. Depending on layout, it can be placed on the right or left wall. Fasten the short bench to the bench foot using three 5 X 70 screws. Lastly, fasten the bench foot to the side wall using three 5 X 90 screws.
Door Installation:
Step 20: Remove cover and back plates on hinges. Install hinges to the glass panel with hinge holes, ensuring they swing outward. Make sure hinges are flat; adjust spacers if needed. Replace back plate and cover plate.
Step 21: Repeat for the door glass, ensuring the bottom handle hole is 36-3/8" from the bottom of the glass.
Step 22: Install the door handle with screws on the inside of the sauna.
Step 23: At the top door element, cut a slit in the gasket to expose the magnet hole. Insert the magnet and remove any gasket in front of it. The slit should be on the side opposite the hinges.
Step 24: Place the magnet catch over the top of the door and align with the magnet.
Heater Protection Grille:
Step 25: Attach the two side panels to the front panel using four 3.2 X 60 screws. Attach the heater grille to the wall using four 3.2 X 60 screws. The grille may be easier to install after the heater.
Heater:
DANGER: Turn off power to the heater at the breaker before installation or maintenance. Failure to do so can lead to electrocution and death.
CAUTION:
- Improper installation of the heater or mounting bracket could cause the heater to fall, leading to burns and other injuries.
- Before placing or adjusting stones, ensure the heater is back to room temperature to prevent burns.
Your sauna kit includes a cable cover slat for heater electrical and temperature sensor cables. Cut to size, predrill, and fasten using 3.2 X 60 screws.
Final Things
Once assembly is complete, sweep and vacuum the inside of the sauna. Wipe down the entire interior with a damp cloth to remove any remaining dirt, dust, and debris.
Traditional Sauna Use
You are ready to enjoy your sauna! Use it in a wet or dry fashion. Dry means no water on the stones; wet means increasing humidity by sprinkling water on the stones. Note that only a small amount of water is needed for a wet sauna experience.
The typical sauna experience, originating in Finland, is as follows:
- Set your heater to achieve the desired temperature, typically 160-185+ °F. Novice users should start at the lower end and increase over time.
- Take a quick shower or dip in a hot tub or pool before entering.
- Step into the sauna and enjoy for 5-15 minutes, using a towel. Leave once you are perspiring freely.
- Cool down with a plunge in a pool, shower, snowbank, or lake. Relax and cool down for 10-20 minutes.
- Re-enter the sauna. You may sprinkle small amounts of water onto the stones to create steam. If water spills through the heater to the floor, you are using too much water, but this will not harm the heater or sauna.
- Continue repeating this process. After your final visit, relax for at least 20 minutes. Shower with warm water, finishing with cool water to close pores.
- Prepare to feel refreshed!
Whatever your sauna routine, it is imperative that you STAY HYDRATED!
