SAUNA ASSEMBLY
foundational stability: Ensure the sauna foundation is sturdy and level. If the foundation is not, the sauna could tilt, shift, or fall, leading to injury.
FLOOR ASSEMBLY
Begin assembly by placing the three base frames on the floor. Using your rubber mallet, install the dovetail key into both corners. Ensure there is enough space behind the sauna for access during assembly.
WALL ASSEMBLY
Begin assembling walls by placing the salt stone wall with ventilation hole on the rear base on the right-hand side. Place a 90-degree corner post next to the salt stone panel. Fasten the corner post to the wall panel using 6x120 screws through the predrilled holes in the corner post. When fastening near a salt block, use 6x90 screws to prevent cracking the salt blocks.
Place a solid wood wall panel next to the corner post. Fasten this panel to the corner post using screws and predrilled holes. Place another similar panel next to it, followed by a wooden panel with multiclips on the front right corner. Slide the right front corner post down over the multiclips on the wall panel. Ensure the corner post is fully locked into place; tap the top with a rubber mallet if necessary.
Place the remaining three salt stone wall panels on the back wall. Place a corner post and fasten using 6x120 and 6x90 screws into the predrilled holes.
Assemble the left wall using wooden panels. Fasten the first panel to the corner post with 6x120 screws. Place another wooden panel, followed by a wooden panel with multiclips. Place the left corner post by sliding the multiclips over the clips on the end panel. Ensure the corner post is fully locked into place; tap the top with a rubber mallet if necessary.
Finish wall assembly by inserting 4x70 screws at an angle through the top to connect middle panels to adjacent outer panels. Screws should be installed at an angle as indicated.
SALT WALL LIGHTS
Screw in a light bar clip approximately 6 inches from each end, above and below the salt blocks. Install another clip midway between these, ensuring it aligns with the first clips for proper light bar attachment. Snap the light bars into the clips, directing the cord towards the nearest outlet. Carefully slide the sauna into its final location to complete assembly.
FRONT GLASS ASSEMBLY
Apply the aluminum "U" channel to the bottom of the side piece of glass with hinge holes and place it into the groove on the left corner post. Orient the glass with holes facing inward. Repeat this process for the solid piece of glass on the right side. Note: The door can swing either direction. To change the swing direction, swap the two glass panels.
Place the header over the glass panels and insert the dowel pins into the predrilled holes in the corner posts. A rubber mallet may be needed to fully insert the pins. Fasten the header to the corner posts by inserting 4x70 screws at an angle on both ends.
ROOF ASSEMBLY
Locate the two long roof support slats. Measure 4 inches and 27 inches from both ends and drill holes using a 1/8-inch drill bit. Screw the roof supports into the back and front walls using the drilled holes and 4x70 screws. Ensure the top of the support is flush with the top of the wall.
Repeat for the two short roof support slats. Measure 4 inches from both ends and 29-1/8 inches from one end for the middle. Drill holes at these locations using a 1/8-inch drill bit. Install these supports on the two remaining walls using the drilled holes.
Place a roof panel with a notch on three sides onto the roof support slats. Place the panel with one tongue edge and one groove edge next to it, matching the edges. Carefully slide the last roof panel into place. Fasten the roof panels to the roof support slats using 3.5x35 screws.
UPPER BENCH ASSEMBLY
In each inside back corner, measure up 32-1/4 inches from the floor and make a mark. Place the top of a bench support brace at the mark, running from the back corner towards the front, and fasten using 5x70 screws. Repeat for the right side bench support. On the right wall, measure 9-1/4 inches from where the bench support ended, towards the front wall. Place another bench support starting at that mark, running towards the front, and fasten it into place.
Place the bench screen mounting slats beneath the front end of the bench support slats and fasten using 4x60 screws. Repeat for the left side wall. Place the ventilation cover over the hole in the wall panel and fasten using 3.5x40 screws.
Carefully place the long bench onto the bench support braces and tilt it up so it leans against the back wall. Place the bench screen in front of the bench screen mounting slats and fasten using 3.5x50 screws.
LOWER BENCH ASSEMBLY
Place the lower bench feet on both ends of the lower bench panel and fasten them into place. Use the 45-degree struts to support the bench panel and feet, fastening them into place.
UPPER BENCH ASSEMBLY CONT.
Fasten the bench end trim to the end of the shorter upper bench panel that will face the glass wall panel. Place the post bench attachment in the corner where the end trim was installed and fasten it into place. Place the post over the bench attachment and tighten the set screw.
Place the shorter bench onto the bench support and fasten it to the long upper bench using 5x70 screws. Slide the rubber boot onto the base of the bench support post.
BACKREST INSTALLATION
From the top of the long bench, measure up 11 inches to mark the placement for the bottom of the long backrest. Fasten the backrest at this mark using 3.5x40 screws. Repeat for the short backrest.
ROOF TRIM INSTALLATION
Place the roof trim pieces on the left, front, and right sides. The front piece requires 45-degree mitered corners on both ends, and the side pieces require one 45-degree mitered corner each. Fasten the trim to the roof by installing 3.5x40 screws downwards through the top of the trim.
DOOR INSTALLATION
Attach the hinge to the outside of the sauna and the plate to the inside, then fasten them together. Complete this process for both hinges.
On the solid glass panel's gasket, measure 1-3/4 inches from the edge and make a cut. Measure another 3/8 inch further and cut again. Remove this section of gasket and install the magnet catch. With assistance holding the door, attach it using the hinges as described previously. Once the door is fastened with both hinges, close it and ensure the catch aligns with the magnet. Adjust the metal catch on the door as needed to align with the magnet.
For the door handle, position the metal part on the outside and the wooden part on the inside. Place a plastic spacer between the metal and glass, and another between the wood and glass. Insert the screw through the wood hole and loosely screw it into the metal piece. Place spacers at the bottom similar to the top and loosely fasten this section as well. Tighten all screws to secure the door handle, ensuring it is straight.
FINAL THINGS
After assembly, sweep and vacuum the sauna interior. Wipe down the interior with a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust. Use only cleaning supplies specifically designed for sauna use.
Salt stones attract moisture, forming salt crystals. Clean these crystals regularly with a damp cloth; do not use cleaning supplies on the salt stones.
HEATER
? WARNING: Turn off power to the heater at the breaker before installation or maintenance. Failure to do so can result in electrocution or death.
? WARNING: Improper installation of the heater mounting bracket can cause the heater to fall, leading to burns and other injuries.
? CAUTION: Ensure the heater is at room temperature before placing or adjusting stones to prevent burns.
Refer to your specific heater manual for detailed installation information.
TRADITIONAL SAUNA USE
You are now ready to enjoy your sauna!
Your sauna can be used in a wet or dry fashion. Dry use involves no water on the stones, while wet use increases humidity by sprinkling water. Use only a small amount of water for a wet sauna experience.
The sauna tradition originates in Finland. While a typical experience is outlined below, feel free to enjoy your sauna in any way you prefer!
- Set the heater to your desired temperature, typically 160-185°F. Novice users should start at the lower end and gradually increase.
- Take a quick shower or dip in a hot tub/pool.
- Enter the sauna and enjoy for 5-15 minutes, using a towel for comfort. Exit when you are perspiring freely.
- Cool down with a plunge in a pool, shower, or other cold source. Relax for 10-20 minutes.
- Re-enter the sauna. You may sprinkle small amounts of water on the stones for steam. Avoid excessive water that spills onto the floor.
- Repeat the cycle as desired. After your last sauna session, relax for at least 20 minutes. Shower with warm water, finishing with cool water.
- Enjoy feeling refreshed and ready for sleep. Always stay hydrated during your sauna routine.
Optional accessories for your sauna, including a back rest, robe hook, and much more, are available at almostheaven.com/sauna-accessories/.
