10. Detergent
Find out which detergents are suitable for your appliance.
10.1 The correct detergents
Only use detergents made for dishwashers (basic or combination). For best results, use a separate detergent and rinse aid. Modern detergents often use enzymes to break down starch and protein. Oxygen-based agents remove colored stains.
Note: Follow the manufacturer's instructions for each detergent.
Detergent | Description |
---|---|
Tabs | Perfect for all cleaning functions, no measuring required. However, they may not dissolve fully in shorter cycles, leaving residues. |
Powder detergent | Recommended for shorter cycles. Dosage adjustable to soiling level. |
Liquid detergent | Works faster, recommended for shorter cycles without pre-rinse. May leak despite dispenser closure; this is normal. Choose cycles without PreRinse and avoid Delay Start. Dosage adjustable to soiling level. |
10.2 Incompatible detergents
Do not use detergents not designated for dishwasher use or containing chlorine.
Detergent | Description |
---|---|
Liquid hand soap | Can cause increased frothing and damage the appliance. |
Detergent containing chlorine | May leave chlorine residue on dishware. |
10.3 Information on Detergent
Follow detergent instructions. Ecological detergents may have reduced cleaning effects. Adjust rinse aid and water softening settings according to detergent. Combination detergents' rinse aid component may have limited effectiveness; separate rinse aid is better. Handle water-soluble pouches with dry hands and place in a dry dispenser. Rinse aid and salt indicators may still light up with combination detergents. Use tablets with enhanced drying results.
10.4 Adding Detergent
- To open the detergent dispenser, press the locking latch.
- Add detergent to the dry dispenser. Use approximately 1.5 to 1.75 Tbsp (20-25 ml) for normal soiling; slightly less for light soiling. For tablets, use one and insert horizontally.
- Close the lid of the detergent dispenser.
NOTICE: The dispenser opens automatically. Tablets fall into the collecting tray; powder/liquid spreads in the tank. Ensure no other objects obstruct the tablet collecting tray for even dissolution.
10.5 Detergent table
Detergent amount guidelines:
Cycle | Detergent amount |
---|---|
Auto | 1.75 Tbsp (25 ml) or 1 tab |
Normal | 1.75 Tbsp (25 ml) or 1 tab |
Heavy | 3 Tbsp (45 ml) or 1 tab |
Speed 60° | 1 Tbsp (15 ml) |
