Product Overview
The Sena WiFi Charging Cable is designed to facilitate firmware updates for compatible Sena devices. This guide provides instructions on how to set up and use the cable for charging and updating your Sena devices.
LED Indicators
The WiFi Charging Cable features several LED indicators to show its status:
Charging LED
- Disconnected: (No light)
- Charging: (Solid Red) ?
- Fully charged: (Solid Blue) ?
Firmware Update LED
- Disconnected or no firmware update available: (No light)
- Updating firmware: (Blinking Blue) ?
- Update complete: (Solid Blue) ?
WiFi LED
- Not connected to WiFi network: (No light)
- Searching for WiFi network: (Blinking Blue) ?
- Connected to WiFi network: (Solid Blue) ?
The device also has a reset pinhole.

Configure the WiFi Charging Cable
- Plug the WiFi Charging Cable into a wall charger or power source.
- Check the WiFi LED.
- Solid Red: Indicates the cable needs configuration before an update. Proceed to step 3.
- Solid Blue: Indicates the cable is already configured and ready for automatic firmware updates. Proceed to the 'Firmware Update via WiFi' section.
- Blinking Blue (for over 10 seconds): Reset the WiFi Charging Cable by inserting a pin into the reset pinhole and pressing for 1 second. All LEDs will briefly turn on and off. If successful, the WiFi LED will turn solid red. Continue to step 3.
- Open the WiFi settings on your smartphone. Find and select the WiFi Charging Cable, identified as 'SENA WA-xxxxxx'.
- Open the Sena Motorcycles App.
- Navigate to 'Settings' (top right corner).
- Proceed to 'Firmware Update', then 'Update via WiFi'.
- The app will guide you to connect to your WiFi network.
- Select your WiFi network and enter the password. Note: Only 2.4 GHz networks are supported.
- Check the WiFi LED for solid blue.
- Solid Blue: The cable is successfully configured and ready to update firmware automatically while charging.
- Blinking Blue: Wait for the LED to turn solid red, then return to step 3. This may take a few minutes.
Note: If you change your WiFi network, you must reset and reconfigure the WiFi Charging Cable by following the instructions in step 2.c.
Firmware Update via WiFi
- Ensure the WiFi LED of the WiFi Charging Cable is solid blue.
- Power off the Sena device to be updated. Note: A powered-on device cannot be recognized by the WiFi Charging Cable.
- Connect the device to the WiFi Charging Cable. The update will begin automatically. The Update LED will blink blue during the update process.
- After a successful update (approximately 10 minutes), the Update LED will turn solid blue.
Compatible Sena Devices
The WiFi Charging Cable is compatible with the following Sena devices:
- 50S, 50R, 50C
- 30K, 20S, 20S EVO
- Momentum EVO
- SRL3, SRL-Mesh
- Triumph 50S
- Harley-Davidson 50S, Harley-Davidson 50C
Notes:
- The WiFi Charging Cable automatically updates compatible Sena devices without requiring an App connection.
- Ensure the WiFi LED is solid blue before connecting your device to allow for automatic charging and updates.
