Sena WiFi Adapter for 50 Series

This guide provides instructions for setting up and using the Sena WiFi Adapter with the Sena 50 Series motorcycle communication systems.
Sena 50 Utility App
Download the Sena 50 Utility App to set up the WiFi Adapter and automatically upgrade your main unit.
- Android: Google Play Store > Sena 50 Utility
- iOS: App Store > Sena 50 Utility
Save time updating the firmware on your main unit with the Sena 50 Utility App and enjoy your adventure even more.
Connection Setup
- Open the Sena 50 Utility App.
- Click the top-left Menu button ☰ and select the "WiFi Adapter" menu.
- Follow the instructions on the Sena 50 Utility App to connect the WiFi Adapter to a WiFi access point.
Note: To change the WiFi access point, perform the Factory Reset then repeat the steps above.
Upgrading the Firmware of the Main Unit
The firmware will be upgraded automatically while your main unit is charging. If you want to manually upgrade the firmware, change the setting on the Sena 50 Utility App.
Note: Do not disconnect the WiFi Adapter while upgrading the firmware. The product may be damaged.

Powering On
Insert the USB Connector into a USB charger port that is connected to a power source.
Note:
- Any 3rd party USB charger (5 V/1 A) can be used with the WiFi Adapter if the charger is approved by either the FCC, CE, IC, or other locally approved bodies.
- Do not connect the WiFi Adapter to a USB port on your PC.
Factory Reset
If you want to restore the WiFi Adapter to the factory default settings, you can easily reset the unit:
- Gently insert a paper clip into the hole on the back of the unit and lightly press and hold the Pinhole Factory Reset Button for more than 1 second ([HOLD 1s]), and then release the button.
- The WiFi Adapter will automatically restart with the three LEDs on.
Note: The WiFi Adapter will be restored to factory default settings, which include the WiFi configuration setup, the firmware setup, and the language setup.
Connecting to the Main Unit
Insert the USB-C Connector into the main unit's USB-C port.
Note: If you leave the main unit on when connecting it, the charging LED on the WiFi Adapter will blink red slowly.

Mesh Intercom™
When Mesh Intercom is enabled, the 50S will automatically connect to nearby 50S users and allow them to talk to each other by pressing the Mesh Intercom Button.

Open Mesh™
When Mesh Intercom is enabled, the headset will be in Open Mesh (default: channel 1) initially. Users can freely communicate with each other in the same Open Mesh channel.
Channel Setting (Default: channel 1)
If Open Mesh communication experiences interference because other groups are also using channel 1 (default), change the channel. You can select from channels 1 to 9.
Enter into the Channel Setting

Note: To exit the Channel Setting, rotate the Jog Dial clockwise or counterclockwise until you hear a voice prompt, "Exit", and tap the Jog Dial.
Group Mesh™
Group Mesh is a closed group intercom function that allows users to join, leave, or rejoin a group intercom conversation without pairing each headset. Up to 24 users can all be connected in each private group.
Creating a Group Mesh
Creating a Group Mesh requires two or more Open Mesh users.

Step 1: Enter into Mesh Grouping

Step 2: Switch to Group Mesh
The headsets complete Mesh Grouping and automatically switch from Open Mesh to Group Mesh.

Joining an Existing Group Mesh
One of the members in an Existing Group Mesh can allow new members in Open Mesh to join the Existing Group Mesh.

Steps to Join Existing Group Mesh
Step 1: Enter Mesh Grouping
One of the current members and a new member enter into Mesh Grouping to join the Existing Group Mesh.
Operation: (A) (YOU, NEW MEMBER) and (B) (CURRENT MEMBER IN GROUP MESH) ? [HOLD 5s]
Voice Prompt: "Mesh grouping"
Step 2: Confirmation
The headsets complete Mesh Grouping. The new members will hear a voice prompt as their headsets automatically switch from Open Mesh to Group Mesh.

Reset Mesh
If a headset in an Open Mesh or Group Mesh resets the Mesh, it will automatically return to Open Mesh (default: channel 1).

Users can enable/disable the microphone when communicating in a Mesh Intercom.

Bluetooth Intercom
Up to three other people can be paired with the headset for Bluetooth intercom conversations.

There are two ways to pair the headset.

Using the Smart Intercom Pairing (SIP)
SIP allows you to quickly pair with your friends for intercom communication by scanning the QR code on the SENA MOTORCYCLES App without remembering the button operation.
- Pair the mobile phone with the headset.
- Open the SENA MOTORCYCLES App and tap ☰.
- Scan the QR code displayed on your friend's (B) mobile phone.
- Your friend (B) can display the QR code on the mobile phone by tapping ? on the SENA MOTORCYCLES App.
- Tap Save and check that your friend (B) is paired with you (A) correctly.
- Tap ? and repeat steps 3-4 to pair with Intercom Friends (C) and (D).
Note: The Smart Intercom Pairing (SIP) is not compatible with Sena products that use Bluetooth 3.0 or below.
Using the Button

The 50S will automatically pair with a Sena headset.
Status: Flashing blue LED confirms intercoms are paired.
Note: Repeat the step above to pair with Intercom Friends C & D.
