Metra WM-GM29-SWC GM LAN Data Interface with SWC
Installation Instructions for 2006 and Newer GM Vehicles
*For non-amplified models, or models with an analog activated amplifier
Interface Features

Connections to Aftermarket Radio
From the WM-GM29-SWC harness to the aftermarket radio, connect the:
- Black wire to the ground wire.
- Yellow wire to the battery wire.
- Red wire to the accessory wire.
- Blue wire to the power antenna wire (LD-GM29A only).
- Blue/White wire to the amp turn-on wire.
- Orange wire to the illumination wire (if applicable).
Note: LD-GM29B harness has (3) Orange wires.
Speaker Outputs:
- Gray wire to the front right positive speaker output.
- Gray/Black wire to the front right negative speaker output.
- White wire to the front left positive speaker output.
- White/Black wire to the front left negative speaker output.
- Purple wire to the rear right positive speaker output.
- Purple/Black wire to the rear right negative speaker output.
- Green wire to the rear left positive speaker output.
- Green/Black wire to the rear left negative speaker output.
Other Connections:
- Blue/Pink wire to the VSS/speed sense wire.
- Green/Purple wire to the reverse wire.
- Light Green wire to the parking brake wire.
SWC Connections (CONT.)
Connect the 3.5mm jack to the SWC input. For radios with a wire for SWC, use the 3.5mm adapter provided.
Refer to the manual provided with the radio for the following connections:
- Boss (with SWC wire): Key 1 (Gray) - Brown
- Kenwood / JVC (with SWC wire): Blue/Yellow - Brown
- XITE: SWC-2 - Brown
- Universal Radio: Key-A or SWC-1 - Brown / Key-B or SWC-2 - Brown/White
+ After programming, assign SWC buttons within radio menu.

Programming
- Open the driver's door, and keep open during the programming process.
- Cycle the ignition on.
- Connect the WM-GM29-SWC harness into the WM-GM29-SWC interface, and then to the wiring harness in the vehicle.
- Tap the Volume Up button on the steering wheel until the LED stops flashing.
- The LED will flash Green & Red while the interface programs the radio to the steering wheel controls. Once the radio is programmed, the LED will go out, flash, then turn solid Green.
- The LED will once again go out, then quickly flash Green & Red while the interface programs itself to the vehicle. Once programmed, the LED will go out again, then turn solid Green.
- Cycle the ignition off, then back on. Test all functions of the installation for proper operation.
- If the interface fails to function, press and release the reset button, then repeat the programming process from step 4.
