Televes Overlight Optical Transmitter CWDM
Outdoor use, DAB/UHF/SAT, 1570nm, Po 9dBm
Product Overview
The Televes Overlight optical transmitter CWDM is an outdoor device designed for enhanced electronics and optical engineering to distribute TV signals. It is specifically designed for outdoor installation at a minimum distance from the LNB. This CWDM WideBand satellite and terrestrial optical transmitter is intended for two-satellite transmission to more than 64 users. It receives a satellite signal from an RF WideBand LNB and terrestrial band, and distributes it over a fiber output in the 1570nm window with 9dBm optical power.
Thanks to its optimized electronics and low losses, it allows for a reduction in the number of amplifiers required and simplifies deployment in the design of collective installations, preserving signal quality throughout the process. This device is part of the Overlight system, which distributes satellite and terrestrial signals to multiple users through a single optical fiber. It allows amplification.
This product is certified with the European IRS Certification Scheme mark, indicating it has passed the relevant tests according to the latest EICS test specification, available from the DTG or CAI.

WideBand Technology
WideBand, also known as FullBand, refers to broadband transmission technology that utilizes a wide range of frequencies. In WideBand TV systems, a substantial portion or the entire frequency spectrum is available to users. It can be used in fiber deployments requiring long cable runs or in coaxial scenarios combined with multiswitches adapted to this technology.
With WideBand technology, an LNB captures a complete satellite signal and distributes it through 2 universal outputs (vertical -V- and horizontal -H-). Each output carries a combination of high (H) and low (L) bands, covering a frequency range between 290 and 2340 MHz.
While Quattro technology is currently the most widely deployed in TV systems, WideBand technology offers significant advantages:
- Simpler, faster, and cleaner installation: The number of coaxial cables connecting the LNB to the multiswitches is halved compared to traditional Quattro deployments, leading to quicker, easier, and tidier installations with fewer cables.
- Wider bandwidth: WideBand channels can carry more information due to their broad bandwidth (290-2340MHz), enabling a greater number of services for end-users.
- Reusable deployment: WideBand technology allows signal distribution by reusing existing Quattro installations. It can be distributed through the existing 4 cables from the roof to capture signals from up to 2 satellites, requiring only WideBand compatible LNBs and MSWs.
