Safety Precautions
To avoid possible electric shock or personal injury, and to prevent damage to the Meter or equipment, adhere to the following rules:
- Inspect the exterior casing for damage before use. Do not use if damaged or if parts of the casing are missing. Pay attention to insulation around connectors.
- Inspect test leads for damaged insulation or exposed metal. Check test leads for continuity.
- Do not apply more than the rated voltage between terminals or between any terminal and grounding.
- Ensure the manual rotary switch is in the correct position before measurement and do not move it during measurement.
- Exercise special care when working with voltages over 60V DC or 30V AC RMS due to the risk of electric shock.
- Use the proper terminals, function, and range for measurements.
- Do not use or store the Meter in high temperatures, high humidity, or near strong magnetic fields.
- Keep fingers behind the finger guards when using test leads.
- Disconnect circuit power and discharge high-voltage capacitors before testing resistance, continuity, or diodes.
- Replace the battery as soon as the low battery indicator appears to avoid false readings.
- Remove test leads from the circuit and turn off the Meter before opening the case for servicing.
- Use only identical replacement parts for servicing.
- Do not alter the internal circuit of the Meter.
- Clean the surface with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive materials or solvents.
- Turn off the Meter when not in use and remove the battery if not used for an extended period. Check the battery regularly for leaks.

Operation Instructions
Measuring Voltage
- Connect the Black test lead to the COM Jack and the Red test lead to the V Jack.
- Set the function switch to V~ or V= range.
- Connect the test leads to the source or load.
- Read the LCD display. The result will be a DC measurement if polarity is shown.
NOTE:
- Unstable readings on small ranges (e.g., mV) when test leads are not connected are normal.
- Do not measure voltages exceeding 600V DC or 600V AC RMS (CAT III) or 1000V DC / 750V AC RMS (CAT II).
Measuring Current
- Set the function switch to the 60A, 600A, or 1000A range.
- Press the trigger to open the jaws and clamp onto one conductor.
- The result displayed is AC Current.
Measuring Resistance
- Connect the Black test lead to the COM Jack and the Red test lead to the Ω Jack.
- Set the function switch to the Ω range.
- Press the Range Button to manually select the range if desired.
- Press the Select Button to select resistance measurement mode (Ω symbol appears).
- Connect the test leads to the load.
- Read the results on the display.
NOTE:
- High resistance measurements (>1 MΩ) may take a few seconds to stabilize.
- 'OL' is displayed for open circuits (over range).
- Ensure circuit power is removed and capacitors are discharged before measuring in-circuit resistance.
Continuity Test
- Connect the Black test lead to the COM Jack and the Red test lead to the Continuity Jack.
- Set the function switch to the Continuity range.
- Press the Select Button to select continuity measurement mode (buzzer symbol appears).
Diode Test
- Connect the Black test lead to the COM Jack and the Red test lead to the Diode Jack.
- Connect the Red test lead to the anode and the Black test lead to the cathode of the diode.
- The meter will show the approximate forward voltage. 'OL' is shown if connections are reversed.
Measuring Temperature
- Set the range switch to the TEMP position.
- Connect the thermocouple: Black to COM Jack, Red to Ω Jack.
- Place the working end of the thermocouple on or inside the object being tested.
- The temperature is shown in Celsius.
- Press the Select Button to convert between Fahrenheit and Celsius.
NOTE:
- The testing temperature is displayed automatically when the thermocouple is connected.
- The surrounding temperature is shown when the sensor circuit is open.
- The temperature limit for the included thermocouple is 250°C (short periods up to 300°C). Higher temperatures require a different thermocouple.
Measuring Capacitance
- Connect the Black test lead to the COM Jack and the Red test lead to the Capacitance Jack.
- Set the range switch to the Capacitance position.
- Connect the test leads across the capacitor, observing polarity.
NOTE: Capacitance measurements above 100uF may take up to 5 seconds to stabilize.
Measuring Frequency (Auto Range)
- Set the range switch to the Hz/Duty position.
- Connect the Black test lead to the COM Jack and the Red test lead to the Hz Jack.
- Connect the test leads to the load.
NOTE: Do not apply more than 250 V rms to the input. Readings may not be accurate above 100 V rms.
When using the clamp to measure AC Current, press the Hz/Duty key to display the frequency of the measured current.
AUTO POWER OFF
The meter will automatically power off after approximately 15 minutes of inactivity. Rotate the range switch or press a button to turn it back on.
