Installation Guide
Step 1: Prepare the door and check dimensions
For installation on new doors:
- Prepare door and jamb: Take out the 'Door Marking Template'. Fold the template and place it on the door 36" (915mm) from the ground as marked.
- Mark the door for drilling: Mark the center hole on the door edge through the template guide for a 1" (25mm) latch bolt. Mark the center hole on the door face through the template guide for a 2-3/8" (60mm) or 2-3/4" (70mm) backset.
- Drill and chisel door: Drill a 2-1/8" (54mm) hole through the door face. Drill a 1" (25mm) hole in the center of the door edge for the Latch Assembly. Insert the Latch Assembly, ensuring it's parallel to the door face. Mark the outline and remove the latch. Chisel 1/8" (3mm) deep or until the latch face is flush with the door edge.
- Mark and drill door jamb: Mark the center hole on the edge of the jamb, aligning it with the center of the Latch Bolt on the door edge. Drill a hole in the door jamb. Check if the strike plate fits perfectly. Outline the strike plate edges. Chisel 1/8" (3mm) deep or until flush. Install the Strike Plate using the provided 3/4" (19mm) screws.
For installation on doors with pre-drilled holes:
- Check door compatibility / Remove existing door knob: Ensure the door has compatible pre-drilled holes. Remove any existing door knobs. The images show compatible and incompatible door knob configurations.
- Double check door dimensions:
- Backset: Confirm the backset is either 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" (60 or 70mm).
- Thickness: Ensure the door thickness is between 1-3/8" to 2.5" (35mm to 65mm).
- Hole in the door: Measure to confirm the hole in the door is 2-1/8" (54mm).
- Hole in the door edge: Measure to confirm the hole in the door edge is 1" (25mm).
Important Notes:
- DO NOT use an electric screwdriver; hand-tighten screws with a Phillips screwdriver.
- DO NOT over-tighten screws.
- DO NOT install if your door thickness is out of range.
- DO NOT mix new and used batteries when the product is in use.
Step 2: Install the latch and strike plate
Hold the latch in front of the door hole, with the latch face flush against the door edge. Ensure the square-shaped hole is centered. For a 2-3/4" (70mm) backset, pull to extend the latch to center the squared-shaped hole.
Install the latch using screws. Ensure the bolt aligns correctly with the strike plate. In most cases, the existing strike plate can be used; store the original if not needed.
Step 3: Install the Exterior Assembly
- Make sure the door is open.
- Ensure the keyhole is in a vertical position.
- Insert the Exterior Assembly onto the door with the rod bolts going through the round holes on the latch, and the square spindle and control wire going through the square-shaped (center) hole. The "UP" mark on the spindle should face upward.
- Connect the control wire to the specified socket. Forcing the control wire elsewhere can damage the connector and make the door knob unusable.
Step 4: Install the Interior Assembly
- Remove the top screw and pull out the cover.
- Install the interior knob onto the door with the rod bolts, square spindle, and control wire, aligning them with the corresponding holes.
- Secure both exterior and interior knobs using the provided 2-3/8" (60mm) or 1-3/5" (40mm) screws. Tighten with a Phillips Screwdriver, but DO NOT over-tighten.
- Plug the control wire into the female socket on the battery compartment.
- Install the batteries into the compartment.
- Press and hold the reset button until a long beep and green light are heard, indicating a successful reset.
- Install and secure the cover with the screw.
Step 5: Testing the door knob
- Always test with the door open.
- Ensure both interior and exterior knobs are not slanted.
- Enter the default admin passcode (010203) and test the exterior knob. The bolt should move smoothly in and out.
- Use the keys to test the exterior knob; the bolt should move smoothly.
- Test the interior knob; the bolt should move smoothly.
- Close the door to verify the bolt fits correctly into the jamb hole.
NOTE:
- Ensure the door knob has been reset successfully.
- If you forget your passcode, use the backup keys to unlock.
- If backup keys are lost, contact a locksmith immediately.
Congratulations! Sequra is ready for use.

Troubleshooting
- No indicator nor sound response from pressing a button:
- Check if the cable wire is securely attached. Reconnect if necessary.
- Ensure batteries are inserted correctly (polarity).
- Verify batteries have sufficient power.
- Check if the door knob is in Silent Mode.
If locked out and unable to access the battery compartment, use a USB-C emergency power source.
- Latch will not extend or retract completely when closed:
- Check and adjust the hole size in the door edge according to the installation guide.
- Ensure the latch is installed correctly for the backset length.
- Confirm the thinner edge of both interior and exterior knobs face downward and are vertical to the floor.
- Bolt is not able to go through the strike plate:
- Ensure the bolt aligns with the strike plate.
- Verify the bolt edge can slide into the strike plate.
- Check that the depth of the hole in the door jamb fits the bolt.
- Failed to unlock using a passcode:
- If unable to unlock with administrator passcode, reset the door knob.
- If unable to unlock with a user passcode, use the administrator passcode to modify it.
- Check button functionality: Turn off Silent Mode and press each button; a buzzer should sound each time.
- Failed to lock or unlock/Failed to fully turn the knob:
- Check for overtightened screws during interior piece installation.
- Ensure both knobs are not slanted from the door edge.
- Confirm sufficient battery level and that new batteries are not mixed with old ones.
Important Safeguards
- Protect your administrator code by setting a separate user code for daily use. Use the administrator code only for managing users.
- Double-check recipients when sending user codes.
- Dispose of used batteries according to local laws and regulations.
- Always keep your lock's standard key accessible.
- Prevent liquids from entering the lock's electrical parts or battery compartment.
- Replace batteries immediately when warned.
CAUTION: Prevent unauthorized entry. Since anyone with access to the interior assembly can factory reset the door knob, routinely check the administrator code for any unauthorized changes.
WARNING: No lock provides complete security alone. This lock can be defeated by force, technical means, or entry elsewhere on the property. Common sense, caution, and awareness of your surroundings are crucial. For enhanced security, consult a qualified locksmith or security professional.
