Installation Steps
Step 1: Preparation
1.1 Vehicle Check: Verify vehicle compatibility and towing capacity via the VIN plate and vehicle documents. Ensure the vehicle is homologated for towing.
1.2 Access Mounting Points: Remove the rear bumper or trim panels to access the vehicle's chassis mounting points. Clean the mounting surfaces.
Step 2: Mount Tow Bar Frame
2.1 Position Frame: Place the main tow bar frame onto the vehicle's chassis mounting points.
2.2 Secure Frame: Insert M10 x 40 mm bolts (4x) and tighten them to the specified torque (e.g., 48 Nm for 8.8 grade, 67 Nm for 10.9 grade).
Step 3: Attach Hitch Ball Neck
3.1 Insert Ball Neck: Insert the hitch ball neck into the tow bar receiver.
3.2 Lock Mechanism: Engage the locking mechanism. It should click into place ?. Ensure approximately 5mm clearance between the ball neck and the receiver housing. If a bolt secures the neck, tighten it to the specified torque (e.g., M10 - 67Nm).
3.3 Verify Lock: Gently pull the ball neck to confirm it is securely locked. ❌ Do not proceed if not securely locked.
Step 4: Electrical Connection
4.1 Mount Socket Housing: Attach the electrical socket housing to the designated bracket on the tow bar.
4.2 Connect Wiring: Connect the vehicle's wiring harness to the tow bar's electrical socket, following manufacturer's guidelines.
Step 5: Final Checks
