Important Notes and Warnings
Please observe the following:
- National guidelines concerning official approval must be followed.
- Any alteration or conversion of the tow bar is prohibited and will result in cancellation of type approval.
- Remove any insulating compound or underseal from the vehicle's mating surfaces where the tow bar will be attached.
- The tow bar is designed for towing trailers with ball couplings and for use with approved load carriers. Any other use is prohibited.
- Parking Assistance Systems: Vehicles equipped with parking assistance systems (e.g., PDC) may experience malfunctions after tow bar installation if the ball bar or coupling is within the sensor detection area. Adjust the sensor detection area or deactivate the system if necessary. This is not expected with detachable or pivoted ball bars if they are removed from their operating position.
- Subject to alteration.
Installation Instructions
Follow these steps carefully for installation:
Step 1: Access Vehicle Undercarriage
Locate the designated mounting points on the vehicle's chassis, typically near the rear bumper area.
Step 2: Prepare Bumper Area
Access the rear bumper, potentially removing trim panels or fasteners.
Step 3: Remove Bumper
Detach the rear bumper by releasing clips and screws.
Step 4: Remove Spare Wheel (If Necessary)
Lower or remove the spare wheel for better access.

Step 10: Install Wiring Harness
Route and connect the trailer wiring harness to the tow bar's electrical socket.
Step 11: Attach Ball Hitch
Mount the ball hitch assembly (Part 2) using M12x75 and M6x16 bolts.
Step 12: Torque Fasteners

Ensure all connections are secure and the tow bar is correctly mounted.
Clearance and Weight Requirements
Ensure compliance with the following clearance specifications as per Directive 94/20/EC:
- Minimum clearance dimensions and angles must be maintained.
- The D-Value and vertical load ratings are critical for safe operation.
- Refer to the vehicle's registration document for its maximum towing capacity.
Note on Weight: Specifications related to Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) and maximum towing capacity are provided in multiple languages, emphasizing the importance of matching the tow bar's capabilities to the vehicle's limits.
Maintenance
Regular checks are recommended:
- Initial inspection at 0 km.
- Follow-up inspection at 1000 km.
