Installation Guide
Follow these steps to install and set up your OSRAM SMART+ RF Soil Moisture Sensor:
Step 1: Open the Sensor
Unscrew the indicated screws (a, b) to open the sensor housing.
Step 2: Insert Cover
Place the cover into the designated slot within the housing.
Step 3: Install Batteries
Insert three AAA 1.5V batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
Step 4: Close the Sensor
Close the housing and secure it using the screws (a, b, c).
Step 5: Handling Precautions
Handle the device with care. Observe warning symbols [⚠].
Step 6: LED Indicator
The sensor features an LED indicator that shows status, such as a red light [🔴] or a blue light [🕻].
Step 7: Placement
When placing multiple sensors, ensure they are at least 15cm apart [Max 15cm].
Step 8: Connectivity Range
Connect to irrigation system components within a maximum range of 50m [Max 50m].
Step 9: Power On/Off
To power the sensor on or off, press and hold the button for more than 5 seconds [⏻ Push >5s].
Step 10: Calibration
The sensor can be calibrated for different watering cycles (e.g., 1x, 2x, 5x) to correspond to specific soil moisture levels.
Step 11: App Integration
The sensor integrates with smart irrigation systems via a mobile app. Follow app instructions to pair and activate the sensor.
Step 12: Battery Status
The device may indicate battery status [🔋] and LED status [🔴].
Step 13: RF Communication
The sensor uses RF communication with a frequency of 433.92MHz FSK. It communicates periodically (e.g., every 5 minutes) with status updates indicated by LED flashes (e.g., every 20 seconds).

The sensor reports soil moisture in percentages, reflecting actual conditions:

- 60% Reported: Actual soil moisture 51-100%, sensor reading ≤10%

- 100% Reported: Actual soil moisture 51-100%, sensor reading ≤10%
