FlexRadio FLEX-6400M & FLEX-6600M Quick Start Guide
Verify Contents of the Box
Ensure the following items are included:
- Radio unit
- Microphone
- Power Cable
- Ethernet Cable
Make Connections
Connect Antenna: Connect your antenna to the ANT1 connector on the radio.

Connect Key/Paddles: Connect your Morse code key or paddles to the KEY connector.

Connect Power: Connect the power cable to the 13.8VDC power input on the radio and to a suitable 13.8VDC power supply.

Connect Ethernet: Connect the Ethernet cable from the radio to your home router. This is required for software updates and remote operation.

Connect Earth Ground: Connect the radio's earth ground lug to a proper earth ground connection for safety and performance.

Connect Microphone: Connect your microphone to the MIC connector and ensure the PTT (Push-To-Talk) connection is made.

Connect Powered Speaker: Connect a powered speaker to the speaker output if desired.

Turn On Radio and Software Setup
Download and Install SmartSDR: Obtain the SmartSDR software from flexradio.com/downloads and install it on your computer.

Connect to Radio: Launch SmartSDR, select your radio from the chooser, and click 'Connect'.

Multitouch Gestures
The radio's display supports several multitouch gestures for operation:
Drag to pan: Touch and drag on the spectrum display to move the view.

Pinch to zoom: Place two fingers on the screen and move them apart to zoom in, or together to zoom out.

Double tap to tune: Double-tap on a frequency in the spectrum display to tune the radio to that frequency.
