FlexRadio FLEX-6400M & FLEX-6600M Quick Start Guide

Verify Contents of the Box

Ensure the following items are included:

Make Connections

  1. Connect Antenna: Connect your antenna to the ANT1 connector on the radio.

  2. Connect Key/Paddles: Connect your Morse code key or paddles to the KEY connector.

  3. Connect Power: Connect the power cable to the 13.8VDC power input on the radio and to a suitable 13.8VDC power supply.

  4. Connect Ethernet: Connect the Ethernet cable from the radio to your home router. This is required for software updates and remote operation.

  5. Connect Earth Ground: Connect the radio's earth ground lug to a proper earth ground connection for safety and performance.

  6. Connect Microphone: Connect your microphone to the MIC connector and ensure the PTT (Push-To-Talk) connection is made.

  7. Connect Powered Speaker: Connect a powered speaker to the speaker output if desired.

Turn On Radio and Software Setup

  1. Download and Install SmartSDR: Obtain the SmartSDR software from flexradio.com/downloads and install it on your computer.

  2. Connect to Radio: Launch SmartSDR, select your radio from the chooser, and click 'Connect'.
