LIEBHERR NoFrost Combined Refrigerator-Freezer Installation Guide

Model: ECBN 62 (Part Number: 7083 082-00)

Setting Up

Appliance Dimensions

The appliance has the following dimensions:

A diagram illustrates the appliance's external dimensions, showing measurements A through H and an angle of 105°.

Appliance Venting

Required airflow is directed through the plinth. Use the provided ventilation grille for the opening. This opening must not be covered.

A diagram shows airflow directed through the lower front of the appliance via the plinth.

Electrical Connection

Installation Dimensions

The electrical socket must be positioned within the grey-marked areas or above the installation recess. The water shut-off valve must also be within the grey-marked areas.

Warning: The water shut-off valve must not be directly above the socket. Ensure adequate gap according to country regulations.

A diagram shows the installation recess with dimensions (2300 mm height, 915 mm width, 610 mm depth) and indicates zones for socket and water shut-off valve placement. Side distances of 1000 mm and 2000 mm are shown, along with a height of 2032 mm.

The ice maker, if fitted, requires connection to the mains water supply.

Mounting the Anti-Tipping Device

Warning: The supplied anti-tipping bracket must be installed to prevent the appliance from tipping when doors are opened.

Installation Steps:

  1. Mark the appliance's center line on the floor and align the bracket's center to it.
  2. Secure the bracket to the floor using the 3 included screws (6 mm x 60 mm). The distance from the appliance body's leading edge to the bracket's rear edge is 610 mm.

Caution: Ensure no electric cables or water pipes are in the wall section where the bracket is secured.

Important: Use suitable plugs for concrete floors. If the floor slopes, fit the bracket horizontally using spacers.

Diagrams illustrate marking the center line, securing the bracket with screws, and showing the 610 mm distance.

Connection to the Water Supply

Safety Instructions and Warnings:

Water Pressure:

Use the supplied stainless steel hose (3 m) for connection to a cold water pipe that meets hygiene regulations and can withstand operating pressure.

Diagrams show the appliance being placed, the water hose routed, and connected to the solenoid valve and shut-off tap.

Installation Steps (Appliance Placement & Connections)

  1. Place the appliance in front of the installation recess.
  2. Apply cover strips on the side walls of the appliance.
  3. Insert the bent section of the water hose through the opening at the rear of the appliance.
  4. Connect the hose to the solenoid valve at the front side.
  5. Route the mains cable towards the socket.
  6. Route the water hose towards the water shut-off valve.
  7. Push the appliance slowly into the recess until the compressor mounting plate touches the anti-tipping bracket. Warning: Ensure the compressor mounting plate touches the anti-tipping bracket.
  8. Connect the hose to the shut-off tap. Open the tap and check for leaks.

Warning: Do not connect to power supply until installation is complete.

Caution: Route cables and hoses to avoid damage during sliding the appliance into the recess.

Important: After switching on the ice maker, bleed the water supply system (refer to operating instructions).

Diagrams illustrate routing hoses, connecting to valves, and sliding the appliance into place.

Levelling the Appliance

  1. Adjust the height at the front by twisting the adjustable feet (use provided spanner). Caution: Front feet must be firmly on the floor.
  2. Adjust the height at the rear by turning the adjusting bars clockwise until the compressor mounting plate touches the anti-tipping bracket.

Diagrams show adjusting front feet and rear bars.

Fastening the Appliance in the Recess

Fasten the appliance in the recess through the upper and lower hinges of the refrigerator doors using 2 screws per hinge.

A diagram shows screws being inserted into the door hinges.

Adjusting the Front of the Drawer

If needed, adjust the front of the freezer drawers. Transfer screws to the long slots on the drawer sides and tighten once the front is in the correct position.

A diagram shows a side view of a freezer drawer with adjustment screws and slots.

Before Fitting the Door Panels

Remove the cover and unscrew the attachment bracket from the refrigerator doors. These brackets will be mounted onto the refrigerator door panels.

Unscrew the attachment brackets from the freezer drawers. These will be mounted onto the freezer panels.

Important: Securing nuts are needed for re-mounting door panels. Screws are needed for re-mounting freezer panels.

Diagrams show the removal of covers and attachment brackets.

Panel Dimensions:

Maximum Panel Weight:

Mounting the Attachment Brackets onto the Door Panels

Mark lines on the refrigerator door panels. Align the dismounted brackets to these lines and fasten each with a minimum of 6 screws (4 x 16 mm).

Fasten the provided brackets onto the freezer drawer panels using three screws (4 x 16 mm) for each bracket.

Diagrams (Fig. A, Fig. A 1, Fig. A 2) illustrate marking lines and attaching brackets to refrigerator and freezer panels.

Mounting the Refrigerator Panel

This procedure is for one panel; it's the same for both.

  1. Open the refrigerator door and suspend the panel on the top adjusting pins.
  2. Screw securing nuts onto the adjusting pins and tighten slightly.
  3. Close the refrigerator door and check the panel height.
  4. Adjust height if necessary by undoing securing nuts and using the adjusting pins.
  5. To fasten the panel at the bottom, the soft-stop cylinder must be dismantled. Grasp and pull down the soft-stop cylinder; it retracts.
  6. Transfer the lower edge of the attachment bracket onto the panel using a pencil, then remove the panel.
  7. Dismantle the lower attachment bracket from the refrigerator door. Align it to the lines on the refrigerator door panel and fasten with a minimum of 6 screws (4 x 16 mm).
  8. Open the refrigerator door and suspend the panel on the top adjusting pins.
  9. Screw securing nuts onto the adjusting pins and tighten slightly.
  10. Move the panel to the left until it contacts the rail.
  11. Tighten the hex nuts finally.
  12. Fasten the refrigerator panel using the same screws that held the lower bracket.
  13. Extend the soft-stop cylinder and connect it with the ball stud.
  14. Click the cover into place.

Diagrams (Fig. B, C, D, E, G, H, I, K, L, M) illustrate these steps.

Mounting the Freezer Panels

  1. Pull out the top freezer drawer and screw on the pre-assembled panel using the same screws as for the attachment brackets (3.5 x 13 mm).
  2. Close the drawer, check panel position, and adjust height by undoing/tightening screws.
  3. Pull out the bottom freezer drawer and mount its panel similarly.
  4. For both drawers, cover the gap between the drawer and panel with supplied cover strips. Remove protective film from the trim and insert into the gap at the top.

Diagrams illustrate attaching panels to freezer drawers and using cover strips.

Mounting the Dust Filter

The dust filter prevents dirt from entering the motor compartment, maintaining refrigeration performance.

  1. Pull the bottom freezer drawer fully out.
  2. Remove the protective film from the dust filter. Insert the filter at the bottom, press the button down, and click it into place.

A diagram shows the filter insertion point.

Mounting the Ventilation Grille

Important: Install the supplied ventilation grille for fault-free operation. Do not obstruct or cover the ventilation opening.

A diagram shows the ventilation grille.
