This manual provides instructions for operating and maintaining your Continental Edison stand mixer.

General Safety Instructions

Read all instructions carefully before use and keep them for future reference.

  • This appliance is not intended for use by children. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.
  • Persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities may use the appliance if supervised or instructed on safe use and understanding the hazards.
  • Children must not play with the appliance.
  • Always disconnect the appliance from the power supply when unattended, before assembly, disassembly, or cleaning.
  • Switch off and disconnect the appliance before changing accessories or approaching moving parts.
  • Use the appliance only as instructed; misuse can cause electric shock or other hazards.
  • Exercise caution with sharp blades when emptying the bowl or cleaning.
  • If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid hazards.
  • The appliance is for household use only; do not use outdoors.
  • Never immerse the machine in liquid. Do not use with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.
  • Keep fingers away from moving parts and accessories. Never insert fingers into the hinge mechanism.
  • Use only original spare parts.
  • Keep packaging materials (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene) out of children's reach for their safety.
  • Do not insert anything into the rotating hooks while the machine is working.
  • Place the appliance on a smooth, flat, and stable working surface.
  • Be careful when raising the arm of the appliance.
  • Be cautious if hot liquid is poured into the machine, as it can be ejected due to sudden steaming.
  • For cleaning instructions for food-contact surfaces, refer to the "CLEANING" section.
  • To prevent the motor from running for too long, it will operate for 8 minutes and then stop automatically. To restart, the selector must be returned to the OFF position.

Before Connecting to Power

  • Before connecting, verify that the power supply type and mains voltage match the appliance's rating label.
  • For first-time use, remove all wrapping paper and plastic bags, and clean the accessories.

Intelligent Switch & Controls

The machine features "Mode", "0", and "Speed" controls.

  • (0 level): On / Off. The indicator light turns red when the machine is ready.
  • (Speed level): Adjusts speed from Minimum to Maximum.
  • ("P" Mode level): Pulse function. Press to blend, release to stop.
  • ("I" Mode level): 1-minute timer. The machine automatically starts at minimum speed, increases to half speed, and runs for 1 minute.
  • ("II" Mode level): 2-minute timer. The machine automatically starts at minimum speed, increases to half speed, and runs for 2 minutes.
  • ("III" Mode level): 4-minute timer. The machine automatically increases from minimum to maximum speed and runs for 4 minutes.

All speeds feature a slow start function to prevent splashing, gradually increasing to the selected speed.

Variable Speed Controls: Turn the control knob left for slow speed, right for fast speed.

Mode Controls: Turn the switch to "0", then choose Pulse, 1 min, 2 min, or 4 min timer. Press the knob to start the mode setting.

If the indicator light is not ready, check that the outlet cover and accessories are securely locked, and the plug is correctly inserted.

Choosing the Right Accessory

Ensure the bowl lid is correctly assembled before using any accessory. Choose speeds appropriate for each accessory.

Note: The bowl cannot process more than 800g of flour with water (flour:water = 1:0.65) at one time.

Accessory Assembly Steps (General):

  1. Ensure the power cord is unplugged.
  2. Turn the bar knob to unlock the top part of the machine.
  3. Lift the top part of the machine.
  4. Choose and insert the accessory into the pin of the top part.
  5. Turn the accessory to lock it into the pin.
  6. Add ingredients into the bowl.
  7. Assemble the bowl lid onto the top part.
  8. Turn the bar knob to lock the top part down.
  9. Plug in the appliance and select the desired speed.

Flex Edge Beater Specifics:

The flex edge is useful for scraping the bowl sides, pushing mixture back into the bowl. It can also be used manually after unplugging. Do not use for hard or blocked mixtures.

Blender (Melangeur):

Assembly:

  1. Remove the outlet cover (1).
  2. Attach the blender onto the outlet shaft.
  3. Lock the blender jar by turning it clockwise.
  4. Add ingredients, then lock the lid and place the measure cup.

For optimal performance, use max speed or "4 min. timer" mode. Allow the machine to rest for 20 minutes before next use.

Remark: Ensure the blender and lid are securely locked; otherwise, it will not function.

Food Processor:

Bowl Assembly:

  1. Assemble the bowl with the gear box base. Insert the bowl into the base (Step 1) and turn to lock (Step 2).
  2. The assembled bowl can then be attached to the machine body.

Using the Bowl:

  1. Take off the outlet cover.
  2. Set the assembled bowl onto the outlet.
  3. Lock the assembled bowl onto the outlet.

Remark: Ensure the bowl is well locked into the outlet; otherwise, the machine will not work.

Bowl Disassembly for Easy Clean:

  1. Hold the bowl handle with one hand.
  2. Press the switch on the gear box base with the other hand.
  3. Turn out the gear box base.
  4. Remove the gear box base from the bowl.

Food Processor Accessory Installation (Example for blade):

  1. Insert the blade assembly.
  2. Place the disc onto the blade holder.
  3. Turn to lock.
  4. Attach the food processor bowl.

Food Processor Function - Using the Knife Blade:

Used for chopping ingredients, such as carrots for cake.

  • Before processing, cut food into pusher-sized pieces.
  • Do not operate for more than 3 minutes at a time. Allow the motor to cool for at least 20 minutes before the next operation.
  • Use pulse control for coarser foods.
  • Ensure the lid is securely locked into the bowl; otherwise, the machine will not work.

Use Max / Pulse speed for best performance, not exceeding 1 minute per time. Rest for at least 20 minutes before next operation.

Food Processor Function - Using Slicer / Julienne / French Fried Potato Blade:

These blades can be used for salad making and decorating cakes.

  • Pay attention to the container's capacity line. Stop operation and pour out food when it reaches the max line.
  • Switch on and push food down evenly with the pusher; never put fingers into the feed tube.
  • Do not operate for more than 3 minutes. Allow the motor to cool for at least 20 minutes before the next operation.
  • Follow the pictured steps to assemble the machine.
  • Ensure the lid (in step 4) is locked well; otherwise, the machine will not work.
  • In step 2, 3 types of blades can be settled; ensure the blade is fixed well on the blade holder.
  • After operation, disassemble the machine by reversing the flow and direction.
  • Always be careful when handling blades as they are very sharp.
  • Only open the lid when the blades have completely stopped.

Use Min or Max speed for best performance, not exceeding 1 minute per time. Cannot operate continuously more than 2 times. Rest for at least 20 minutes before next operation.

Assembly Steps: 1. Insert blade holder. 2. Place disc. 3. Turn to lock. 4. Attach bowl. 5. Add food.

Disassembly Steps: Reverse of assembly.

Base Recipes Tips

Whipped Cream

  • 220ml cold heavy whipping cream
  • 40g (2 tbsp) sugar, honey, or maple syrup
  • 2.5 g (1½ tsp) vanilla or other flavorings

Cool mixer bowl and whisks in the freezer for at least 20 minutes. Place all ingredients into the bowl. Whisk until stiff peaks form. Processing time/Speed: approx. 1 min with max speeds.

Basic Sponge Cake

  • 4 eggs (room temperature)
  • 225 g caster sugar
  • 225 g self-raising flour
  • 10 g (2 tsp) baking powder
  • 225 g baking spread, margarine or soft butter at room temperature.

Mix eggs, caster sugar, baking powder, and baking spread. Processing time / Speed: 1 min. timer mode. Add flour and beat until fully incorporated. Processing time / Speed: 2 min. timer mode.

Basic Pizza Dough

  • 200 ml lukewarm water
  • 14 g yeast
  • 5 g (1 tsp) salt
  • 300 g flour
  • Splash of extra virgin olive oil

Place all ingredients into the bowl and knead at low speed. Processing time / Speed: 1 min. timer mode. Continue kneading until flour is fully incorporated. Processing time / Speed: 2 min. timer mode.

Pure Carrot Smoothies

  • Max. 900g Water
  • Max. 600g carrot

Place all ingredients into the jar and use max speed for blending. Processing time / Speed: 3 min.

Cleaning

  1. Before cleaning, remove the power cord from the socket.
  2. Never immerse the motor housing in water.
  3. Do not use sharp or abrasive detergents.
  4. Use only a damp cloth to clean the exterior housing.
  5. Components that have contacted food can be cleaned in soapy water.
  6. Allow parts to dry thoroughly before reassembling.
