Owner's Manual and Installation Guide
Important Safety Information
Carefully read, understand, and follow all information in this user manual before installing and using the swimming pool. These warnings, instructions, and safety guidelines address some common risks of water recreation, but they cannot cover all risks and dangers in all cases. Always use caution, common sense, and good judgment when enjoying any water activity. Retain this information for future use.
Non-Swimmer Safety
- Continuous, active, and vigilant supervision of weak swimmers and non-swimmers by a competent adult is required at all times (children under five are at the highest risk of drowning).
- Designate a competent adult to supervise the pool each time it is being used.
- Weak swimmers or non-swimmers should wear personal protection equipment when using the pool.
- When the pool is not in use, or unsupervised, remove all toys from the swimming pool and its surroundings to avoid attracting children to the pool.
Safety Devices
- To prevent children from drowning, it is recommended to secure the access to the pool with a protection device.
- To prevent children climbing from the inlet and outlet valve, it is recommended to install a barrier (and secure all doors and windows, where applicable) to prevent unauthorized access to the swimming pool.
- Barriers, pool covers, pool alarms, or similar safety devices are helpful aids, but they are not substitutes for continuous and competent adult supervision.
Safety Equipment
- Keep rescue equipment (e.g., a ring buoy) by the pool.
- Keep a working phone and a list of emergency phone numbers near the pool.
Safe Use of the Pool
- Encourage all users, especially children, to learn how to swim.
- Learn Basic Life Support (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation - CPR) and refresh this knowledge regularly. This can make a life-saving difference in the event of an emergency.
- Instruct all pool users, including children, what to do in case of an emergency.
- Never dive into any shallow body of water. This can lead to serious injury or death.
- Do not use the swimming pool when using alcohol or medication that may impair your ability to safely use the pool.
- When pool covers are used, remove them completely from the water surface before entering the pool.
- Protect pool occupants from water-related illnesses by keeping the pool water treated and practicing good hygiene. Consult the water treatment guidelines in the user's manual.
- Store chemicals (e.g., water treatment, cleaning or disinfection products) out of the reach of children.
- Use the signage as outlined below. Signage is to be displayed in a prominent position within 2m of the pool.
General Warnings: Keep children under supervision in the aquatic environment. No diving. Removable ladders shall be placed on a horizontal surface. Accessible surfaces must be checked regularly to avoid injuries. Regularly monitor bolts and screws. Remove splinters or any sharp edges to avoid injuries. ATTENTION: Do not leave the drained pool outside; the empty pool is liable to become deformed and/or displaced due to wind. If you have a filter pump, refer to its manual. WARNING: The pump cannot be used while people are inside the pool! If you have a ladder, refer to its manual. WARNING: Use of a swimming pool implies compliance with safety instructions. Pay particular attention to securing access for children under 5 years and maintain constant adult supervision.
Choosing the Correct Location
The surface chosen to install the pool must be capable of uniformly supporting the total weight of the water and users. Consider that water may escape the pool, potentially softening the surface. Check regularly that vertical legs and U-supports are level; if they sink, drain the water immediately to prevent collapse. Position the pool away from objects children could use to climb into it. Place the pool near an adequate drainage system. The surface must be flat and smooth; uneven surfaces can unbalance the structure, potentially damaging the liner and frame. The selected surface must be clear of any objects that could damage the pool bottom due to water weight. Remove aggressive plants and weeds. Ensure the location is free from overhead power lines or trees, and underground utility lines or cables. Position the pool away from house entrances and avoid placing equipment or furniture around it, as escaping water can cause damage. The surface must be flat and without holes that can damage the liner material.
Suggested surfaces: Grass, ground, concrete, and other suitable surfaces. Not suggested surfaces: Mud, sand, gravel, deck, balcony, driveway, platform, soft/loose soil, or surfaces not meeting the above conditions.
Notes: Check local by-laws for fencing, barriers, lighting, and safety requirements. Refer to the filter pump's manual if applicable. Ensure the ladder matches the pool size and is used correctly.
Pool Maintenance
Failure to adhere to maintenance guidelines can risk health, especially for children.
Using Chemical Tablets (not included)
Use Chemconnect or Chemical Floater for maintenance with tablets. If your item does not include a dispenser, it can be purchased separately. IMPORTANT: Do not use granular tablets or throw tablets directly into the water, as chemicals can deposit on the bottom, damage the material, and discolor the PVC.
Using Chemical Liquid (not included)
IMPORTANT: Add chemical liquid in small doses in the center of the pool to avoid direct contact with the PVC surface. Direct contact can damage the material and discolor the surface. Remove the chemical dispenser from the pool when in use. IMPORTANT: After chemical maintenance, use a test kit to test water chemistry before using the pool. Maintain water according to the following table:
Parameter | Values |
Water clarity | Clear view of the pool bottom |
Colour of the water | No colour should be observed |
Turbidity in FNU/NTU | max. 1.5 (preferably less than 0.5) |
Nitrate concentration above that of fill water in mg/l | max. 20 |
Total organic carbon (TOC) in mg/l | max. 4.0 |
Redox potential against Ag/AgCl 3.5 m KCl in mV | min. 650 |
pH value | 6.8 to 7.6 |
Free active chlorine (without cyanuric acid) in mg/l | 0.3 to 1.5 |
Free chlorine used in combination with cyanuric acid in mg/l | 1.0 to 3.0 |
Cyanuric acid in mg/l | max. 100 |
Combined chlorine in mg/l | max. 0.5 (preferably close to 0.0 mg/l) |
Note: Damage from chemical imbalance is not covered by warranty. Pool chemicals are toxic; handle with care. Chemical vapors and improper storage pose health risks. Consult your local pool supply retailer for chemical maintenance information and follow manufacturer instructions. Misuse of chemicals and mismanagement of pool water are not covered by warranty. Over-usage of chemicals can discolor printing and damage the pool liner.
Keeping Your Pool Clean
- Contact your local pool supply shop for advice and chemicals/pH kits. Keeping water clean and healthy is crucial for liner longevity. Follow professional technician instructions for water treatment.
- Place a bucket of water next to the pool to clean feet before entering.
- Cover the pool when not in use.
- Skim pool regularly to remove settled dirt.
- Check and wash the filter cartridge regularly.
- Gently clean scum from below the top ring with a clean cloth.
- In case of rain, check that the water level is not higher than expected. If so, discharge excess water.
- If it rains, check the water level against the specified level. If it exceeds, drain the pool to the specified level.
Proper maintenance maximizes pool life. The filtration system must operate daily to ensure at least one complete water volume renewal. The pump circulates water and filters particles. Add chemicals to keep water clean and hygienic.
Repair, Dismantling, and Storage
Repair
For leaks, use the provided underwater adhesive repair patch. Instructions are in the FAQs on www.bestwaycorp.com.
Dismantling
- Unscrew the drain valve cap counter-clockwise and remove.
- Connect the adaptor to the hose and place the other end where you will drain the pool (check local drainage regulations).
- Screw the hose adaptor's control ring clockwise onto the drain valve to open it. Water will begin to drain automatically. ATTENTION: Water flow can be controlled with the ring.
- When draining is finished, unscrew the control ring to close the valve.
- Disconnect the hose.
- Screw the cap back onto the drain valve.
- Air dry the pool.
ATTENTION: Do not leave the drained pool outside.
Storage
- Remove all accessories and spare parts, store them clean and dry.
- Once the pool is completely dry, sprinkle with talcum powder to prevent sticking, then fold carefully. If not fully dry, mold may form and damage the liner.
- Store liner and accessories in a dry place with moderate temperatures (5°C / 41°F to 38°C / 100°F).
- Store pool and accessories as instructed during the rainy season.
- Improper draining can cause serious personal injury and/or property damage.
- It is strongly recommended to disassemble the pool during the off-season (winter months). Store in a dry location out of children's reach.
Installation
Installation typically takes 20-30 minutes with 2-3 people, excluding earthworks and filling. Assembly can be done without tools. Sprinkle the top rail with talcum powder (not included) before assembly to prolong pool life.
Bestway is not responsible for damage caused by mishandling or failure to follow these instructions.
- Lay out all parts and check quantities against the components list. Visit www.bestwaycorp.com for assistance or FAQs.
- Spread out the pool, ensuring it's right side up. Let it sit in direct sunlight for at least 1 hour to make it more flexible for setup.
- Place the pool near an adequate drainage system for overflow. Ensure pool inlet A and outlet B are correctly positioned for your filter pump connection.
Note: Do not use extension power cords for the pump. ATTENTION: Do not drag the pool on the ground, as this can damage it. Drawings are for illustration purposes only and may not reflect the actual product or scale.
Filling the Pool with Water
ATTENTION: Do not leave the pool unattended while filling.
- Fill the pool until the water reaches the welding line located 5cm-20cm (2.0"-7.9") from the top. DO NOT OVERFILL, as this could cause the pool to collapse. In heavy rainfall, you may need to empty some water to ensure the level is correct.
- After filling, check that the water is not collecting on any side to ensure the pool is level.
IMPORTANT: If the pool is not level, drain the water and re-level the ground. Never attempt to move the pool with water in it, as this can cause serious injury or damage. WARNING: Your pool can be under great pressure. If there are bulges or uneven sides, the pool is not level, and sides may burst, discharging water suddenly and causing injury or property damage.
- Check the pool for leaks at valves or seams. Do not add chemicals until this has been done.
