Intended Use
This appliance is intended for domestic use only, up to a maximum height of 2000 metres above sea level. Use only in accordance with this instruction manual.
Safety Information
General Safety
- This vacuum cleaner complies with recognised technology rules and safety regulations.
- Children aged 8 years and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capacity, or lack of experience, may use the appliance if supervised or instructed on safe use and potential dangers.
- Children must not play with the appliance.
- Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by unsupervised children.
- Keep plastic bags and films out of reach of children before disposal to prevent suffocation. ⚠️ Risk of suffocation.
Prohibited Uses
- Do not use for vacuum-cleaning persons or animals.
- Do not vacuum up:
- Hazardous, sharp-edged, hot, or glowing substances.
- Damp or liquid substances.
- Highly flammable or explosive substances and gases.
- Ash, soot from tiled stoves, or central heating systems.
- Toner dust from printers and copiers.
Proper Use
- Connect and use the vacuum cleaner only as specified on the rating plate.
- Never vacuum without the dust bag or dust container, motor protection, or exhaust filter. This may damage the vacuum cleaner.
- Keep the vacuum cleaner away from your head when using nozzles and tubes. This could cause injury!
- When vacuuming stairs, the appliance must always be positioned below the user.
- Do not use the power cord or hose to carry or transport the vacuum cleaner.
- If the mains power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, their after-sales service department, or a similarly qualified person.
- If using the appliance for longer than 30 minutes, pull out the power cord completely.
- When disconnecting from the mains, pull the plug itself, not the power cord.
- Do not pull the power cord over sharp edges or allow it to become trapped.
- When the cable is rewinding automatically, ensure the plug does not swing towards people, body parts, animals, or objects. Use the plug to guide the cord.
- Pull out the mains plug before performing any work on the vacuum cleaner.
Operational Safety
- Do not operate the vacuum cleaner if it is damaged. Unplug if a fault is detected.
- Only authorised after-sales service personnel may carry out repairs and fit replacement parts.
- Protect the vacuum cleaner from weather, moisture, and heat sources.
- Do not pour flammable substances or substances containing alcohol onto filters (dust bag, motor protection filter, exhaust filter, etc.).
- The vacuum cleaner is not suitable for use on construction sites. Vacuuming building rubble could damage the appliance.
- When not in use, switch off the appliance and pull out the mains plug.
- At the end of its life, render the appliance unusable and dispose of it appropriately.
Electrical Safety Note
- The mains socket must be protected by at least a 16 amp circuit breaker.
- If a circuit breaker trips when switching on, other high-current appliances may be connected to the same circuit.
- To prevent tripping, select the lowest power setting before switching on, and increase power only once running.
Your Vacuum Cleaner Components
The following components are part of your vacuum cleaner:
- 1 Adjustable floor tool: For general floor cleaning.
- 2 Hard-floor brush: Specifically for hard floors like parquet, tiles, and terracotta.
- 3 Hose hand grip: The handle connecting the hose to the telescopic tube.
- 4 Flexible hose: Connects the handle to the vacuum cleaner body.
- 5 Telescopic tube with adjusting sleeve: Allows adjustment of reach and length.
- 6 Power cord: Connects the vacuum cleaner to the mains power supply.
- 7 Parking aid: For temporarily storing the floor tool.
- 8 Locking lever: Used for securing or releasing parts, e.g., telescopic tube.
- 9 Exhaust grille: Where filtered air is expelled.
- 10 Dust bag: Collects dust and debris.
- 11 Exhaust filter*: Filters air before it is expelled.
- 12 Motor protection filter, washable: Protects the motor from dust and can be cleaned.
- 13 Carrying handle: For transporting the appliance.
- 14 Dust bag compartment lid: Covers the dust bag compartment.
- 15 Dust bag change indicator: Signals when the dust bag needs changing.
- 16 Storage aid (on underside of appliance): For storing the hose or power cord.
- 17 On/off button and power controller: To switch the appliance on/off and adjust suction power.
- 18 Crevice nozzle: For cleaning narrow gaps and corners.
- 19 Upholstery nozzle: For cleaning furniture, curtains, and other soft furnishings.
- 20 Hard furnishing brush: For cleaning hard surfaces on furniture.
Replacement Parts and Special Accessories
A Dust bag
For optimal dust collection, use genuine Bosch G ALL replacement bags. Contents: 4 dust bags with fasteners.
PLEASE NOTE: Your vacuum cleaner achieves its best cleaning results only with genuine dust bags. Using high-quality Bosch dust bags ensures compliance with EU energy label figures for efficiency, suction, and dust retention. Inferior quality bags (e.g., paper) can significantly impact performance and lifespan. Warranty claims require the use of genuine Bosch dust bags.

For vacuuming hard floors such as parquet, tiles, and terracotta.
Initial Use
Before using your appliance for the first time

- Push the hand grip onto the flexible hose and lock it in place.
- To remove the hand grip, press the two catches together and pull out the flexible hose.

- a) Push the flexible hose adapter into the air intake opening on the vacuum cleaner lid until it locks.
- b) To remove the flexible hose, press the two catches together and pull out the hose.

- Push the hand grip into the telescopic tube. To remove it, turn the hand grip slightly and pull it out.

- Insert the telescopic tube into the connecting piece of the floor tool. To release, turn the tube slightly and pull it out.

- Move the adjusting sleeve/slider button in the direction of the arrow to unlock the telescopic tube and adjust it to the required length.

- Holding the plug, pull out the power cord to the required length and insert the plug into the mains socket.

- Press the ON/OFF button in the direction of the arrow to switch your vacuum cleaner on.

The suction level can be adjusted infinitely by turning the control knob:
- Low power range: For vacuuming delicate materials (e.g., upholstery, curtains). ?
- Medium power range: For daily vacuuming of light dirt. ??
- High power range: For vacuuming durable floor coverings, hard floors, and heavily soiled surfaces. ???
Vacuuming
Caution: Floor tools are subject to wear. Check the underside regularly. Worn tools may have sharp edges that can damage sensitive floors. The manufacturer is not responsible for damage caused by worn tools.

If vacuuming large particles, do so successively and carefully to avoid blocking the vacuum channel. Raise the nozzle if necessary.

Attach nozzles to the suction pipe or hand grip as required:
- a) Crevice nozzle: For cleaning crevices and corners.
- b) Upholstery nozzle: For cleaning upholstered furniture and curtains.
- c) Hard furnishing brush: For hard furniture surfaces.

Use the parking aid on the back of the vacuum cleaner to temporarily stop vacuuming. Once switched off, slide the hook on the floor tool into the recess on the rear of the appliance.

The appliance can be carried by the handle to overcome obstacles like steps.
When the Work is Done

- a) Pull out the mains plug.
- b) Briefly pull on the power cord and release it; the cord retracts automatically.

Use the storage aid on the underside of the appliance for storage/transport:
- a) Stand the appliance upright on its end.
- b) Slide the hook on the floor tool into the recess on the underside of the appliance.
Changing the Filter
Caution: Always switch off the appliance before changing the filter.
Replacing the dust bag

- If the dust bag change indicator is completely full when the floor tool is lifted with the highest suction level selected, the dust bag must be changed, even if not full. Dust types may necessitate changes even if not full. First, check for blockages in the nozzle, suction pipe, and hose, as these can also trigger the indicator.
- The hand grip can be detached from the hose to remove blockages.

- a) Unlock the lid by pulling the locking lever in the direction of the arrow.
- b) Open the lid in the direction of the arrow.

- a) Pull the tab on the dust bag to close it.
- b) Take out the dust bag.
- c) Insert a new dust bag.
- d) Push the dust bag fully into the holder.
Please note: The lid will only close if a dust bag has been inserted.
Cleaning the motor protection filter
The motor protection filter should be cleaned regularly by tapping out dirt and rinsing.

- Open the dust bag compartment lid (see Figure 16).
- a) Release the motor protection filter from its catch by pulling sideways and pulling it out in the direction of the arrow.
- b) Clean the filter by tapping out the dirt.
- c) If very dirty, rinse the filter with water.
- The filter must dry for at least 24 hours.
- d) After cleaning, refit the motor protection filter, lock it in place, and close the dust bag compartment lid.
Replacing the exhaust filter
Vacuum cleaner with micro-hygiene filter: This should be replaced with every filter pack.

- Open the dust bag compartment lid (see Figure 16).
- a) Release the filter holder by moving the locking lever in the direction of the arrow.
- b) Remove the micro-hygiene filter.
- c) The micro-hygiene filter can be rinsed out.
- The filter must dry for at least 24 hours.
- d) Remove the old micro-hygiene filter. Insert the new one into the appliance.
- e) Insert the filter holder and lock it in place.
Vacuum cleaner with HEPA filter: If equipped, this filter must be replaced annually.

- Open the dust bag compartment lid (see Figure 16).
- a) Unlock the HEPA filter by moving the locking lever in the direction of the arrow and remove it.
- b) Insert the new HEPA filter and lock it in place.
After vacuuming fine dust particles, clean the motor protection filter and, if necessary, replace the micro-hygiene or HEPA filter.
Care
Always switch off and unplug the vacuum cleaner before cleaning. Clean the appliance and plastic accessories with ordinary plastic cleaner.
Do not use abrasive materials, glass-cleaning agents, or all-purpose cleaning products. Never immerse the vacuum cleaner in water.
If needed, the dust compartment can be vacuumed out with a second vacuum cleaner or cleaned with a dry duster/brush.
