This guide provides a compatibility lookup for Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles and their corresponding remote pair codes. It also includes detailed pairing instructions.

Pairing Instructions

Instructions have timing requirements. Waiting too long between steps may result in your vehicle's computer timing out, requiring you to start over. Once you begin the pairing procedure, be sure to move at a quick and even pace.

Pair Code 1

1. Insert a working key into the ignition.
2. Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN (without starting the engine) 4 times within 3 seconds, with the 4th time ending in RUN. The door locks will cycle to confirm pairing mode.
3. Within 20 seconds, press any button on the first remote. The door locks will cycle to confirm pairing.
4. Within 20 seconds press any button on the second remote. The door locks will cycle to confirm pairing.
5. Repeat step 4 for any additional remotes.
6. Turn the ignition to OFF.
7. Test all remotes.

Pair Code 2

1. Insert a working key into the ignition.
2. Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN (without starting the engine) 8 times within 10 seconds, with the 8th time ending in RUN. The door locks will cycle to confirm pairing mode.
3. Within 20 seconds, press any button on the first remote. The door locks will cycle to confirm pairing.
4. Within 20 seconds, press any button on the second remote. The door locks will cycle to confirm pairing.
5. Repeat step 4 for any additional remotes.
6. Turn the ignition to OFF. Locks will again cycle to indicate the end of pairing mode.
7. Test all remotes.

Pair Code 3

1. Insert a working key into the ignition.
2. Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN (without starting the engine) 4 times within 6 seconds.
3. Turn the ignition OFF. The system will chime to confirm pairing mode.
4. Within 20 seconds, press any button on the first remote. The system will chime once to confirm pairing.
5. Within 20 seconds, press any button on the second remote. The system will chime once to confirm pairing.
6. Repeat step 5 for any additional remotes.
7. Turn ignition to RUN to exit programming mode.
8. Test all remotes.

Pair Code 4

1. Fasten all seat belts and close all doors.
2. Insert a working key into the ignition.
3. Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN (without starting the engine) 4 times within 6 seconds, with the 4th time ending in RUN.
4. Turn the ignition to OFF. An acoustic signal will sound to confirm pairing mode.
5. Within 10 seconds, press and hold any button on the first remote. Wait for an acoustic sound and warning lamp to flash (confirming pairing), then release the button.
6. Wait 2 seconds, but within 10 seconds, repeat step 5 for any additional remotes.
7. To exit pairing mode, turn the ignition to RUN or wait 10 seconds.
8. Test all remotes.

Pair Code 5

1. Insert a working key into the ignition.
2. Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN (without starting the engine) 4 times within 6 seconds.
3. Turn the ignition OFF. The LED in the clock/trip computer will light up continuously to confirm pairing mode.
4. Within 20 seconds, press any button on the first remote. The LED in the clock will flash 4 times to confirm pairing.
5. Within 20 seconds, press any button on the second remote. The LED in the clock will flash 4 times to confirm pairing.
6. Repeat step 5 for any additional remotes.
7. Turn the ignition to RUN. The LED will turn off to indicate end of pairing mode.
8. Test all remotes.
