Land Rover Defender: Technical Specifications and Information
Post-Collision Procedures
If your vehicle is involved in an accident, it must be inspected by a Land Rover dealer or a qualified specialist before starting the engine or driving.
After a collision, thoroughly check the following:
- Fuel and fluid leaks
- Battery damage
- Wiring damage
- Lamp damage
- Steering, suspension, wheel, and tire damage
- Body damage (sharp or protruding parts)
- Door lock condition
- Seat belt condition and functionality
- Child seat condition and fastenings
Note: Collision damage may be hidden. Component deformation can affect vehicle safety. Safety system components must be checked immediately by a dealer or authorized workshop.
Vehicle Labels
Warning labels are located on various vehicle components. Labels with a specific symbol indicate that the component should not be touched or adjusted without consulting the relevant instructions in the manual.
Labels with another symbol indicate that the ignition system operates under high voltage. Do not touch ignition system components when the ignition is on.
These labels draw attention to important details such as tire pressure and potential hazards in the engine compartment.
Label Locations:
- 1. Fan Shroud: Fan warning label, air conditioning warning label.
- 2. Instrument Panel: Gearbox warning label.
- 3. Right B-Pillar: Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), tire pressure information, tire pressure information with Australian build date, jacking information, maximum mass.
- 4. Fuel Filler Cap: Fuel type information label.
- 5. Top of Battery: Symbols for safe battery handling.
- 6. Inside of Windscreen: VIN label.
- 7. Under Bonnet: VIN label.
- 8. Left side of engine crankcase (view from underneath): Model number and engine identification number.
Familiarize yourself with these labels to ensure safe operation and use of your vehicle.
