Pylontech Auto App for RT12100G31

A. Introduction

The Pylontech RT12100G31 battery is designed for adaptability and scalability in applications such as Marine, RV/Caravan, 4x4, and other solar storage systems.

As an "array aware" or managed battery, the RT12100G31 allows for expansion by enabling communication between Battery Management Systems (BMS) in a master/slave format.

Scalability:

• A 12V System (1S) can be scaled up to 16 in parallel.
• A 24V system (2S) can be scaled up to 8 in parallel.
• A 36V system (3S) can be scaled up to 5 in parallel.
• A 48V system (4S) can be scaled up to 4 in parallel.

Note: For systems with 1-8 batteries, the maximum continuous discharge is 1.0C. For systems with 9 or more batteries, the maximum continuous discharge is 0.8C.

The Pylontech Auto App serves a dual purpose: battery system configuration and viewing system information. It can also activate the heating pad.

The Pylontech Auto App is essential for programming the Master Battery in any series and parallel configuration to ensure accurate system information reporting or export to other devices.

Installation of the Pylontech RT12100G31 battery should follow the Pylontech RT12100G31 Manual. After installation, series and parallel systems can be configured to reflect the system's Voltages and Capacity.

The Pylontech Configuration app is currently available for Android. An iOS version is planned for release soon.

Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile phone or tablet.

B. Getting Started

Upon accessing the app, you will be presented with the Login screen. If this is your first time logging in, you will need to create an account.

1. Creating an Account:

• Enter a valid email address.
• Create a password.
• You will receive an activation email.

2. Ensure Batteries are Turned On:

Note: For systems with series and parallel configurations, consult the manual for the correct initiation sequence to identify the master battery and master On/Off switch.

3. Adding a Battery / Battery System:

On initial login, the "Add" screen will open. Click the "Add" button.

The device will list all Pylontech Bluetooth batteries within Bluetooth range.

Identify the serial number located on the top of the battery you wish to view, or the battery that serves as the Master battery within the system.

Find the serial number in the list and click on it.

This action will open the system Dashboard page, which displays:

1. Serial Number: Displays the serial number of the battery currently logged in. For series/parallel configurations, this is the serial number of the Master Battery.
2. System State of Charge: The current charge level of the battery system.
3. Temperature Variance: The temperature difference across all cells in the system.
4. Accumulated Energy: The total energy output of the system over its lifetime.
5. Battery Status: Indicates the current operational state of the battery.
6. Battery Heater Status: Indicates whether the battery heater is active or off.
7. Total System Voltage: The combined voltage of the battery system.
8. Current (Amps): A positive value indicates charge current into the battery; a negative value indicates discharge current from the battery.
9. Power (Watts): Calculated as Voltage x Amps.
10. Battery System Icon: Clicking this icon displays a list of all batteries in the system.

Clicking on each individual battery in the list will show:

• Battery voltage
• Current
• Accumulated energy
• Status
• Max/Min temperature, serial number, and firmware version

C. System Configuration

1. Click the "..." icon in the top right-hand corner.
2. My Devices: Lists all Pylontech batteries linked to your account within Bluetooth range.
3. Documents: Provides links to Pylontech document files, including FAQs and manuals.
4. Control: This section is for Connection Verification for Series and Parallel configurations, as well as communication settings.

2. Programming of Master BMS for Series and Parallel Connection:

To provide accurate information to external devices like Victron Venus, the system parameters must correctly reflect the number of batteries in series or parallel.

• A 12V System (1S) can be scaled up to 16 in parallel.
• A 24V system (2S) can be scaled up to 8 in parallel.
• A 36V system (3S) can be scaled up to 5 in parallel.
• A 48V system (4S) can be scaled up to 4 in parallel.

Press "Confirm" to set the parameters.

3. Heating Function On/Off:

This function activates the heater pad, which is designed to enable charging of Lithium batteries at low temperatures.
